Chapter 88: Simulating True Intent, Copying Ninja Kakashi, Shadowflame Lv2
Chapter 88: Simulating True Intent, Copying Ninja Kakashi, Shadowflame Lv2
【Weapon Strike Lv1 (128/300)】
This was the skill Xue Jing successfully activated just one day after he formally started practicing the weapon-based fighting style.
With his deep understanding of martial arts, it was easy for him to grasp the essence of Weapon Strike.
Xue Jing gripped the long sword in his hand and twirled his wrist, creating a flourishing blade technique.
This skill, however, did not grant him any direct sword techniques.
Based on Xue Jing's observations over the past two days, Weapon Strike gave him a slight improvement in physical fitness, comparable to the Health Preservation skill.
The main enhancement was in the subtle and profound feel when holding a weapon.
When gripping the sword, he felt like a natural-born swordsman, the blade extending his arm, and wielding it gave him a light and agile feeling as if he were using his fingers.
Infusing his strength into the sword was also exceptionally smooth, without any hindrance.
This made his learning progress unbelievably fast. In just a day, he had a profound understanding of the basics of swordsmanship and could already apply it in actual combat.
"Little junior brother, shall we continue?"
Chen Fugang asked with a smile.
Xue Jing held the long sword and nodded, "Let's continue, Senior Brother Chen."
Because using a sword required a spacious area, the two of them were practicing Weapon Strike combat training in the training hall.
It was rare for the two direct disciples to appear, and even rarer for them to be on the arena, hacking at each other with swords, so the ordinary disciples naturally gathered around to watch.
"He's that little senior brother, Xue Jing, who was in the news... He's so damn cool."
Someone exclaimed in admiration.
"I started learning martial arts at the Canglong Dojo because I saw that news article."
"What do you mean, 'he's so damn cool'... Can't you talk properly?"
A female disciple rolled her eyes at him.
"Everyone, stop talking. The two senior brothers are starting again!"
On the arena, the clanging of metal rang out.
Xue Jing took a step forward, holding the sword in both hands, and approached Chen Fugang, slashing upward at an oblique angle.
"Clang!"
Chen Fugang simply lifted his sword and deflected Xue Jing's attack to the side, then turned his wrist and took advantage of the momentum to slash at Xue Jing.
Xue Jing blinked, forcibly stopping his sword mid-strike, and withdrew it to block.
The two of them continued to attack and defend, their long swords clashing incessantly.
"Clang!"
Xue Jing raised his sword to block and was locked in a stalemate with Chen Fugang.
"Clang, clang—"
The two long swords vibrated slightly with each collision, and Xue Jing's eyes suddenly narrowed.
"Senior Brother Chen, be careful."
As soon as the words left his mouth, his pupils turned red, as if stained with blood.
Chen Fugang was slightly startled, but he felt the long sword in his hand suddenly become heavier.
"Clang!"
Chen Fugang involuntarily took a few steps back. Just as he was about to speak, he saw his little junior brother already closing in.
What followed was a terrifying barrage of sword strikes like a pouring rain.
Chen Fugang quickly raised his sword to block, and the training hall echoed with the continuous sound of metal clashing.
Each strike was heavier than the last, with no sign of stopping.
After ten seconds, Chen Fugang was still relaxed.
After twenty seconds, Chen Fugang's brow furrowed slightly.
After thirty seconds, a serious look appeared in Chen Fugang's eyes.
He looked at Xue Jing's blood-red pupils and felt a sense of concern.
'The Asura Sword Intent... Master actually taught this to the little junior brother?'
"Crack—"
The long sword in Chen Fugang's hand couldn't withstand the continuous strikes and broke.
His expression changed slightly, and just as he was about to call a stop, he saw that Xue Jing had already sheathed his sword and turned around, standing calmly with his pupils returned to their normal black color.
Chen Fugang was stunned.
"Little junior brother, are you... in control of yourself?"
Xue Jing gave him a strange look, "Of course."
Chen Fugang scratched his head and thought about it before nodding, "I guess I was overthinking it..."
Indeed, Master was old and cunning; how could he not consider this?
If the little junior brother didn't have the ability to control the Asura Sword Intent, Master wouldn't have taught it to him.
Chen Fugang marveled, "Little junior brother, you're truly a monster... Not only do you have exceptional martial arts talent, but your talent for 'stillness qi' is also remarkable."
