Chapter 90: Super Vine Whip!
Chapter 90: Super Vine Whip!
How could such a cute and tiny Pokemon unleash such a vicious move?!
Milktank was left bewildered, perplexed, and questioning life itself.
Naoki, on the other hand, fell into deep thought.
Was that move Frenzy Plant or Power Whip? But as he thought about the descriptions of those moves, he felt that neither quite fit. Compared to those moves, it seemed more like an extreme manifestation of Vine Whip.
"This might be influenced by the abundant Grass-type energy within my Ride Sheep," Naoki speculated.
A quantitative change had led to a qualitative transformation.
Looking at the three glowing Ride Sheep, Naoki felt that they were on the verge of evolving. Perhaps this radiance was a sign of their impending evolution.
Having accumulated a vast amount of Grass-type energy during their time as Ride Sheep, Naoki dared not imagine what their strength would be like once they evolved into Ride Goats.
Gradually, the Ride Sheep's Grass-type energy was depleted, and the green glow that enveloped them began to fade away.
Only then did Naoki explain to them the purpose of their visit.
He introduced Milktank, who was standing by his side: "This is Milktank. It arrived at the ranch just yesterday and hasn't had the time to adapt to its new environment. I'd like to entrust its care to you."
"Meeeh!"
The three Ride Sheep eagerly accepted the task.
They would certainly take good care of their new companion!
"Hmm, very good."
Naoki nodded in satisfaction.
After leaving Milktank in the care of the Ride Sheep, Naoki decided to make a trip to town to inquire about automatic milking machines.
With more and more Milktank arriving, milking them by hand would become a time-consuming chore.
With that in mind, Naoki put away his tools and headed out. As he reached the front, he spotted Motostoke frolicking in the grass, pouncing at butterflies.
Naoki approached and said, "Motostoke, accompany me to town."
Motostoke stopped and immediately assumed its obedient motorcycle form, lying on the ground.
"Gaom!"
Just as Naoki was about to mount it, a loud roar echoed through the air.
"Agas!"
Naoki and Motostoke turned to see Golurk, who had appeared without them noticing.
It stomped over aggressively but then seemed to act pitifully, as if accusing Naoki: "Agas!"
Naoki: "..."
He suddenly remembered that yesterday, he had ridden Motostoke, so today it should be Golurk's turn.
Naoki smacked his forehead and laughed sheepishly, "My apologies, with all the ranch work, it slipped my mind."
"Agas!" All is forgiven!
Because he had been helping with the milk earlier, Golurk had transformed into its battle form for convenience.
Now that it was to accompany Naoki to town, it transformed back and proudly signaled for Naoki to mount it.
Naoki reluctantly climbed onto its back.
Seeing this, Motostoke across the way wore a forlorn expression.
"Gaom..."
Naoki: "..."
At that moment, Naoki was incredibly grateful that Dragonite wasn't as clingy as Motostoke and Golurk, or else choosing between three different means of transportation would be a real headache.
Perhaps this was the trouble with having too many Pokemon?
Fortunately, none of them were possessive to the point of wanting to monopolize their trainer. That would have been a real disaster.
For now, Naoki could still manage.
It took some coaxing to cheer up the dejected Motostoke, but eventually, it recovered its spirits and went back to chasing butterflies in the grass.
Naoki sat atop Golurk and exclaimed, "I'm exhausted!"
Golurk began striding forward with its sturdy legs, heading toward Soothing Springs Town.
According to some, humans in this world are also considered a type of Pokemon. Moreover, there have been cases of humans marrying and having children with Pokemon... How terrifying!
Naoki could only shake his head at the thought, thinking that while sexual preferences were a personal matter, he still recommended that person to seek professional help.
Golurk couldn't provide a definite answer to his question.
However, Naoki had only asked casually and didn't dwell on it further. His attention soon turned to his arms, which had been feeling heavier lately.
Between the demanding ranch work, the high-calorie milk, and the greasy meat patties, he had gained quite a bit of weight since his arrival in this world.
Additionally, regularly helping his Ride Sheep with milking had effectively exercised his arm muscles. Naoki felt that if this continued, he would soon transform into a robust country farmer.
Just then, a youth wearing a duck-billed hat with a Litleo on his shoulder ran past.
It was odd how young people these days ran with their heads held high, not bothering to watch the path ahead.
Naoki turned to look at the energetic figure and couldn't help but sigh. Time sure flies, he thought. He was no longer a young man himself!
———
"Xiao Dai, did you just see something running past?"
The youth with the duck-billed hat stopped in his tracks, looking back at the rural path with confusion.
The Litleo on his shoulder opened its mouth, and a wisp of flame burst from its nostrils.
"That's odd. Was it my imagination?" Mou Ping muttered. He quickly shifted his focus back to the Pikipek flying leisurely in the sky above. "Never mind, forget about it. Let's keep chasing that Pikipek!"
Pikipek, the Sparrow Pokemon, with a dual Normal and Flying type, and its final evolution being the majestic Braviary.
Today was Mou Ping's third day since leaving the Orange Academy. He had encountered this much-desired Pikipek while traveling through Zhibin Town, and he had been chasing it ever since.
This rural path exuded a rustic charm, with sparse trees and grassy fields lining the sides.
While there were other Pokemon dwelling in the area, Mou Ping had eyes only for the Pikipek.
Suddenly, the Pikipek perched on a large tree, providing Mou Ping with an opportunity.
His eyes lit up with excitement at the sight.
Breathless, he quickly commanded, "Now's our chance! Litleo, use Spark!"
Litleo aimed at the target and unleashed a burst of sparks from its mouth, shooting them toward the Pikipek.
"Whoosh!"
The sparks missed their mark, and the resulting noise startled the Pikipek. It quickly scanned its surroundings before flapping its wings and taking off.
"Ah! I failed!"
Mou Ping grit his teeth, feeling a bit disheartened.
However, the image of himself riding a majestic Braviary across the Padia region flashed in his mind, filling him with determination once more.
The chase continues!
With Litleo by his side, Mou Ping resumed his pursuit, sprinting forward.
Soon, they approached a fenced-in pasture ahead.
The Pikipek flew into the pasture and landed on the roof of a wooden house.
Mou Ping halted at the entrance of the pasture and looked up, noticing a sign that read "Naoki's Ranch."
He peered inside and spotted a Pokemon standing in a farm field, using Rain Dance.
His eyes widened as he recognized the Pokemon.
It was... a Dragonite?!
