Chapter 87: On Going Premium
Chapter 87: On Going Premium
I had initially planned to share some thoughts on the occasion of going premium, but it's not entirely necessary. Readers can simply enjoy the new chapter, although some may not be aware of the premium status, so I decided to write a short message.
The update will be released after 12 noon today, and it might be a few minutes late.
Let's not get into sentimental stuff; readers can just enjoy the book and have a good time. I personally don't think it's necessary to build up too much anticipation, mainly because I'm not good at that sort of thing anyway (embarrassed emoji).
Here, I'd also like to clarify a plot point from the previous two chapters, as some readers have messaged me about it. They were confused as to why Dan Xiong suddenly wanted to beat up Chen Chuanxiao just because of a woman he liked. They thought it was a bit extreme, and wondered if there was anyone that foolish. Moreover, if we follow that logic, as a receptionist, wouldn't Dan Xiong want to beat up anyone she smiles at?
Yes, there are people that foolish, and I based this character on someone I met in real life. However, many readers have misunderstood something here.
The truth is, Dan Xiong doesn't even know Zhen Ping (the second-year student who greeted Chen Chuan).
As readers will discover later, the male and female students at Wu Yi Academy are trained separately, and Class B students like Dan Xiong have minimal interaction with female students. So, he doesn't even know Zhen Ping's name, and they've only met once. He certainly doesn't have any feelings for her.
Then why does Dan Xiong want to beat up Chen Chuan?
Well, Dan Xiong is a Class B student, and he feels repressed during training. He can't bully others, so he needs an outlet, someone to take his frustration out on. That's why he sets his sights on Chen Chuan, because during the admission process, Chen Chuan was the only one who hadn't trained before.
Zhen Ping immediately saw through this, and so did Dan Xiong. That's why he targeted Chen Chuan. So, when readers ask if it's because Zhen Ping smiled at someone else and not him, that's just an excuse. He wants to beat someone up to release his frustration, because Chen Chuan is an easy target—a clueless newbie.
Of course, readers who have reached this point in the story probably don't care about this, and those who can't accept it might have already stopped reading. I thought I'd explain anyway, but I understand if some still find it hard to accept. After all, whether or not a book is enjoyable is a matter of personal taste.
Before concluding this premium message, I'd like to express my gratitude to Editors Beihe and Canaan! Also, thank you to the administrators and all the readers for your support!
Lastly, since this is a premium message, I'd like to ask for some first subscriptions! Thank you, everyone!