"Master said that the killing intent generated by the Asura Sword is the pinnacle of 'dynamic qi'. Yet, you can still maintain the 'balance of stillness and dynamic', gaining the enhancement of killing intent while being able to control it completely at will."
"The third senior brother had issues because he came into contact with the Asura Sword. Now, he's in the Inner Ring City, cultivating his mind and character with that 'Asura Chen'."
Xue Jing's eyebrows furrowed.
This was the first time he had heard about this matter.
"Little junior brother, how long have you been practicing the Asura Sword Intent?"
Chen Fugang asked.
"Just these past two days." Xue Jing replied casually.
"Ah?" Chen Fugang was completely stunned.
Oh, I see. Well, let's continue with the story then!
Ryan woke up the next morning, his head throbbing. He groaned, remembering the events of the previous night. The argument with Laura, the revelation of her affair with Ryan's best friend, Franny. It had been a shocking turn of events, and Ryan was still reeling from the betrayal.
As he sat up in bed, he noticed a note on the bedside table. It read: "Ryan, we need to talk. Meet me at the cafe where we had our first date. - Laura"
Ryan sighed. He knew he couldn't avoid this conversation any longer. Getting out of bed, he splashed water on his face and headed out to the cafe.
When he arrived, he spotted Laura sitting at a table for two, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She looked up as he approached, her expression a mix of sadness and determination.
"Hi," she said softly. "Thanks for coming."
Ryan nodded, taking a seat across from her. "What's this about, Laura?" he asked, his tone guarded.
"I know you're hurt, Ryan," she began. "And I don't blame you. What I did was unforgivable. But I want to try and make things right between us. For us to move forward."
"How?" Ryan asked, his voice laced with skepticism. "How can we possibly move past this, Laura?"
Laura took a deep breath, steeling herself. "I want to give you something that was taken from you, Ryan. I want to give you back your best friend."
Ryan's eyes widened in surprise. "What do you mean?"
"I've been in contact with Franny," Laura explained. "She's agreed to come back and talk with you, to try and repair the friendship you once shared. She's on her way here right now."
Ryan felt a surge of emotions hearing this. Hope, doubt, and a hint of excitement. "Are you sure about this, Laura?" he asked, his voice softening. "After everything, can we really go back to how things were?"
Laura reached across the table, taking his hand in hers. "I know it won't be easy, Ryan," she said, her eyes shining with determination. "But I love you, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this right. For us, and for Franny."
Just then, the cafe door opened, revealing a familiar figure. Franny stood there, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Ryan and Laura. Her expression was a mix of nerves and apprehension as she began to make her way towards their table.
Ryan felt his heart race as he watched Franny approach. The memories of their friendship, the good times they had shared, came flashing back. He felt a tug in his chest, a mix of emotions warring within him.
"Hey, Ryan," Franny said softly as she reached the table, her voice thick with emotion. "It's been a while."
Ryan nodded, his throat feeling tight. "It has," he managed to say.
"Can we talk?" Franny asked, her gaze flicking between Ryan and Laura. "In private, I mean."
Ryan and Laura exchanged a glance, understanding the weight of this moment. "Of course," Ryan said, his voice hoarse. "Let's go outside."
The three of them stepped out into the crisp autumn air, the cafe's warm glow spilling onto the sidewalk. Ryan felt a mix of emotions as he faced Franny, the woman who had once been his closest friend.
"I know I don't deserve this, Ryan," Franny began, her voice shaking. "But I want to apologize. For everything. I was a terrible friend, and I betrayed your trust."
Ryan listened, his expression unreadable. "I'm not sure what to say, Franny," he admitted. "It's been a while since I've seen you."
"I understand," Franny said softly. "And I don't expect forgiveness right away. But I hope, in time, we can find our way back to each other."
Ryan considered her words, his gaze flicking to Laura and then back to Franny. "I can't promise anything, Franny," he said, his voice steady. "But I'm willing to try. For Laura, and for the friendship we once shared."
Franny's eyes shone with unshed tears as she nodded. "Thank you, Ryan," she whispered. "It means more than you know."
The three of them stood there for a moment, the silence heavy with unspoken emotions. Finally, Ryan spoke up, his voice laced with a mix of determination and hope. "Let's get some coffee," he suggested. "We've got a lot of catching up to do."
And with that, they turned back towards the cafe, ready to face the challenges and uncertainties that lay ahead together.
[End of Chapter]
Ning Fengwan raised an eyebrow as she watched Xue Jing pop a piece of fried pork rib into his mouth. "Well?" she asked.
