Chapter 893: The Dismissal Storm
Chapter 893: The Dismissal Storm
In the morning at the academy, in the principal's office.
"Professor Cobra actually had such a scheme."
Principal Samejima sat with his hands clasped, chin resting on them, his expression a little dazed.
The morning sun shone on his bald head through the window, and from a distance, his head seemed to be emitting a golden glow.
Just last night, Principal Samejima also learned of Professor Cobra's scheme.
The investigation team from the Hippocampus Group, invited by Yu Xuan, thoroughly searched the facility where Professor Cobra had been hiding. They found terrifying intentions from the remaining data—Professor Cobra's plan to hold a "Death Duel" tournament at the academy.
It was clear that he wanted to borrow the vitality of the teachers and students in this academy to resurrect an evil and terrifying sprite.
The investigation team also found a large number of wristwatch devices in the facility. After the Hippocampus Group's identification, it was confirmed that these devices would cause a huge burden on the bodies of the duelists who wore them. After the duel, they might collapse, fall into a coma, and suffer permanent after-effects, and in severe cases, it could even be life-threatening.
If things were allowed to develop to that point, it would indeed be a disastrous situation that would be difficult to resolve.
Furthermore, the evidence currently collected only revealed Professor Cobra's intention to collect energy to resurrect the terrifying sprite. What the sprite would do after its resurrection and the potential threats it might pose were still unknown.
However, it was foreseeable that the situation could have been far worse than it currently was.
Coincidentally, Principal Samejima had a business trip scheduled in a couple of days. If he were to leave, he might not be present if something happened at the academy.
Thinking of this, Principal Samejima rubbed his temples, feeling a sense of foreboding.
Fortunately, Yu Xuan, a student at this academy, had uncovered Professor Cobra's scheme beforehand. Otherwise, who knows what the outcome would have been.
But what was going on with this academy? Why was it so easy to attract all sorts of trouble and conspiracies?
Just as he was thinking this, the door to the principal's office opened, and Instructors Cronus and Napoleon walked in side by side.
"I've said it before, we're an elite academy!" Instructor Napoleon shouted, "Do you understand what an elite academy means? It's a place that only cultivates the very best, with no room for stragglers or the weakest!"
Instructor Cronus angrily said, "Even so, you can't just abolish the Red Dormitory!"
Napoleon asked, "Why not?"
Cronus: "Then what's next after you abolish the Red Dormitory? Will you abolish the next underperforming dormitory too?"
Napoleon, full of righteousness: "That depends on the situation!"
The two instructors argued all the way, seemingly unaware that they had entered the principal's office.
The principal was getting a headache from their bickering and frowned, "Both of you, I'm not in the mood. Quiet down."
But the instructors were in the heat of their argument and didn't hear him.
Cronus: "Speaking of which, I've had my eye on you for a while now!"
Napoleon rolled up his sleeves, "Is that so? Well, what a coincidence, so have I. You look like a Greedy Jug, with no semblance of a role model for your students."
Cronus, in a rage: "Who are you calling a Greedy Jug?!"
The two instructors argued louder and louder, completely ignoring the principal beside them.
The principal closed his eyes, gathering his patience for a few seconds, like a volcano building up energy.
And then, the next moment, he erupted.
"Enough!"
The principal slammed his hand on the desk and stood up.
"You're giving me a headache! Get out, both of you, scram!"
The two instructors were startled and hugged each other in shock, exclaiming in unison, "Goodness gracious!"
After lunch that day, Yu Xuan was preparing to take Jim, his new recruit, to the laboratory for a look.
Yu Xuan held a favorable opinion of Jim, not just for his dueling skills but also for his research abilities, especially in the field of exploration and excavation.
As mentioned earlier, Jim was an archaeology enthusiast, evident from his Fossil Deck. In the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, archaeologists could unearth ancient and powerful Stone Slabs or discover seemingly ordinary monsters with extraordinary New Outfits.
Archaeology was a field worth paying attention to. Although Yu Xuan's laboratory was already quite large, its focus was primarily on card development, and they had not ventured into archaeological site exploration. However, Yu Xuan had always wanted to expand into this area, and with Jim's addition, he might consider establishing a dedicated team for it in the future.
As they walked out of the cafeteria, they soon encountered Judai and his friends after a few steps. The group was engaged in an intense discussion.
Upon spotting Yu Xuan and Jim, they brightened up.
"Oh, Yu Xuan and the new student!" Judai greeted them enthusiastically, waving his hand.
"I heard something big happened!" Yu Xuan exclaimed.
"What big thing?" he asked curiously.
"Well..." Sho Marufuji poked his brother, "It's just a rumor, and it doesn't seem to be confirmed yet."
"Huh? Is that so?" Judai scratched his head.
"What's the matter?" Yu Xuan inquired.
"It's about Professor Chronos and Instructor Napoleon," Sho explained, "I heard that they might be fired."
"Hmm, that's not surprising," Manjoume said, crossing his arms.
"These two have offended many students in the school, and there's a lot of resentment towards them. It's not impossible that they might face impeachment."
Sho Marufuji looked away, avoiding eye contact, "It's mainly because of you, Judai, that the instructors' attitudes have changed so drastically since you moved from the Blue Dorm to the Osiris Red."
Manjoume's face turned red, and he turned away, "You guys are so noisy!"
Yu Xuan furrowed his brows. If he followed the original storyline, Professor Napoleon, let alone Professor Chronos, wouldn't be fired until the very end. Could it be that his actions had altered the world's timeline?
Wait a minute.
He vaguely remembered an episode where two professors were rumored to be on the verge of dismissal.
"Hey, look over there. Is that them?" Judai's younger brother, Jounouchi, pointed towards the riverbank.
The group followed his gaze and saw two figures, one tall and thin, the other short and stout, sitting side by side on the deserted riverbank. Their silhouettes appeared desolate against the blue sea.
"It seems so!" Jounouchi exclaimed.
The group rushed towards them.
"Instructors!"
"Professor Chronos, Instructor Napoleon!"
The two instructors, looking dismal, lifted their heads to glance at the group.
"Oh, it's you guys," they acknowledged before returning their gaze to the blue sea below, their expressions reminiscent of heartbreak.
Witnessing their reaction, the group was now almost certain the rumor was true.
"So," Judai asked cautiously, "Is the rumor true? Are the professors really getting fired?"
The two professors nearly fell into the sea in shock.
"What? How did you find out?!"
