Chapter 900: Approachable Pierce
Chapter 900: Approachable Pierce
"Since you’ve put it on, don’t you want to give it a try?" Ivan looked at Hermione and smiled.
"Of course I do!" The young witch eagerly grabbed an Alchemy Book and began flipping through it carefully.
Revisiting the material, the once obscure and difficult words suddenly became clear and understandable, and her learning efficiency improved several times over. Rereading certain passages, she gained new insights...
The key to Alchemy lies in converting Magic. Once she understood this, the complex alchemical formulas became more organized... Hermione flipped through several pages and read about the conjectures regarding Alchemy arrays, gaining some insight. She then felt annoyed with herself for not thinking of it earlier.
The rapid growth of knowledge quickly made Hermione engrossed, fully immersing herself in her studies and even forgetting about Ivan...
Ivan chuckled and shook his head, not wanting to disturb the young witch’s enthusiasm. After resting for a while, he continued his research on wands.
Before long, the spacious Alchemy Room was filled only with the sounds of pages turning and the engraving knife scratching against the wood.
...
Time flew by, and it had been half a month since the three new residents moved in. The once desolate Grand Manor gradually gained some life.
During this period, Ivan did not waste a single day. In the morning, he enthusiastically conducted his wand research, and in the afternoon, he continued to refine and explore the power of Bloodline Magic. In the evening, he needed to act as a Professor to teach Hermione more advanced Alchemy knowledge.
While Ravenclaw's Diadem could enhance wisdom and significantly improve learning efficiency, it had its limits. Some profound Alchemy knowledge required specialized guidance; no matter how intelligent one was, it was impossible to grasp it alone.
Hermione’s progress far exceeded his expectations. In just half a month, she had already mastered the basics of Alchemy and, two days ago, she created her first Magic Item.
Magic Item: Self-Inking Quills
Magic: Weak
Description: This is a beginner Alchemist's trial piece. When infused with Magic, it can sense the master’s thoughts and automatically record notes in a book.
"Very nice, Hermione. It seems you have a natural talent. Congratulations on creating a genuine Alchemical Item. At this learning rate, it won’t be long before you become a qualified Alchemist", Ivan said, glancing at the System Bar’s evaluation and then at the young witch.
Although he thought the Magic creation was still somewhat crude, considering it was a beginner’s work, this level of achievement was impressive.
Hermione’s face lit up with a smile, delighted that her efforts over the past few days had not been in vain.
Perhaps driven by a competitive spirit or simply out of curiosity, after putting away the Self-Inking Quills, Hermione asked, "By the way, Ivan, how long did it take you to learn Alchemy?"
About a week? Ivan hesitated, but that was after he spent over a thousand House Points on a Scholar Experience Card, which was far more effective than Ravenclaw's Diadem.
To avoid discouraging the young witch, he humbly replied, "I took about a month, but you’re much faster than I was."
"How can that be compared? I only got this far so quickly by cheating..." Hermione stroked the Crown on her head and helplessly shook her head.
From her experience over the past few days, Ravenclaw's Diadem had improved her learning efficiency by about three times. Normally, it would take her a month and a half to reach the beginner level, and that was only with Ivan, the Alchemical Master, spending two to three hours each day explaining things to her.
You’re not the only one cheating... Ivan rubbed his nose, feeling a bit guilty. However, could using a learning aid really be called cheating?
Hermione didn’t know what Ivan was thinking. After seeing the gap between them, she silently resolved to work even harder.
Of course, this wasn’t to surpass Ivan one day, but because during her time as an assistant, Hermione had deeply realized the insufficiency of her knowledge. She could only handle simple tasks like passing materials, and couldn’t provide any substantial help...
With this thought, Hermione picked up the book in her hands and started reading again.
"Take a break, Hermione. You’ve been reading all morning. If you get too tired, it will only hinder your learning efficiency." Ivan took the Crown off her head, feeling somewhat helpless.
He had originally thought he was a very studious person, but compared to Hermione, he still fell short. He even suspected that if he didn’t interfere, the young witch would stay in the Alchemy Room and read through the entire summer.
"Maybe we should go for a walk?" Ivan suggested.
Hermione put down her book and hesitantly nodded. Just as she was about to go back to her room to change, she saw Ivan suddenly turn his head towards the window.
"What is it?" Hermione asked, surprised.
"Someone’s coming, and it’s probably someone we know... Dobby wouldn’t let anyone into the manor otherwise." Ivan rubbed his chin and said.
Meanwhile, in the spacious Reception Hall on the first floor of the manor, Will Granger instinctively got up and opened the door when he heard a knock.
At the door, a somewhat portly man wearing a top hat stood with a pleasant smile on his face.
"Who are you?" Will Granger asked hesitantly.
"You can call me Pierce! I’m a friend of Mr. Hals..." Pierce said with a grin. With his network of information, he naturally knew the identity of the Muggle in front of him and didn’t dare to be the slightest bit impolite.
"Oh... I see." Will Granger blocked the door, unsure whether to let the man in. He had just realized that this wasn’t his home, and the Wizarding World didn’t seem to be as peaceful as he had thought.
Fortunately, Will didn’t have to agonize for long because a few seconds later, the sound of footsteps came from upstairs.
"Pierce... Minister of Magic?" Hermione exclaimed as she came down the stairs and saw Pierce at the door.
"Oh, hello, Hermione Granger." Pierce responded politely.
Hermione smiled at Pierce and then explained to her bewildered parents, "This is the Minister of Magic... um, equivalent to a Muggle president..."
The president of the Wizarding World? Will and his wife looked at Pierce with surprise and a bit of fear. This was their first time encountering such a prominent figure!
However, this Minister of Magic seemed incredibly approachable, with no airs about him at all.