"Invincible," Xue Jing replied, his mouth full.
Ning Fengwan nodded in satisfaction.
"By the way, Teacher Ning, I'll be heading to Feng City in a few days. Would you like to come with me?" Xue Jing asked casually as he continued eating.
Ning Fengwan looked at him, puzzled. "What are you going to do in Feng City?"
Xue Jing thought for a moment before explaining, "There's a mission from Mr. Wu... " He proceeded to tell her about Yukagirin and the GOD-519 incident in detail.
After listening to his explanation, Ning Fengwan nodded. "If it's just for the competition, it's not a big deal. I'll come with you." She then added softly, "As for deepening the fusion with Bastet, we need to be consistent."
Xue Jing chuckled.
Ning Fengwan's face turned pink, and she scolded him, "Stop laughing at me!"
"I'm not laughing at you," Xue Jing said sincerely. "I'm just thinking of something delightful."
Ning Fengwan glared at him. "You better be."
After a few more mouthfuls of food, Xue Jing casually added, "Also, while we're in Feng City, I can introduce you to my sister."
At the mention of meeting his family, Ning Fengwan's cat ears twitched, and she felt a sudden surge of nervousness.
"Umm... is there anything I need to prepare?" she asked anxiously.
Xue Jing glanced at her and understood what she was worrying about. He spoke gently, "Don't be nervous. My sister is a bit of a ditz... cough, I mean, she's very easy to get along with. You'll probably like her."
"Mmm..." Ning Fengwan blinked and continued eating, quietly murmuring an almost inaudible "okay."
She was quiet as a little wife.
...
That night, in the warmth of the bed.
Ning Fengwan remained in her human form, resting her head on Xue Jing's chest.
Her eyes were hazy, and she breathed softly, biting her lower lip as if enduring something. Her body would occasionally shudder.
And Xue Jing...
Xue Jing was pleasuring Ning Fengwan.
After a tense moment, a satisfied sigh escaped her lips.
Xue Jing looked at the panel and saw that his divinity had increased by over a dozen points, finally breaking the hundred mark and reaching one hundred and three.
He lowered his head and whispered in Ning Fengwan's ear, "Teacher Ning..."
Ning Fengwan lay limply on top of Xue Jing, her face bearing an expression of saintly contentment.
Hearing Xue Jing's whisper, she moved her lips and hesitated before softly saying, "This is the last time..."
After that, she turned around and burrowed into the blanket, seemingly busy with something.
A look of satisfaction appeared on Xue Jing's face as he propped his head up with one hand and opened the panel.
"Hmm—" he breathed softly.
For some reason, he took a quiet breath.
Perhaps the room was haunted, because the blanket suddenly started moving up and down, but Xue Jing dared not lift it to check. Instead, he focused on the panel to distract himself.
【Shadowflame Lv1 (Divinity Required to Upgrade: 103/100)】
After some hesitation, Xue Jing clicked on the upgrade button.
【Shadowflame Lv2 (Divinity Required to Upgrade: 3/300)】
He extended his index finger, and in the dim room, countless streams of black energy converged towards it.
In the silence, a black flame burned quietly on his fingertip.
Xue Jing retracted his finger, leaving the black flame hovering in the air.
He then manipulated the black flame, making it move back and forth in the air.
"It's much smoother to control..."
"Let's test the range."
He guided the black flame, trying to make it go as far as possible.
It wasn't until the black flame reached a distance of about fifty feet from the window that Xue Jing felt a slight difficulty in controlling it.
"The range of free control has increased to fifty feet."
Xue Jing clenched his fist.
The black flame outside the window suddenly exploded, turning into countless tiny flames that splattered everywhere.
He clenched his fist again, and the scattered tiny flames immediately regrouped into one.
"I can perform more precise operations."
"And the most important thing is the power..."
Xue Jing thought for a moment but couldn't find a suitable object to test it on.
"Never mind, I'll test it later."
He shook his head, waved his hand to disperse the shadowflame, and closed the panel.
After some time had passed, Xue Jing suddenly furrowed his brows.
Mustering his courage, he pressed down on the lump under the blanket that might or might not be a ghost.
A strange "mmm mmm mmm" sound came from under the blanket.
This move seemed to cause great damage to the ghost, as the blanket kept shaking.
After a long while, Xue Jing sighed and let go.
A figure darted out from under the blanket and rushed towards the bathroom.
In the faint light, it seemed like the figure was covering its mouth...
...
(8K update... I'm all burned out.)
