Chapter 875: All of You, Attack Together
Chapter 875: All of You, Attack Together
The warships of the Dense Network nearly encircled half the island, with countless more yet to dock behind those already anchored at the Port.
Kuro didn’t issue a formal summons this time. After the Bartholomew incident, his temporary authority to command the entire Navy had been revoked. Previously, he hadn’t exercised authority over others but had instead relied on personal favors and always been extremely polite. This time, however, the approach was far more direct.
Just one sentence: “Come to avenge Zeff or not.”
Practically everyone stationed in the New World and the regions closer to Mariejois who weren’t too distant rushed over. Some postponed their missions without hesitation and came immediately, while others took leave as if it were a vacation.
Among them were four veteran Vice Admirals: Aokiji, Dalmatian, Storbery, and Togeko.
Not everyone arrived, however. The Navy was still dealing with the chaos caused by pirates seizing opportunities during the recent World Meeting period.
Kuro had a solution for this too—he ensured all these “traditional Navy” forces would be seen.
Masses of Navy personnel disembarked from the Port, surrounding the area around it.
Kuro, Autumn Water hanging at his waist and a cigar clenched between his teeth, descended from the warship’s gangway. Behind him, a growing number of figures in hooded cloaks gathered—Vice Admirals, Commanders, and at the very least, Commanders.
“What a grand spectacle,” Miss Bakin laughed, watching the Navy approach. “Yohohohoho! Golden Lion Vice Admiral, did you come to see us?”
Only then did Kuro notice the small, elderly woman in a leopard-print hooded cloak standing beside Edward Weibull’s towering form.
“I heard the old Whitebeard has a thing for leopard prints,” Kuro muttered, exhaling a plume of smoke. “Yes, I came for you.”
“Oh? Is this about the Seven Warlords of the Sea?” Miss Bakin asked confidently.
“Exactly. It’s about the Seven Warlords of the Sea,” Kuro confirmed with a nod.
“Then I agree!” Miss Bakin didn’t wait for Kuro to state his terms, immediately accepting.
A trade route’s tariffs in a key commercial artery—she accepted the terms as if it were nothing.
“Well then, since you understand, that’s settled,” Kuro said, slightly taken aback before nodding. He raised a hand, signaling behind him. Navy personnel deployed several large Transponder Snails, setting them up on tripods in all directions. The snails’ eyes widened, staring toward Edward Weibull’s position.
“What is this?” Miss Bakin frowned.
“Oh, live-streaming Transponder Snails,” Kuro smiled. “Some comrades couldn’t come due to their duties but wanted first-hand news, so I decided to broadcast.”
Miss Bakin’s expression darkened. “So you’ve made your decision already, Miss Bakin—and you, Edward Weibull, the one you call your son—both of you are stripped of your Seven Warlords of the Sea status. From now on, you’re just pirates.”
“What? I’ve never heard of such a thing!” Miss Bakin gasped. “The title of Seven Warlords of the Sea can’t be taken away like that! We were personally invited by the World Government!”
“But the authority rests in my hands now. Do you have any objections to my decision?” Kuro asked, locking eyes with her. “Surrender?”
Miss Bakin’s face grew grim. “So we’re enemies now, then, Edward Weibull?”
Boom!!
The massive figure behind her trembled, gripping his nitoryu tightly. The ground shook violently, rumbling with the force.
The sheer might of his presence made many Navy soldiers swallow hard, beads of sweat rolling down their faces.
It wasn’t even the use of Haki—just a raw, overwhelming sense of strength.
Even Togeko beside Kuro’s side widened his eyes slightly. “What terrifying strength.”
That was just from a single stomp.
“That’s why he became a Seven Warlords of the Sea alone. His power is undeniable. His strength is enormous—greater than Bartholomew’s by far.”
Kuro analyzed, then said, “Good. I was afraid you’d surrender. Since you won’t, according to protocol, pirates refusing arrest may be subdued by force.”
“Edward Weibull, kill them!” Miss Bakin roared.
“Yes! Mother!!”
Edward Weibull’s body quivered as if trembling under the concentration of his power, though it wasn’t from fear. He charged forward like a tiger’s roar, leaping over Miss Bakin and swinging his nitoryu like a whirlwind, crashing it downward.
“I’ll test his strength first!”
Aokiji stepped forward, his hair whipping through the air as he transformed it into hair-like tendrils. Six blades materialized alongside the two he drew from his sheathes, all infused with Haki. In a flash, he lunged toward Edward Weibull mid-leap.
Eight blades like sharpened horns—Aokiji’s technique struck like a phantom with eight antlers, slashing across Edward Weibull’s chest.
“Oni Monogatari!”
Puuuh!!
Blood erupted from Edward Weibull’s chest, but as it did, an afterimage flickered downward, slamming into the ground with a burst of smoke and dust.
“So painful! So painful! Mother!”
Edward Weibull landed, crying out in pain as his grip on the nitoryu tightened. His face twisted in a gruesome grin as he roared again.
Huuuh!!
The smoke and dust were swept away by a gust, revealing Aokiji standing in the clearing, his expression grim as he shouldered his blade.
“He’s got immense strength!” Aokiji muttered.
“Another tough fight?” Togeko glanced back, his eyes filled with concern.
At this moment, there was no room for hesitation—they were all Zeff’s disciples, here to avenge him.
“No need to exaggerate,” Kuro said, slowly drawing Autumn Water. “For someone like him, there’s no need for politeness. We’re all Zeff’s disciples with a single goal. All of you—attack together!”
“I agree,” Aokiji nodded. “Kill him, by any means necessary.”
A smirk curled Kuro’s lips as he watched Edward Weibull. His figure slowly faded.
“I’ll make you feel even more pain, Edward Weibull.”
His voice echoed behind Edward Weibull.
“Edward Weibull, behind you!!” Miss Bakin screamed.
Kuro reappeared behind him, Autumn Water crackling with golden lightning as he slashed downward. Edward Weibull twisted instantly at Miss Bakin’s warning, his nitoryu swirling with a white, spiraling aura as he swung upward in a fierce counter.
Unified Haki!
Huuuuh!!
The force of the strike sent a gust blasting through the ground along the trajectory, carving a massive gash in its wake.
Pure strength!
Yet again, the blade only cleaved through a phantom image.
“You’re certainly strong,” Kuro’s voice sounded as he emerged beside Edward Weibull, “but besides that—”
His blade slid downward, slicing viciously into Edward Weibull’s flank like cutting through meat. Blood erupted as the blade tore through flesh.
“You’re just too slow,” Kuro smirked.
At that moment, Commanders and higher drew their weapons—guns fired, cannons roared, all targeting Edward Weibull.
