Chapter 851: Muzan's Discontent
Chapter 851: Muzan's Discontent
In a peculiar world, a myriad of unique rooms are arranged, some inverted and others sideways, each with its own distinct gravitational pull, creating a chaotic landscape.
This is Infinity Castle, a space created by demon blood art, located deep underground.
In one of the inverted rooms, Kisuke stands quietly, gazing upward as if transfixed by something. A faint glimmer flickers in his eyes, but only for a moment before his expression turns cold.
"Useless," he mutters.
"As expected, he was held back by Dakki. If it weren't for her, Giyutataro might have overcome his weaknesses and evolved further, just like Upper Moon Five."
A faint vein pops out on Kisuke's cheek, a telltale sign of his anger. The death of Giyutataro has only added to his already foul mood.
If Giyutataro had been crushed from the start due to his weakness, Kisuke might have accepted it. But the fact that he had a chance to win, that he had almost overcome his neck weakness, only to give up due to Dakki, infuriates him.
Worthless waste.
Although his demon blood can erode one's will, causing them to act according to the will of the demon after transformation, most demons still retain a portion of their human consciousness.
The more human consciousness a demon retains, the weaker they tend to be, a pattern evident from Lower Moons to Upper Moons.
"Human consciousness is always the lowest and most useless part," Kisuke muses coldly.
He turns his head towards the 'Singing Woman', a demon holding a pipa not far away. "Tell all the Twelve Demon Moons that Giyutataro is dead. There's no need for them to come this time."
"Tell them I am disappointed," he continues. "The Lower Moons are one thing, but the fact that the Upper Moons have been defeated again after a hundred years, and that the tasks I entrusted to them, the extermination of the Demon Slayer Corps and the search for the blue spider lily, have been fruitless for hundreds of years... I'm considering replacing them all. Let them all be mindful of their actions from now on."
As Kisuke's cold words hang in the air, the Singing Woman responds with a bow, her arms still wrapped around her pipa. She plucks the strings, and the space distorts, causing her figure to vanish.
...
Inside the Demon Slayer Corps' headquarters, a small wooden cabin, Muzan is leaning against the chest of Kanroji Mitsuri, her body in a sleep-like state.
However, as she breathes softly, her body begins to change. Her elongated nails quietly retract, her fangs disappear, and the vertical pupils in her eyes, a telltale sign of a demon, gradually return to normal.
Within moments, all traces of her demonic features vanish.
In her hazy state, Muzan's eyelids flutter, and she slowly opens her eyes, looking at Mitsuri with a hint of confusion. The first thing she sees is Mitsuri's adorable and friendly smile.
"You're awake!" Mitsuri greets her with a warm smile.
Muzan's eyes still hold a hint of bewilderment, but soon, she feels her head swell slightly, and countless memories flood her mind—all the experiences she had endured after becoming a demon.
"Umm..." Muzan sits up instinctively, her hand reaching up to rub her head in pain.
Upon regaining full consciousness, the first word that escapes her mouth is an unconscious call for her brother.
"Big brother..."
"Your big brother isn't here, but he's doing well. He just defeated a strong demon," Mitsuri reassures her.
"It seems you're completely back to normal," Kanroji Mitsuri said with a smile, patting Mizuko's head gently with her small hand and looking pleased.
Mizuko suddenly became aware that she was sitting in Kanroji Mitsuri's lap, which was inappropriate, and she quickly struggled to get up. She also noticed Kanae, Kana, and Fengye nearby.
She felt a bit flustered and at a loss, but she quickly knelt and bowed to Fengye, her forehead touching the ground. She nervously said, "Well, um, thank you very much for your help."
"It's nothing," Fengye replied with a casual smile. "Come and have some sweets. You haven't eaten in a long time. Although you still retain your memories from when you were a demon, there are probably many things you're unclear about. Come and chat with us while we eat."
"Um... this..." Mizuko looked at Fengye awkwardly. Although she didn't understand everything, she had a general idea of the situation. For instance, she knew that Fengye before her was indeed a real deity.
As a mortal, she had offered sacrifices and prayers to the gods every year. Now that she was truly in the presence of a deity, it was only natural that she felt flustered and didn't know how to respond. Fortunately, Fengye exuded a very peaceful aura without an overwhelming sense of authority, or she might have felt even more nervous.
"Well... well..." Mizuko took a deep breath to calm herself and softly responded. She then turned to look at Kanae and Kana, who were smiling at her.
Kanae smiled at her without saying a word, but her eyes conveyed a warm 'welcome back'. Kana, on the other hand, greeted Mizuko with a gentle expression.
As Mizuko and Kanroji Mitsuri gradually blended in and learned about the situation inside and outside from Kanroji Mitsuri, she also looked at the floating images in the air with a silly expression.
Is this how the gods observe the world?
Although she didn't quite understand, it certainly felt impressive.
Learning that Tanjirou was safe also put Mizuko's heart at ease.
"Alright, the final chapter is about to begin," Fengye interrupted their casual chat, his tone relaxed as he spoke.
His voice drew everyone's attention back to the floating images in the air. They saw that one part of the image had split off, showing the location of 'Tanjirou'. A crow from the Demon Slayer Corps flew towards it.
"Have you thought it through?" Tanjirou asked the crow outside the window, his voice calm.
The crow cawed strangely in response, "I'm willing to trust you."
Tanjirou slowly stood up and said, "Then let us send Kibutsuji Muzan to hell together."
After creating various poisons, she finally made contact with the Demon Slayer Corps and communicated with Urokodaki Sakonji. In the end, Urokodaki Sakonji chose to trust her, and they joined forces to deal with Kibutsuji Muzan!
