Chapter 894: No Good, No Good...
Chapter 894: No Good, No Good...
"Steam Impact!"
As Kuro raised his hand, William swiftly slammed his Fist into the ground.
With a thunderous boom, two columns of steam erupted from the ground beside Kuro. These steam pillars surged upward with tremendous impact force, aiming straight at Kuro.
Kuro leaned backward, effortlessly dodging the two ascending steam columns.
"Overheat Sword!!"
The steam columns suddenly transformed into two massive blades, crossing at their centers to form an 'X' symbol before slashing toward Kuro.
This was the annoying thing about Logia-type Devil Fruit users. Although Armored Haki couldn't cover natural elements outside their physical body, if manipulated skillfully, the elements' power could rival or even exceed the force of Haki-enhanced strength.
After all, only a rare few in this world could master Haki to an exceptional degree.
Strong individuals like William would always rise to prominence wherever they went.
From the moment a Logia user appeared, they overshadowed most others.
The scorching heat radiating from the great blades convinced Kuro that if struck, his body would suffer severe burns.
As the blades descended, Sverre, who had been fighting against Klah, suddenly understood the danger. His body flickered as he evaded Klah's wisp-like Calm Step, silently reappearing beside William.
The massive blades slashed downward. At that moment, Sazil abruptly felt an intense, scorching pain ripple through his body. He shouted, "Kuro Vice Admiral! Watch out!!"
"Explosion!!"
Boom!!!
William suddenly roared. Before Kuro could react, the two massive blades erupted in violent Explosions. A searing shockwave slammed into the ground around Kuro. Instantly, the surrounding trees ignited without flame, engulfed in fire that began sweeping through the woodland.
The flames combined with the steam, triggering more violent Explosions that shook the area with deafening blasts.
Montblanc, lying on the ground, grinned as he looked at the dense steam ahead.
He had seen William use this move before. Back then, it wasn't giant blades but a full-scale steam attack across the Grand Line that boiled the sea water. The enemy Pirate Ship had no survivors—neither crew nor vessel remained.
However, that previous attack was an area-wide effect. This time, since Montblanc and the others were present, using such a wide range would harm them too. Still, the current blast was sufficient.
"They're dead now, right?" Montblanc chuckled.
This was why he believed William could dominate the Grand Line—such immense strength ensured survival!
"No!"
After unleashing the attack, William, Elmira, and Sverre's expressions turned grave. Their Observation Haki detected no change in the aura from the explosion's epicenter.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a wisp of Black Radiance surged through the steam and flames. This Black Radiance carried an intense air pressure, forming a circular shockwave that dispersed the steam and extinguished the spreading forest fire, revealing the scene inside.
Kuro floated in midair, along with the Navy soldiers, standing on a piece of lifted earth. Around them hovered a circular shield with faint tortoise-shell patterns, above which coiled a dragon-like serpent.
"Nice job", Kuro stared at William, gritting his teeth. "I didn't expect you to master this move."
When Sazil warned him, Kuro swiftly raised the soil to lift the nearby Navy soldiers. Then he used the Black Tortoise technique to block the Explosion. Had he delayed even slightly, they would have been hit. His subordinates might have survived by reacting instantly to form protection, but his Navy soldiers wouldn't have been so fortunate.
Kuro couldn't comprehend it—William, his neighbor, had already amazed him with his achievements. But his strength? His control over steam? How was this possible?
This move was Steam Explosion!
Did people in this world even possess such intellect?
Kuro glared at William, his gaze making William instinctively step back as childhood memories resurfaced.
"Tsk!"
William bit his tongue, forcing himself to dismiss the fearful memory. Steam began enveloping his body.
Suddenly, Kuro spoke, "Heavenly King Gaidihu?"
William didn't react, maintaining his guard.
Hmm. Perhaps he was too young—this man was part of a new generation.
"Odd Changes, Even Stays?"
No response.
Indeed. Likely never attended proper schooling or had forgotten.
"Old man's rotten plans?" Kuro asked again.
"Olipute?"
"Yi Gei Wo Li Giaogiao?!"
"Wotou, four for one copper coin, Hehe!"
"Spinach on Sale! Spinach on Sale!"
"Dame da yo, Dame!"
Lida twitched his ear, curious. "Kuro, what are you declining?"
Kuro rolled his eyes. "Nothing."
William suddenly realized, "Are you talking to me?"
A blue vein throbbed on Kuro's forehead. "Yes! You're dead meat!"
William shouted angrily, "Why are you cursing me?!"
Confirmed—this man wasn't his true hometown companion or even from the same region. He was merely a neighbor from Shell Town whom Kuro had never recognized.
"I not only curse you, I'll carve you up too! Wasting an old man's emotions!"
Kuro swung his blade fiercely. "Lion Bite!"
The air around William suddenly transformed into slash-like formations, instantly shredding him into steam. The same happened to his surrounding pirates, their bodies riddled with a dense network of cuts before being reduced to pieces.
"This... this can't be real! How is he so strong?!"
Elmira staggered backward, his body covered in wounds. Not built for physical combat, his physique was fragile. His specialty was sniping. He sensed danger when the slash came but couldn't evade, only managing to cover vital areas with Haki and endure the sudden spatial slicing.
Fortunately, the slash didn't cover the entire space—if it had, he'd surely be finished.
Sverre fared little better. Though quicker, even his speed couldn't match the attack's range. He dropped to his knees, his body marked by countless cuts.
As for Montblanc—he was lucky, outside Kuro's attack range.
William's steam dispersed before aggregating again, reforming his body.
"Not bad", Kuro tilted his head, eyes widening in surprise.
Except for this William, the other two had also sensed the danger—possessing Observation Haki, protective Haki, and Armament Haki.
Add that unarmed combat expert to the mix.
Where did the East Blue get such freaks, and without Bounty heads?
Kuro stared at William. "What's a man like you doing in the East Blue?"
