Chapter 90: Wood Release · Bloodline Limit
Chapter 90: Wood Release · Bloodline Limit
"Human Bullet Tank!"
"Fire Release!"
"Water Release!"
"Ninjutsu!"
By mid-morning, Hidden Leaf Village's Central Street became the scene of an extraordinary spectacle.
Someone was openly demonstrating the Five Chakra Natures in broad daylight—a strictly forbidden act under normal circumstances.
Yet no patrolling ninja arrived to investigate or intervene. This was officially sanctioned demolition work, pre-approved by the village authorities.
Surrounding the ruined hot spring complex, several buildings had been cordoned off with isolation tape. Leading the operation, Sasuke Uchiha and his peers were unleashing their signature techniques—Ninjutsu and secret arts—on the properties purchased by Izayoi.
It had been several days since Itachi Uchiha's return to the village. During this time, Sasuke had been assisting Izayoi with the demolition. Initially, only he and Akimichi Chōji helped, but passing shinobi who witnessed the chaos spontaneously joined in.
Money wasn’t the motivation—the thrill of legally demolishing buildings trumped mundane training exercises at the Academy grounds.
Explosions thundered one after another, sending plumes of smoke into the air. After exhausting their chakra reserves, the group still hadn’t reduced a single structure to rubble.
"Never mind, let me handle it."
Izayoi, wearing a hardhat as he oversaw operations, shook his head. He raised his hand, conjuring a Rasengan-sized energy sphere. Infusing it with Water and Lightning Release chakra, he rapidly formed a miniature Storm Release orb.
With a single Judgment Beam, the battered building crumbled into dust. Ten shots later, every structure within the taped perimeter lay in ruins.
Turning to the nearby team, Izayoi said, "Start clearing the debris."
"Understood!"
A dozen workers immediately sprang into action, hauling away rubble. The shinobi who’d failed to help earlier joined in, though progress remained painfully slow. At this rate, removing all the debris would take nearly ten days.
Izayoi decided to deploy a forbidden technique he’d learned but never used.
Forming a hand seal, he declared, "Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"
A series of popping sounds echoed as thick white mist enveloped the area. When the wind dispersed it, two hundred Izayoi clones stood ready. Three Shadow Clones dashed toward the Naka River to retrieve sealed scrolls.
The group gawked at the sheer number of clones.
"Izayoi, how do you know Naruto’s technique?" Nara Shikamaru narrowed his eyes, addressing the clone. "If I recall correctly, that’s a forbidden jutsu from the Scroll of Seals."
Shikamaru didn’t suspect Izayoi of stealing the scroll—such an act would’ve been impossible. The village’s leadership had long anticipated the risk of theft, creating backup scrolls for each forbidden technique. The only real danger was enemy shinobi learning their village’s secrets.
What puzzled Shikamaru was how Izayoi, lacking the proper clearance, could’ve mastered such a technique. Even with Hyuga Clan support, acquiring forbidden knowledge was improbable.
Could Naruto have taught him?
But Izayoi’s response made Shikamaru’s eyebrow twitch.
The clone paused mid-task, glancing back. "You need to learn this? Isn’t it obvious just from watching?"
Realizing his faux pas, the clone added sheepishly, "Oh right, sorry. I forgot how limited your chakra reserves are."
"Die, you arrogant bastard!"
Kiba Inuzuka, passing by, hurled a rock that shattered the clone into mist.
"Woof!" Akamaru barked in agreement.
Seeing Kiba’s lead, the others joined in, swarming the clones with a flurry of punches and kicks. The clones, overwhelmed, quickly surrendered.
"Everyone, take a break! We brought fruit!"
The group turned as Hinata Hyuga, Hanabi Hyuga, Yamanaka Ino, and Sakura Haruno wheeled over a cart of refreshments.
"Big brother, have some water!" Hanabi rushed to Izayoi, offering a bottle.
"Thanks, Hanabi", Izayoi said, ruffling her hair.
But his eye twitched when he saw the workers abandoning their tasks for snacks.
Why does every world I visit have lazy freeloaders?
After replenishing their chakra, the shinobi finally got serious, using Shadow Clone Technique themselves. With two hundred clones, dozens of shinobi, and the workers collaborating, the massive cleanup finished in less than two days.
To thank everyone, Izayoi treated the group to meals costing nearly a million ryō—roughly the reward for an average S-rank mission.
Total financial disaster!
Still, shared meals and camaraderie rekindled the bonds of old.
Next came laying the foundation—a simple task delegated to Earth Release specialists via a mission request at the Hokage Office. Where mundane construction would’ve taken weeks, Ninjutsu finished it in half a day.
With the groundwork done, Izayoi handed the project to professionals and headed home alone.
As he passed the Uchiha Clan Grounds, he suddenly halted, glancing warily at the forest path behind him.
Was that just my imagination?
Accelerating his pace, he vanished. Moments later, a pale face emerged from a tree trunk—a White Zetsu clone.
The grotesque sight would’ve terrified any child in the village.
Staring at Izayoi’s retreating figure, the Zetsu clone muttered, "Incredible perception. So this is the Izayoi Orochi and Itachi spoke of? Flight techniques and Dust Release… a younger Ōnoki. Hidden Leaf’s luck never ceases."
