Chapter 851
Within the Energy Dome, Bartholomew's Fist collided with the Vermilion Bird, his mad fury wearing down the opponent's strength.
The surrounding earth shattered—this time not into large chunks but into delicate particles, floating like ash in the air. Only the land beneath Bartholomew and Kuro’s feet remained intact; everything else was utterly annihilated.
The shockwaves were staggering. The clash between Bartholomew’s Fist and the Vermilion Bird’s slash grew even fiercer.
Zzzzzt!!
The Fist and the Vermilion Bird’s beak did not meet directly but left a gap between them. Within this gap, a sphere of black thunder erupted, expanding and twisting violently. Outside it, a small glowing orb enclosed the chaos, as if all their clashing forces were compressed into this tiny light sphere. The orb swelled rapidly before being torn apart by the writhing black thunder.
Hiss!!!
The black thunder surged outward, engulfing the Energy Dome. A towering pillar of light erupted into the sky. As the light column burst into view, the group of watching elites on the distant island felt their bodies instantly lighten—the oppressive mix of Conqueror’s Haki and Killing Intent had vanished.
As the light pillar faded, the battlefield became visible. What remained of the island was now a mere hundreds of square meters. Bartholomew’s blue, demon-god-like aura faded entirely, his back’s fiery energy and even his hair’s blazing flames dissipating. Only his Haki remained, cloaking him.
Across from him, Kuro’s Yokai Blade dimmed from Crimson, its golden lightning glow fading. The red armor on his body crumbled to dust, and the hook-shaped mark on his cheek softened into tear-like streaks. Conqueror’s Haki and Killing Intent had vanished. Without their Encasement, both reverted to their base forms, cloaked only in Haki.
Thud!!
Neither hesitated. They lunged at each other simultaneously.
Bartholomew’s blue fist, etched with black patterns, struck out. Kuro tilted his head, dodging—but the punch grazed his cheek, drawing a wisp of blood. Without pause, Kuro gripped his blade and thrust the golden lightning-glittering Yokai Blade forward.
Bartholomew lowered his shoulder, evading a direct chest strike, but the blade’s edge sliced through his shoulder, leaving a red streak.
He exhaled sharply. Kuro twisted his blade, sweeping it horizontally toward Bartholomew’s neck. Bartholomew dropped his shoulder, deflecting the blow downward, and swung his fist toward Kuro’s face.
Hiss!!
The blade, now angled downward from the deflection, sliced into Bartholomew’s shoulder. Blood spurted as Kuro spat a mouthful of blood, then pulled his blade down, carving a deep gash across Bartholomew’s chest. Crimson splattered Kuro’s face.
Bartholomew’s eyes narrowed. His fist crashed into Kuro’s abdomen, sending him flying backward like a curled shrimp, soaring several meters into the air. Kuro twisted mid-air, landing on his feet, blood trickling from his lips.
Bartholomew wiped neither the blood from his shoulder nor his chest. He met Kuro’s gaze, and both men grinned—gruesomely.
No need for trash talk now. The battle resumed—Combat, continued!
Hiss! Clang! Bang! Boom!!
In the cramped space, neither dodged far. Kuro, leveraging his speed, slashed Bartholomew, while Bartholomew, relying on brute strength, endured the blade and countered with a punch. Even cloaked in Haki, each strike drew blood. Kuro’s slashes carved wounds; Bartholomew’s fists sent Kuro’s body into spasms. One relied on Haki and his Black Tortoise Body, the other on Haki and sheer physicality, trading blows with reckless abandon.
They were fighting with true fury now.
Kuro’s mind burned with obsession—his Great Mystic Art had clashed evenly with Bartholomew’s. Who was truly stronger? This was pride born of a lifetime of unmatched talent.
He had mastered the Unnamed Divine Wind Style at birth, sailed smoothly through cultivation, and never faced a major setback. Even the Admirals and Four Emperors? He’d always approached them with an escape-ready mindset. But this—this battle where his strength, Haki, and swordsmanship matched an opponent’s fists and techniques? This was unprecedented.
“Bartholomew!!” Kuro roared, absorbing a punch to the face and retaliating with a slash to his neck, spewing blood.
“Kuro!!” Bartholomew grinned malevolently, roaring back.
Their fists and blade clashed again—
Suddenly, a leopard-man darted between them, spinning rapidly into a downward kick aimed at Bartholomew. Rob Lucci!
Kuro hesitated instinctively, his blade already swinging in that direction. He instinctively pulled back.
Bang!!
Bartholomew’s fist smashed Kuro’s chest full-force. A brittle crack echoed as Kuro’s body arced backward, landing ten meters away.
Bartholomew countered Lucci’s kick with his arm, but the impact sent a thunderous boom through his limb, injuring it.
“Haa!!” Bartholomew roared, launching Lucci back. Lucci twisted mid-air, landing beside the island, muttering, “Even now, he has this strength?”
“Hey! You hurt Kuro!” Lida bellowed angrily.
“Kuh!” Kuro staggered up, clutching his chest and coughing blood, his face dark. Lucci’s help brought no relief—only irritation. His eyes blazing Crimson, he snarled at the island, “Get lost!”
Bartholomew glanced at Lucci’s impact on Kuro’s chest, then abruptly struck his own chest.
Boom! Crunch!
His chest bore a matching dent.
“Now we’re even.” Blood trickled from Bartholomew’s lips. Calmly, he said, “Let’s continue.”
He’d struck himself?
The sight froze the elite Vice Admirals ready to intervene.
“…I drank too much today. Headache. Only updating a little tonight.”
“…End tonight’s updates. Five tomorrow.”
