Chapter 90: The Guide
Chapter 90: The Guide
A man in a white coat named Huang Shiqi was scolded harshly, and instead of arguing back, he timidly asked, "Captain Xuan Wu, what should we do now?"
The Machinery Drought Sect had a strict hierarchy with the Heaven, Earth, Mystic, and Yellow ranks, each subordinate to the other. This meant that Captain Xuan Wu was likely the direct superior of Huang Shiqi.
At this moment, after being fooled by the three young ones, it was normal for him to be reprimanded. If not for the ongoing battle, the consequences might not have been limited to just a reprimand.
Captain Xuan Wu glared at Huang Shiqi and then waved his hand, pointing in the direction where Chu Xiran and her companions had fled. "What else can we do? Hurry and catch up, don't let them get away!"
The clues here had led to a clear understanding of the situation. This place was most likely not the true Sealed Land, as it was just a deceptive formation, a ploy to mislead.
The true Sealed Land was likely elsewhere. Thinking about how his subordinates had been fooled and manipulated without their knowledge, he couldn't help but feel his anger burning.
Huang Shiqi immediately realized this as well and quickly shifted the blame onto Chu Xiran and her companions. "Dare to mock the Machinery Drought Sect, and you three brats will pay with your lives!"
After a brief discussion, they wasted no more time. They transformed their five robot companions back into helicopters and took off in pursuit.
Chu Xiran and her companions were running away, having already covered some distance towards the western suburbs. When they looked back, they saw the five helicopters following them again.
Niu Fenjin heard the sound of the rotors spinning and turned around, only to be startled. "How did they catch up again?"
Chu Xiran, however, remained calm. She removed her headphones and spoke calmly, "We were probably discovered."
"I'm not stupid enough to wear electronic devices in front of the Machinery Drought Sect members." As she spoke, she tossed away her communication device like it was worthless.
"Er, this wasn't your plan, was it?" Niu Fenjin, seeing this, also discarded his communication device. As he realized what had happened, his face filled with confusion and disbelief. "And what did they discover?"
Chu Xiran glanced at him, seeing his bewildered expression. "They discovered that the previous factory area wasn't the Sealed Land."
Niu Fenjin's lips twitched upon hearing this. "How could you keep something like this from me?"
Chu Xiran ignored Niu Fenjin's complaints and continued, "It wasn't intentional. Our superiors specifically instructed me not to tell you, saying that your personality is too loud and unreliable!"
"I almost couldn't hold it in," Niu Fenjin thought, a black line appearing on his forehead. He nearly cursed out loud.
Zhu Bingqing was about to speak up in complaint as well, as she had been kept in the dark too. But seeing Niu Fenjin's embarrassed expression, she felt a sense of satisfaction.
There was no need to dwell on it.
Moreover, she understood why the elders of the three clans had only informed Chu Xiran about this matter.
Chu Xiran's usual demeanor was indeed the most composed.
For such a significant operation, strict confidentiality was understandable.
Whoosh!
Just as the three were running for their lives, two missiles shot straight towards them from the distant sky, moving at incredible speed.
"Seed Ensnarement!" Chu Xiran commanded without hesitation, ordering the Hundred Vine Monster to counterattack.
She didn't expect the attack to be effective, just hoping it would serve as some obstruction.
However, the outcome surprised her. The five seeds formed a net that trapped the two missiles.
Two missiles were instantly entangled and exploded in mid-air by five seeds that sprouted and transformed into a vine net.
Chu Xiran let out a long sigh upon seeing this.
Fortunately, after these robots regained their helicopter bodies, their abilities decreased significantly. Otherwise, the previous "Seed Ensnarement" would have never been able to detonate two missiles.
Not only Chu Xiran, but Zhu Bingqing and Bull Vigor also noticed this obvious change in battle strength.
They too commanded their companion beasts to attack while retreating, but their pace did not slow down much.
The three were quick-witted, but the other five were not fools either. Upon discovering the weakness of the helicopter robots, they acted decisively, instantly ordering the three helicopters to plummet.
As they fell, their bodies twisted and reassembled, and by the time they landed, they had transformed into three robot statues.
The three helicopters changed forms, losing their flight capabilities, speed, and agility advantages, but their combat power was unleashed.
The other two helicopters continued to maintain their aerial pursuit, creating interference, and before long, the three, along with their nine companion beasts, were truly caught up with.
Realizing their inability to escape, the three formed an array once more, preparing to face the enemy. Since escape was impossible, continuing to expose their backs to the enemy would only be more dangerous.
Bull Vigor glanced at the five approaching robot statues and couldn't help but curse, "Damn, no respect for the rules of combat!"
He looked at Chu Xiran, seeking his opinion, "What should we do now?"
Chu Xiran helplessly spread his hands, "This time, we can only accept our fate!"
Previously, they had taken advantage of the five's eagerness to find the Sealed Land, which allowed them to escape.
The five members of the Machinery Drought Sect, five Overlord-rank robots, if they truly intended to besiege the three, would make escape impossible.
"You have some cunning, actually knowing how to use electronic devices to set us up. But you forgot, in this world, strength is ultimately revered!" Captain Xuan Wu said coldly after catching up to the three.
With that, he waved his hand forcefully, and the five Overlord-rank helicopter robots immediately sprang into action, launching an attack.
At the critical moment, a voice, mature yet with a hint of laziness, suddenly rang out, "Thousand Vine Demon, use Wooden Dragon Technique!"
As the voice fell, hundreds and thousands of vines suddenly sprang from the surrounding forests and wilderness.
The vines gathered, forming the shape of an Oriental Dragon, and charged straight at the five helicopter robots.
Boom, boom, boom...
The Wooden Dragon swept across with an extremely domineering posture, directly knocking all five helicopter robots into the air.
Upon witnessing this, all three couldn't help but swallow, and Bull Vigor exclaimed, "This is... an Overlord-rank Wood-type companion beast. Judging by its appearance, it should still be an Overlord-rank beast."
The next moment, the reinforcement was delivered to the three by several vines that formed a staircase. Bull Vigor looked at the reinforcement and cautiously asked, "Who are you?"
The mature woman, dressed in a red jacket, wearing a yellow cap, and holding a small flag, glanced at Bull Vigor, "Can't you tell? I'm a guide!"
"Uh..." Bull Vigor listened to her words and looked at the woman's attire, unsure how to respond.
The woman before him did indeed look like a guide, but no guide had such terrifying combat power!
