Chapter 86: I am the Mysterious Man, and I Endorse Dungbombs!
Chapter 86: I am the Mysterious Man, and I Endorse Dungbombs!
At the same time, outside the exam room, Hermione was also asking about the quiz. When she learned that Ivan had turned a small piece of wood into an Owl, she felt quite dejected.
Hermione had thought that after studying so hard, she might be able to narrow the gap a bit, but it seemed the gap was only getting wider.
On the way back, Ivan happened to encounter the gloomy George and Fred. They had just finished the third-year History of Magic exam and looked like the sky was falling.
"What's wrong? The results haven't been announced yet, right?" Ivan asked curiously.
"No, but we're sure we failed", Fred sighed, then turned his gaze to George. "It's all your fault, George. I told you to put the research aside and focus on studying a few days before the exam."
"So what? Did you study properly? Who was up late last night in the dorm, researching?" George rolled his eyes.
"I was working on a quick-answer quill, one that writes answers automatically! It was for the exam, unlike you!" Fred defended himself.
"Yeah, and it only writes answers we already know. It's definitely the worst invention ever!" George said, quite unhappy. He had trusted Fred so much this morning, but once they got to the exam, he was in for a shock.
An automatic quick-answer quill? It would be pretty useful for homework.
Ivan thought to himself. Seeing the two bickering and blaming each other, Ivan's mood improved considerably.
It wasn't that he was gloating; rather, these two had a natural talent for making others feel better.
"Professor Binns is usually pretty lenient. As long as you finished and your answers weren't too far off, you should pass", Ivan said, trying to comfort them while finding it amusing.
"You're right. That's what I thought, so I secretly ate a Quick-acting Skiving Snackbox, got a nosebleed, and tried to pretend I was sick to gain some sympathy. It went well at first, but then..." George shrugged.
"Then Fred also ate one?" Ivan had already guessed what happened.
They must have had the same idea. Professor Binns can be a bit forgetful sometimes, but he's not stupid. Two students with continuous nosebleeds that wouldn't stop would be suspicious to anyone.
"So we're doomed", George and Fred looked at each other, both on the verge of tears.
"I can only wish you luck", Ivan shrugged, indicating his helplessness.
"Let's not talk about that. Did you use the Dungbomb we gave you? How did it work? We plan to start selling them officially at school next semester", George quickly changed the subject and asked.
"I used it on Quirrell. How should I say it? It worked very well! Otherwise, I might not have seen you guys at all!" Ivan said with a strange expression.
"Was it when you and Harry defeated Professor Quirrell in the basement? Tell us about it!" Fred got excited.
George had a new idea.
"Maybe we can write about this in our advertising next semester and put Quirrell's picture on the packaging. The Dungbombs will definitely sell like hotcakes!"
Listening to George's creative idea, Ivan's lips twitched, recognizing their talent for courting disaster.
Do you guys have any regard for the Dark Lord's dignity?
Ivan hesitated about whether to tell them that Quirrell was being controlled by the Dark Lord, to dissuade them from their reckless ideas.
But thinking back to the original timeline, when the two of them dared to prank the Dark Mark at the height of Voldemort's power, Ivan felt it was better not to say anything.
Otherwise, they might dare to print Voldemort's portrait on a Dungbomb and add a slogan:
"I am the Dark Lord, I endorse the Dungbomb."
Ivan imagined the scene in his mind and thought that the Dark Lord, who was on the run, might be so angry that he would come back to kill these two brothers.
A few days later, the exam results were finally announced.
Before that, the entire Hogwarts was filled with anxiety, and even the Weasley Twins turned their grief into motivation and created a charm that supposedly could temporarily boost exam scores. It became extremely popular, and in the end, even they believed in it, always wearing it and never taking it off. They even tried to give one to Ivan.
Of course, Ivan did not accept it, because he did not need such a thing.
His scores in Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, and Charms were all perfect, as high as they could get.
Even in Flying, which he was originally not good at, Ivan received an O (Outstanding).
After fusing with the Unicorn Blood, the improvement was not just in strength but also in talent!
Especially in the perception and control of Magic, which had significantly improved, controlling a broomstick was a breeze.
The only thing that surprised Ivan was his score in History of Magic, which was just an E (Exceeds Expectations), leaving him puzzled and unable to claim the top spot in the year, which was taken by Hermione.
Hermione was happy all day, but she still modestly went over the answers with Ivan to find where he lost points.
"That's not right. I remember it clearly. The ancestors of werewolves were Wizards who mutated, and I didn't write it wrong", Ivan said, looking at his parchment.
"You must have remembered it wrong. In the seventeenth chapter, fifth section of History of Magic, it says that the first werewolf appeared because a male Wizard was bitten by a wolf and received incorrect treatment. I'll show you!"
Hermione slapped down a thick copy of A History of Magic and quickly found the relevant content, showing it to Ivan.
After reading it, Ivan remembered that it was always the content from the book Origin of Bloodlines that he recalled.
Clearly, Professor Binns had changed it according to the textbook.
Well, let the truth be lost to the wind.
Ivan thought with a sense of helplessness. After all, he couldn't confront Professor Binns with that book, could he?
After the results were out, there were only one or two days left before the holidays.
Ivan had no intention of relaxing at all.
For other young Wizards, leaving Hogwarts and returning home might be a joyful thing, but for Ivan, it was somewhat troublesome.
This meant he had to face unfamiliar family members and an even more unfamiliar, and possibly dangerous, new environment.
Although Ivan had already organized his memories through the study of Occlumency, he was not the original person and could not guarantee that he wouldn't slip up.
The only consolation was that he had spent almost a year at Hogwarts, and any differences could be explained as growth from his time at school.
But out of caution, Ivan spared no effort to use the remaining time to further enhance his strength and knowledge.
The most important thing was to explore the newly acquired Bloodline Magic, the Unicorn Shadow!
