Chapter 892: Co-Habitation and End of the School Year
Chapter 892: Co-Habitation and End of the School Year
Ivan didn’t bother with further explanations but turned to the group. “Hermione, Harry, and Ron, you must be careful this summer. Although Grindelwald has left Britain, there’s no guarantee he won’t return.”
“Are you worried he might target us?” Hermione asked.
Ivan nodded, a hint of apology in his voice. “There’s a possibility. After all, I may be the only Wizard in the Wizarding World capable of standing up to him, and you’re all my friends. You might get caught in the crossfire.”
“Even without you, Grindelwald wouldn’t necessarily leave us alone,” Ron shook his head and said. “My father says that over fifty years ago, he wanted to enslave all Muggles and Wizards. He’s a Dark Lord even more terrifying than Voldemort, and it was Professor Dumbledore who stopped him back then.”
Mentioning Dumbledore instantly cooled the atmosphere. Despite the headmaster’s funeral being over a month ago, Hermione and the others still struggled to accept the reality.
Ivan, who was the instigator, rubbed his nose, feeling somewhat awkward. Strictly speaking, Dumbledore had died during their duel.
Shaking off those thoughts, Ivan quickly changed the subject to their summer plans.
“Tomorrow, I’ll be moving to Sirius Black’s place. Ron and Professor Lupin will also be staying there for a while. It should be quite safe,” Harry said, a hint of excitement in his voice.
With Voldemort dead, he no longer needed to stay with the Dursleys and could openly live with Sirius Black.
“That’s great,” Ivan smiled and congratulated him. If he wasn’t mistaken, the Black Family Manor was still the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, protected by the Fidelius Charm.
Even though the Secret-Keeper, Dumbledore, had fallen, the magic hadn’t completely disappeared. However, the risk of exposure had increased with more people knowing the secret.
“What about you, Hermione?” Ivan turned to her, his concern evident. Hermione’s safety had always been a worry for him.
Although the Ministry of Magic had stationed several Aurors near the Granger family’s home, Ivan still felt uneasy.
Grindelwald’s power was extraordinary, and if he launched a surprise attack, the Aurors might not even have time to react before Grindelwald dealt with them easily.
Similarly, his Magic Mark couldn’t guarantee Hermione’s safety 100%. The incident where Voldemort had abducted Harry had taught Ivan a valuable lesson—blind confidence was not a good thing.
“Grindelwald wouldn’t come to the Muggle world to capture someone, would he?” Hermione hesitated.
“Better safe than sorry. Even a one percent chance is too high a risk!” Ivan said with utmost seriousness.
There was no room for regret in the real world. If Grindelwald decided to capture Hermione to threaten him, Ivan wouldn’t know what to do.
“Why don’t you ask your parents to move in with me for the summer? Hermione?” Ivan suggested after a moment’s thought.
Hermione was taken aback by Ivan’s bold proposal and felt a bit flustered. She had considered visiting Ivan’s home, but inviting her parents along was a different matter entirely...
Wouldn’t that be moving too fast?
“It’s a special time, Hermione. You don’t want your parents to be in constant danger, do you?” Ivan earnestly urged her.
Hermione hesitated for a moment before speaking hesitantly. "I can't... I can't guarantee they'll agree, but... I'll try to persuade them."
"Then it's settled!" Ivan said decisively.
Hermione shot Ivan a glare, even suspecting that he might have had this planned all along.
The four of them bickered and argued until it was time for lunch. After a quick meal, Ivan packed his bags and joined Harry and the others to board the Hogwarts Express and leave the school.
As the train whistled loudly, the end-of-year System Notification rang in his mind as usual.
[Up to today, your performance for this academic year is as follows...
Class Evaluation: Perfect
Reward: 200 House Points
O.W.Ls, N.E.W.T. Results: Dark Magic Defence Against the Dark Arts (Outstanding), Transfiguration (Outstanding), History of Magic (Outstanding)... Potions (Outstanding)
Reward: 2400 House Points
Honors: Gryffindor House Cup (100 House Points), Hogwarts Outstanding Student Award (300 House Points).
Total Reward: 3000 House Points]
Seeing the total of 3000 House Points, Ivan was somewhat surprised. This was the most House Points he had ever received since getting the System.
Even the Excellent Student Award that Pierce had given him was counted by the System, which completely exceeded Ivan's expectations.
If this was the case, he could just have Pierce award him every day, and House Points would come pouring in...
Ivan felt a bit greedy, but then he thought about the experiments he had conducted while transformed into Dumbledore, and he dismissed this impractical idea.
The System seemed to have a sophisticated judgment mechanism, making it not so easy to exploit bugs.
Moreover, with the mental acceleration from Ravenclaw's Diadem, earning House Points was no longer as important as it used to be.
The only thing that could significantly boost his strength was Legendary Points.
In fact, after completing the Quest to unify Britain, the accumulated Legend Points had already reached six, ready for the next Bloodline Fusion.
However, Ivan had no immediate plans to fuse with a sixth bloodline.
First, his last bloodline fusion was only four months ago, and he was still in the early stages of developing the Phoenix Bloodline. Dumbledore had also advised him that instead of pursuing new abilities, he should focus on delving deeper into his existing powers.
Second, there were no suitable fusion candidates at the moment. Mermaids, Centaurs, Thestrals, and House-Elves did not quite appeal to him. While Giants were powerful, the Bloodline Magic he would likely gain would be related to physical attributes, which was not the optimal choice for Ivan, who did not want to become a brute.
The next bloodline he truly wanted to fuse with was the Thunderbird. These magical creatures had the ability to sense danger and control the weather, and a mere flap of their wings could bring a storm or a downpour of rain and lightning.
Such formidable abilities naturally made Ivan very envious, but Thunderbirds were rare, and their native habitat was in North America. Their ability to sense danger made adult Thunderbirds extremely difficult to capture.
Ivan could only hope that the Ministry of Magic would be more effective and find the Thunderbird's whereabouts as soon as possible...
