Chapter 871: It Was the Dark Lord Who Killed the Dark Lord
Chapter 871: It Was the Dark Lord Who Killed the Dark Lord
Since he couldn't shake off this trouble in the short term, Voldemort gathered his composure and began to focus entirely on Grindelwald, determined to take him down first. His attacks grew even more ruthless.
However, Grindelwald remained calm and showed no intention of engaging in a direct confrontation. He defended himself with great caution.
Voldemort's relentless attacks yielded no results, and his face darkened to an extreme. He couldn't believe that, despite his full power and possession of the Deathly Hallows, he couldn't quickly suppress a Dark Wizard who had been imprisoned for decades and was nearly paralyzed!
This made Voldemort doubt his own strength, and he vaguely recalled the night a year ago when he confidently stormed into Knockturn Alley but was driven away by a mere child.
The rising sense of unease made Voldemort even more enraged. He swung his wand furiously, attempting to blast everything in front of him to pieces.
Grindelwald, naturally, sensed Voldemort's mental state and immediately shifted from defense to offense. He gripped his wand tightly and gave it a powerful shake. The large chunks of broken wall around him quickly reassembled into several massive horses, their bodies burning with Cobalt Blue Flames. They seemed like messengers of Hell, charging straight towards Voldemort.
Such a masterful rapid Transformation left Voldemort greatly astonished, almost making him think he was facing Dumbledore. However, his extensive combat experience allowed him to quickly recover. The surprise lasted only a moment, and with a spell, a serpent dozens of meters long emerged from the thick Dark Fog.
The terrifying serpent lashed its tail, shattering the Hellhorses, but the cobalt-blue Fiendfyre spread up the serpent's tail.
Grindelwald changed his defensive stance and pressed forward, blasting the serpent's head with an Explosion Charm. He cast various spells with ease, his momentum growing stronger. His previously hunched body straightened, and he began to overwhelm Voldemort.
Voldemort was both shocked and furious, a hint of fear creeping into his heart. What unsettled him even more was the severe threat to Nagini, and fragmented images began to form in his mind.
"Get out of my way!" Voldemort shouted in anger, no longer willing to tangle with Grindelwald. In the faint images, he saw Harry Potter and his most loyal follower, Snape...
But how could this be? Harry Potter was dead, Voldemort was absolutely certain of it!
He had died from the Killing Curse Voldemort had cast with his own hands!
"This is impossible!" Voldemort muttered to himself. He couldn't believe Snape would betray him. Snape had risked his life for him multiple times and had even surrendered such a powerful wand...
"Confringo! (Exploding Spell)" Grindelwald took advantage of the moment, waving his wand. The scattered cobalt-blue flames gathered, forming a long tongue of fire that surged towards Voldemort.
Voldemort's reaction was slow, and he could only manage to conjure a half-circular barrier to protect himself.
The cobalt-blue fire tongue soon collided with the barrier, and the explosive flames immediately began to tear fine cracks in the Magic Barrier.
Voldemort paid no attention to repairing the barrier. He felt a splitting headache, as if his brain had been struck by a heavy sword, and the deep-seated pain in his soul almost made him faint.
In the span of a single second, the Cobalt Blue Flames exploded, instantly shattering the hastily constructed shield. Voldemort didn't even have time to transform into Dark Fog before he was blasted away.
Grindelwald summoned a gust of wind to disperse the swirling smoke, then walked step by step to Voldemort's side. He bent down to pick up the Elder Wand that had fallen to the ground, looking down at the Dark Lord who was writhing in pain on the floor, and said coldly,
"You were right earlier. It is indeed time to end this..."
Grindelwald swung his wand with great effort, muttering a few obscure words. The remaining blue flames on Voldemort's robes quickly swelled up.
The terrifying Fiendfyre began to consume Voldemort's body, turning him into a blazing torch. A black soul erupted from his body, which was about to be reduced to ashes, and screamed as it flew away.
As long as his soul existed, he still had hope. With this thought, Voldemort abandoned the two Deathly Hallows he had in hand, as well as his own body, fleeing like a dog with its tail between its legs.
But a pair of green eyes suddenly appeared in his mind. The boy who should have been killed by him was holding a sword, thrusting it towards Nagini's head.
"No!" Voldemort screamed in despair. He couldn't accept that his last Horcrux was about to be destroyed, but he could only watch helplessly as Harry swung the sword.
With a searing pain, everything seemed to slip away from him. The soul that had barely held together disintegrated.
Ivan had just received a message from Winky and arrived at Nurmengard. He was bewildered as he watched Voldemort's soul scream out of the Tower and disintegrate in mid-air, unable to understand what was happening for a moment.
"You reported that Master Grindelwald might be in danger, Winky?" Ivan turned to look at the burning Tower, his expression serious as he watched Grindelwald emerge from the collapsed ruins.
"Winky... Winky didn't know things would turn out like this, Master." The house-elf’s eyes widened; it couldn't believe that Grindelwald had actually killed the powerful Dark Lord.
Ivan recalled Snape's unusual behavior and the information he had received from Harry. He had a vague idea of what had happened. It seemed Voldemort's Horcruxes had all been destroyed.
But even so, Grindelwald shouldn't have been able to defeat Voldemort, who held the Elder Wand.
Unless the Dark Lord had somehow obtained a suitable wand in advance...
At this thought, Ivan's hand gripped his wand, and he looked at Grindelwald, who was standing not far away, with a teasing smile. "It looks like a new Savior of Britain is about to be born... I think the wizards will be quite surprised to hear this news—Dark Lord killed Dark Lord!"
"Savior of Britain? Such a familiar title... But let's leave that honor to the boy. He's the one who truly killed Voldemort..." Grindelwald slowly approached Ivan, showing no signs of wanting to attack. A mocking expression appeared on his face, clearly unimpressed by the title.
Winky, sensing the impending threat, trembled as it stepped in front of Ivan. But before it could act, Ivan pulled it behind him.