However, the White Zetsu clone didn’t realize that Izayoi had been watching his every move.
As a faint blue light flickered in Izayoi’s eyes, he mused inwardly, “So he finally came in after all. Makes sense—something this big happened, they’d definitely send a clone to gather intel. Looks like there’s more than one.”
Then, Izayoi stared in a certain direction for several seconds before a faint smirk curled his lips.
The Mayfly Technique was indeed formidable—it allowed perfect fusion with the earth and plants, hiding chakra so thoroughly that even the Rinnegan couldn’t detect it if the user stayed dormant.
But Izayoi, as a transmigrator, had more than one countermeasure.
Let you enjoy your victory for a few more days. Soon, it’ll be our turn to strike.
Izayoi thought grimly.
---
“Wood Release!”
The scene shifted to a remote area in the Land of Waves, where a transparent purple barrier in the shape of a tall rectangular prism suddenly formed.
Inside the barrier lay a dense forest, where the sounds of battle echoed.
Within the forest, Tenzō—captured earlier by Izayoi’s Shadow Clone—was unleashing Wood Release techniques. From his arms sprouted countless wooden vines, slithering like a nest of snakes toward a young man clad in a black cloak. The lower half of the youth’s face was wrapped in white bandages, revealing only a pair of crimson eyes.
The attacker stood motionless as the vines coiled around him. But the moment they secured their grip, the youth dissolved into crimson powder.
The next instant, Tenzō took a palm strike to his back. Black, tadpole-shaped seals spread across his body, instantly paralyzing him.
Then the youth materialized before him, executing the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms in a blur. With a final strike of the Eight Trigrams Air Palm, the battle ended.
The youth gazed down at Tenzō, who lay coughing blood, then turned and walked away.
“Treat his injuries.”
As soon as he left, a man’s voice rang out in the forest.
A moment later, a girl wearing the same black cloak and a white mask knelt beside Tenzō, placing her palm on his chest to administer medical chakra.
“Cough… Who are you people?” Tenzō rasped, his body immobilized by sealing techniques and chakra pathways blocked. “If you think torturing me will make me talk, you’re wasting your time. Kill me now.”
The girl didn’t answer.
After stabilizing his condition, she pried open his mouth and shoved a soldier pill inside. Then she stood and left.
Soon, the youth reappeared, releasing Tenzō’s seals and giving him time to recover his mobility.
Tenzō had grown numb to this routine.
For days, this boy had tormented him relentlessly.
After surviving the Repulsive Force Storm in the underground base, Tenzō had expected death. Instead, he awoke trapped in a barrier, forced into daily sparring with this youth.
At first, the boy had only mastered the Five Chakra Natures. Then he began using the Hyuga’s Gentle Fist—yet his eyes weren’t Byakugan, but the legendary Shōgan, a bloodline that could counter Byakugan. Sealing techniques and advanced elemental jutsu followed.
The boy’s growth rate astounded Tenzō. In under five days, his strength had shifted from evenly matched to utterly dominant.
Yet the boy never killed him. The barrier’s creator seemed uninterested in execution or interrogation either. Every time they injured him, they sent the masked girl to heal him, even feeding him soldier pills to restore his strength.
It was maddening!
But as long as there was a sliver of hope, Tenzō refused to surrender, fighting relentlessly to find an escape.
As Ranmaru and Tenzō prepared for another clash, Izayoi’s Shadow Clone outside the barrier spoke to Karin.
“You can return now, Karin.”
“Izayoi-sama, don’t you need my help anymore?” Karin asked, hesitating.
“Actually, I have good news,” Izayoi smiled. “The Fifth Hokage of Konoha will soon take office. My original body will come find you soon to recommend you for Konoha’s medical corps. Go prepare for your return.”
“Really?!” Karin’s eyes lit up. “I’ll go pack right away!”
“Thanks for your hard work,” Izayoi nodded. “This is what you deserve.”
“No, it’s my duty,” Karin waved cheerfully. “I’ll go prepare. Let me know if you need anything!”
“See you.”
Whether by fate or sheer persistence, two hours after Karin’s departure, Izayoi—having forced Ranmaru and Tenzō into three more battles—finally saw a purple light beam erupt from Tenzō.
In that moment, Izayoi felt a weight lift from his shoulders.
Finally! This cursed drop rate… Was it because it’s Wood Release? He cursed inwardly.
But he knew the truth: the new system favored higher drop rates for kills over mere defeats.
Now that he’d finally obtained a technique to counter the Mayfly Technique, Izayoi—already in Transformation Technique form—immediately ordered his Human Puppet to dismantle the Four Symbols Barrier. He approached Tenzō, who lay paralyzed by the latest chakra seal.
“Going to kill me?” Tenzō asked, bracing for death.
“Thanks for your cooperation. Now rest for a few years,” Izayoi said, pressing his palm to Tenzō’s head and sealing his consciousness.
He retrieved a scroll and summoned a stone coffin Karin had brought. After sealing Tenzō inside, he reinforced the coffin with additional seals. Then he carved a hidden chamber into a mountain, placed the coffin within, and sealed the entrance before returning to the Ninja World with his puppet.
The moment he arrived, the Shadow Clone dissolved into white smoke, transferring control of the Human Puppet back to his original body.
