Chapter 86: Magnetmouse's Adventure
Chapter 86: Magnetmouse's Adventure
The ultimate goal of this summer vacation in Hometown was to help Fangflare train and evolve.
Finding wild Supernatural Creatures to battle in Hometown was an integral part of the training.
Qiao Sang's favorite training ground was actually the small forest near Tan An Township.
Climbing the mountain was troublesome, but the forest in Tan An Township was on flat ground, making it easy to come and go.
However, since they were already at the foot of Yellow Bright Mountain, she decided to take the opportunity to train with wild familiars.
At the top of Yellow Bright Mountain.
Qiao Sang was vigilantly observing her surroundings.
Although this wasn't a Hidden Realm, and high-level wild Supernatural Creatures were unlikely to appear, she still needed to be cautious.
In an environment with wild familiars, the worst thing to do is to be careless.
The mountain path was winding, and Qiao Sang walked along the narrow trail, with Fangflare and Magnetmouse leading the way.
The surroundings were eerily quiet; after walking for several minutes, she hadn't seen a single wild familiar.
Qiao Sang shifted her gaze to Magnetmouse, who was leading the way.
It wasn't that there were no wild familiars at all...
Magnetmouse's body trembled, inexplicably feeling a chill.
Ten minutes later.
Qiao Sang finally spotted the first wild familiar—a Saddle Velvet Worm.
Its body was brown with a yellow-green saddle, making it look like a saddle covered in white, velvety hair.
"Fangy!" Qiao Sang called out immediately.
"Ya!"
Fangflare immediately stopped and took a battle stance, while Magnetmouse was startled and also halted.
Treasure Seeker curiously watched from atop Qiao Sang's head.
The Saddle Velvet Worm heard the noise, turned its head, and then nonchalantly wriggled past Qiao Sang.
Qiao Sang stood there, stunned for a moment.
This was quite awkward...
Some junior wild familiars were quite innocent and non-aggressive; as long as you didn't provoke them, they wouldn't attack without reason.
The Saddle Velvet Worm clearly fell into this category.
Qiao Sang found it hard to bring herself to attack such a type of wild familiar.
"Ya?"
Fangflare looked at its Beastmaster in confusion.
Qiao Sang cleared her throat and said, "It's fine, I just wanted you to be careful."
"Ya."
Fangflare felt embarrassed; it had misunderstood its Beastmaster's intention.
After walking for another ten minutes along the mountain path.
Magnetmouse stopped and pointed to a spot, making an inviting gesture.
"Zi."
"Zi zi."
Without needing Fangflare to translate, Qiao Sang understood Magnetmouse's meaning from its actions.
She was about to refuse when she caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of her eye.
Compared to the other patches of grass, a particular area was moving more noticeably.
"Fangy!"
"Ya!"
Fangflare's eyes changed, and it once again took a battle stance.
In the next second, a slightly larger Magnetmouse suddenly emerged from the grass and launched an attack without hesitation.
Golden electrical currents emanated from its body, and an arc of lightning shot straight toward Qiao Sang.
Without a second thought, Fangflare rushed forward to block the arc with its body.
Fortunately, Qiao Sang was quick to react, grabbing Fangflare and rolling to the side.
The lightning arc hit the ground, sending sparks flying and leaving a small crater.
"Ya!"
"Ya ya!"
Fangflare turned back and looked at Qiao Sang with concern.
"I'm fine", Qiao Sang quickly stood up and shook her head.
She was afraid that if she moved too slowly, another arc of lightning would come her way.
Seeing that its Beastmaster was unharmed, Fangflare's body suddenly burst into red flames. It glared angrily at the sudden appearance of the Magnetmouse and prepared to charge forward.
Just as Fangflare was about to charge forward, the Magnetmouse suddenly levitated into the air, floating above the ground.
"Magnet!!!"
The floating Magnetmouse struggled fiercely, its eyes glaring at Qiao Sang with a look that seemed to say it would love to bite her.
Qiao Sang noticed the commotion and was taken aback for a moment. She turned to look at Treasure Seeker.
At that moment, Treasure Seeker's eyes no longer held any curiosity. Its body glowed with a blue light, and it floated in mid-air, its yellow eyes turning blue.
Qiao Sang was stunned for a while.
Using Psychic Power to control objects and controlling living beings are two entirely different concepts. The energy required for the latter is significantly greater.
Yet, Treasure Seeker was able to use Psychic Power to control a wild, struggling familiar. And it had only been born four days ago...
Fangflare quickly regained its senses. It dug its hind legs into the ground, flames spreading across its body, and it charged forward like a bolt of lightning.
Its speed was so fast that it seemed like a red flash.
Just as Fangflare leaped to collide with the Magnetmouse, a yellow figure darted in front of it.
Fangflare's Blazing Charge was so powerful that it sent the yellow figure, along with the Magnetmouse it was protecting, flying.
"Magnet!"
"Magnet!"
The two Magnetmice cried out in unison, their voices distinct.
In no time, both Magnetmice fainted.
Qiao Sang looked at the smaller Magnetmouse that had suddenly appeared to block Fangflare. She understood immediately.
The larger Magnetmouse that had suddenly attacked must have known the one she had brought back. It had clearly identified her as the enemy and chosen to attack...
Qiao Sang looked sympathetically at the Magnetmouse she had brought back, which was now lying unconscious on the ground.
This little one had been through so much in just a few days. It had finally managed to escape and was almost home when this happened.
She thought this experience could be turned into a book. She even had a title in mind: "The Adventures of Magnetmouse."
"Tooth!"
"Tooth!"
Fangflare, realizing it had knocked out its newfound friend, rushed to Qiao Sang's side, calling out anxiously.
"It's okay, you didn't mean to. Even if you had noticed it was the Magnetmouse blocking your path, you wouldn't have been able to stop your Blazing Charge in such a short distance", Qiao Sang reassured, patting Fangflare's head. "I have some medicine. I can treat it."
Since she hadn't bonded with a familiar that had healing skills, Qiao Sang had bought some healing medicine as a precaution.
She had picked up some of these healing medicines from the familiar base after bonding with Treasure Seeker. Even if she didn't go to the Hidden Realm, it was always good to have them on hand.
Sure enough, they came in handy so soon.
"Xunbao, medicine." Qiao Sang turned to Treasure Seeker.
Fangflare already had a name, and Qiao Sang didn't want to favor one over the other. But she couldn't think of a good name right away, so she simply removed the "ghost" part and called it "Xunbao."
She had been calling it this for two days, and Treasure Seeker seemed to like it.
Treasure Seeker was floating beside the larger Magnetmouse, about to use Dream Eater to restore its energy.
But when Qiao Sang called out, Treasure Seeker froze, feeling like it had been caught doing something wrong.
"Xun~"
Treasure Seeker abandoned its plan and floated back to Qiao Sang. It took out a bottle of medical spray from the Ring.
