Chapter 87: Thoughts on the Release
Chapter 87: Thoughts on the Release
I initially thought of sharing some thoughts on the release, but it's not really necessary. Readers can simply enjoy the new updates. However, some readers may not be aware of the release, so I decided to write a few words.
Today's update will be after 12 noon, and it might be a few minutes late.
I'm not going to get all sentimental here; readers can just enjoy the story. I personally don't think it's necessary to create too much suspense, mainly because I'm not good at that (dog facepalm).
Let me clarify a plot point from the previous two chapters that some readers might find confusing. Some readers have messaged me, questioning why Dan Xiong would laugh at Chen Chuan and then want to beat him up just because of a woman he loves. This might seem a bit extreme, and there are indeed people like that in real life, which inspired this scene. However, many readers seem to have misunderstood. I couldn't explain it earlier, but now that the story has progressed, I can clarify.
The truth is, Dan Xiong doesn't even know Zhen Ping (the second-year female student who greeted Chen Chuan).
As you'll discover later in the story, the male and female students at Wu Yi Academy are separated, and Class B students like Dan Xiong have little interaction with the female students. So, he doesn't even know Zhen Ping's name, let alone have any feelings for her.
Then why does Dan Xiong want to beat up Chen Chuan? It's because he's a Class B student, and his training is quite stressful. He can't bully others, so he needs an outlet, someone to pick on. I intentionally left a hint during Chen Chuan's admission, where he was the only applicant without any prior training experience, unlike the others.
Zhen Ping immediately noticed this, and so did Dan Xiong. That's why he targeted Chen Chuan. When Zhen Ping smiles at others but not at him, it's just an excuse he uses to pick a fight. He wants to vent his frustration by beating someone up, and Chen Chuan, being a clueless newbie, is the perfect target.
Of course, readers who have reached this point in the story might not care about this detail and may choose to drop the book if they can't accept it. I understand that, but I felt the need to provide an explanation. Some readers might still find it unreasonable, and that's okay. Whether the book is enjoyable or not depends on personal preference.
Before the release, I'd like to express my special gratitude to Editors Beihe and Canaan! Thank you to the moderators and all the readers as well!
Lastly, since this is a release note, I'd like to ask for some pre-orders! Thank you, everyone!
