Chapter 876: Ivan: This is Just a Small Suggestion!
Chapter 876: Ivan: This is Just a Small Suggestion!
Ivan spoke enthusiastically about the Ministry of Magic's upcoming quest, emphasizing that Pierce should dispatch more personnel to arrest the remaining Death Eaters according to the list provided by Snape. Suddenly, he noticed that Mcgonagall and the others were looking at him with odd expressions.
Did I say something wrong? Ivan was initially confused but quickly realized the situation and hastily corrected himself. "Of course, this is just a small suggestion. The final decision is up to Minister Pierce."
Pierce nodded eagerly, assuring that the Ministry of Magic would not be as autocratic as the previous Fudge administration and would carefully consider every useful suggestion.
However, their awkward attempt to cover up the situation did little to dispel the professors' suspicion. They couldn't help but feel that the Acting Minister was being overly accommodating to Ivan—no, it was more like he was almost following Ivan's every word.
But even if they stretched their imaginations to the limit, they could never have guessed that this sixteen- or seventeen-year-old young wizard was actually pulling the strings behind the scenes in Britain.
Mcgonagall and the others attributed it to Ivan's mother, Asia, who had helped Pierce during the battle against Voldemort and now held a key position in the Ministry. As the Acting Minister, Pierce had to take Ivan's opinions seriously.
"By the way, how are Harry and Professor Snape? I have some important information that needs their confirmation." Ivan, unwilling to explain further about the Ministry of Magic, quickly changed the subject.
"They are in the Hospital Wing receiving treatment. They should be awake by now", Professor Mcgonagall replied hesitantly.
"Then you all keep talking. I'll go check on Harry." Ivan said casually before turning and heading towards the Hospital Wing.
Pushing open the tightly closed door, a strong smell of potions immediately filled Ivan's nostrils. His gaze swept across the room, where injured students lay on the beds—though this was not due to Grindelwald's explosion charm in the Great Hall. Many young wizards had been trampled during the chaotic evacuation.
Madam Pomfrey stood by Harry's bed, holding a bowl of dark potion, ready to make him drink it.
Harry looked distressed but obediently took the bitter potion and swallowed it in one go.
Madam Pomfrey had been injured while saving him and was now tending to the others despite her own injuries. Harry wouldn't dare cause any trouble at this critical moment, adding to Madam Pomfrey's workload.
Snape's bed was right next to Harry's, but he clearly wasn't happy about it. He gruffly demanded that Pomfrey move him to another bed, only to be sternly refused.
"Let me remind you, Severus, every bed in here is occupied. And your leg is injured. If you don't want to end up a cripple, you'll stay in this bed for the next few days", Pomfrey said sternly, leaving Snape speechless. It wasn't until Ivan entered the room that she turned around, concerned. "What are you doing here, Hals? Are you injured too?"
“No, I’m fine, Madam!” Ivan shook his head and took a few steps forward, his gaze falling on the two people lying in the beds. “Can I have a moment alone with Professors Harry and Snape?”
“This is out of the question!” Madam Pomfrey was firm, as the well-being of her patients was her top priority. “If you have any questions, it’s best to wait until tomorrow. They need their rest now more than ever.”
“I’ll only take a moment, I promise! This is a matter of utmost importance. Minister Pierce sent me, and it could affect the safety of Hogwarts and the entire Wizarding World!” Ivan said with a serious expression, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
Even with such grave words, Madam Pomfrey only reluctantly agreed after much deliberation.
“I’ll give you five minutes, no more!” She glanced at her watch, and seeing Ivan nod in agreement, she took an empty bowl and went to attend to other patients.
Harry looked at Ivan with anxiety, while Snape’s expression was equally grave. Both were worried about hearing some terrible news.
However, once Madam Pomfrey left, Ivan’s serious demeanor suddenly relaxed. He reached out and patted Harry on the shoulder, smiling. “Congratulations, Harry! You’ve killed Voldemort!”
“What? I killed Voldemort?” Harry was taken aback by the news. He remembered only destroying the serpent.
Snape, on the other hand, was less surprised. He had his suspicions when he saw Grindelwald with the Elder Wand, though he hadn’t dared to confirm them.
“Are you sure about this, Hals?” Snape asked.
Ivan nodded. Voldemort had been severely beaten by Grindelwald, his soul expelled from his body and scattered into ashes in mid-air. Even if Merlin himself were to return, he couldn’t bring Voldemort back.
With Ivan’s confirmation, Snape seemed to shed a heavy burden. His eyes showed a sense of relief, and he leaned back against the bedside, adopting a calm and contented demeanor.
“Wait, what exactly happened?” Harry was still confused, unable to understand why he was credited with Voldemort’s death.
“Your and Professor Snape’s actions in defeating Nagini severely weakened Voldemort, leading to his loss in the duel with Grindelwald,” Ivan explained briefly, then asked about their experiences at Riddle House.
Although he had learned some details from Professor Mcgonagall, he still had many questions.
Harry didn’t hold back and recounted the entire sequence of events. Snape occasionally added a few details and carefully watched Ivan’s reactions. He had withheld Dumbledore’s plan from Ivan to ensure Harry’s safety and was now somewhat concerned about potential repercussions.
With the help of both, Ivan gradually pieced together the full story. It was clear that Voldemort had been led to his demise by Dumbledore’s meticulous planning.
The key to this plan was the legend of the Elder Wand and the Three Hallows!
Even Ivan had to admire Dumbledore’s brilliant strategy, which had methodically guided Voldemort to his own destruction.
In a sense, Trelawney’s prophecy was right once again. If he was correct, it was Harry who delivered the final blow to Voldemort, using a power Voldemort didn’t understand—courage and belief!
