"This game is actually divided into three factions. One is the 'Monsters,' which includes bandits, gangsters, refugees, horse bandits, and the like. Many of them are humanoid monsters, looking similar to humans but appearing rather foolish."
"Then there are the NPCs, the so-called natives. These guys are cunning, just like normal people. Last time, I tried to eat a free meal and got caught. Why make the NPCs so smart?"
"Lastly, there are the players, also known as Outsiders. Don't take advantage of your player status and misbehave. Players only have two lives. If you get killed for trying to eat a free meal, it's a huge loss."
Zhao Yue'er earnestly explained to Lu HaiKong, who listened attentively. Alas, being overly earnest, especially in strange situations, can lead to trouble. Lu HaiKong's sixth sense proved correct as he noticed Yue'er mentioning free meals twice and recalling that she had run away from home without money. His entire being tensed up.
"Hey, you said you'd treat me to a meal, but you're not planning to eat and run, are you?" Hey, hey, hey, the girl was earnestly introducing the game to him; why was he focusing on such a strange detail?
Zhao Yue'er tilted her head, looking confused and cute. "Why would I eat and run?"
Lu HaiKong heaved a sigh of relief. This girl seemed somewhat reliable.
"But you have money, right?" Zhao Yue'er asked.
Indeed, Lu HaiKong's sixth sense was spot on. The girl before him was indeed trouble. He could almost see himself turning into a golden meal ticket in her eyes.
Fortunately, Lu HaiKong was just a foodie, stingy when it came to food but not with money. He just thought the 'food' before him wasn't good.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Zhao Yue'er was puzzled by Lu HaiKong's sudden intense gaze.
"I want to remember your features!" Lu HaiKong declared solemnly.
"Ugh, why are you staring at my features? It's embarrassing!" Zhao Yue'er's heart fluttered, was this the legendary love at first sight? Was this a proposal? How exciting!
"Don't move, I need to remember this. I must never marry a girl like you, or I'll be unlucky for life... Ah!"
Before he could finish, Lu HaiKong's face collided with Zhao Yue'er's fist, and he found himself flying three meters into the air, performing a graceful 1440-degree spin before crashing to the ground. This tragic story teaches us that single dogs are indeed born that way.
However, Zhao Yue'er was a lively and cheerful girl, quickly forgetting the unpleasantness. As for Lu HaiKong, the one who got punched, it wasn't so easy to forget.
'Hmph, she hit me just because I said I wouldn't marry her. Another woman lusting after my beauty!' Alas, his AQ spirit never wavers.
Zhao Yue'er suddenly remembered, "Oh, by the way, Lu HaiKong, what's your profession? I'm a Warrior, you know."
"Warrior? What kind of profession is that? I'm a bandit!" Lu HaiKong proudly declared, though one could only wonder what a mere bandit had to be so proud of.
"A bandit? You're a bandit?" Yue'er stopped in her tracks, her big eyes glistening as she stared at Lu HaiKong.
Lu HaiKong felt extremely uncomfortable under Yue'er's gaze, for he keenly sensed that this girl's eyes were filled with a mixture of curiosity and a hint of schadenfreude.
"What's wrong?" Lu HaiKong asked, feeling a bit anxious.
"Nothing. It's just that I've never seen anyone dare to change their profession to a bandit before, so I'm just a little curious," Yue'er said with a mischievous smile.
"What's wrong with being a bandit?"
"It seems you don't know that bandits are considered the most dangerous profession in the world. Once your identity as an outsider bandit is exposed, many officials will be eager to play a game of 'catch and kill' with you," Yue'er explained with a hint of delight in her voice.
Lu HaiKong's face remained expressionless. "Can you please not say such embarrassing lines so casually?" he said, already drifting off topic again.
