Chapter 850: Korin Tower (Second Update)
Chapter 850: Korin Tower (Second Update)
"Jerry, why don't you come with me? Once we collect the Dragon Balls, I can let you make a wish too."
Seeing Jerry about to leave, Bulma's eyes twinkled, and she immediately extended an invitation.
Bulma was aware of Jerry's superpowers. Mrs. Bass often complained to Mrs. Brief about Jerry not wanting to go to school and even invited Bulma to their home to help persuade him.
So, Bulma knew Jerry was very powerful. If Jerry agreed to help her collect the Dragon Balls, it would definitely be faster and more efficient.
However, in response to Bulma's invitation, Jerry didn't even think about it before rejecting her outright.
"No thanks, I'm not interested. Good luck collecting all the Dragon Balls and achieving your wish."
Waving his hand, he continued his frog jumps forward.
Earth's Dragon God wasn't the Super Dragon God of the universe, capable of granting any wish. Even if it were the Super Dragon God, it couldn't instantly make him the strongest in the world.
Zamasu used the Super Dragon God to swap bodies with Goku and gained immortality, but in the end, the Omni-King still wiped him out.
As for resurrection, longevity, growing taller, becoming younger, and other such things, Jerry could achieve them himself with Magic. There was no need for him to make a wish to the Dragon God.
So, the Dragon God was of no use to him.
Rather than waste time with Bulma, he preferred to spend more time training his body and ki, finding strong opponents to hone his martial arts skills.
"Jerry, don't be so quick to refuse. If you agree, I can make some sacrifices."
Running up to Jerry, Bulma put on a pure and innocent act, occasionally lifting the hem of her skirt, clearly intending to use her beauty to persuade him.
Unfortunately, Jerry knew her well and interrupted her before she could finish her act:
"There's no need. You have no appeal to me."
With that, to avoid further entanglement, he fiddled with the button on his sleeve, temporarily turning off the gravity function on his clothes, and darted away.
"Do I really have no appeal at all? Jerry, just you wait! When I collect all the Dragon Balls and summon the Dragon God, you'll regret it!"
Watching Jerry's retreating figure, Bulma stomped her foot in frustration, then hopped on her motorcycle and sped off in the direction indicated by the Dragon Radar.
Sensing Bulma getting farther away, Jerry shook his head, reactivated the gravity Magic on his clothes, and continued his frog jumps.
He had no interest in joining Bulma and Goku's adventure. His goal was to make up for his final weakness in this world and push his physical body to its limits.
Thus, Jerry kept increasing the weight, crossing mountains, swimming across seas, and honing his body in the harshest natural environments, challenging famous martial artists in every city.
His physical strength grew stronger, and his ki became more abundant.
Along the way, he encountered numerous bandits, warlords, dinosaurs, monsters, and other superpowered beings, all of whom he easily defeated. As a result, he gradually became well-known.
Many dangerous factions knew that a boy named "Invincible Jerry" was not to be provoked, or they would face dire consequences.
Six months later, at the age of ten, Jerry, whose height had grown to nearly 1.6 meters due to the nightly stimulation of his magic power, finally arrived at the towering Korin Tower, which seemed to stretch into the clouds with no end in sight.
At this point, the weight of the clothes he was wearing had reached an astonishing five hundred kilograms.
"Hello!"
Jerry waved to the father and son roasting fish below Korin Tower.
The father and son, named Bora and Upa, dressed in attire similar to that of Native Americans, were the generations-long guardians of the Korin Tower Sanctuary.
"Hello, is there something you need?"
Bora, noticing a stranger near the sanctuary, cautiously stood up. However, seeing Jerry's youthful and seemingly young face, his expression relaxed.
His son, Upa, on the other hand, hid behind Bora's legs in fear at the sight of the stranger.
"My name is Jerry, and I want to climb the Korin Tower behind you!"
Jerry explained his intentions politely.
Bora's expression turned to one of surprise upon hearing this.
"Have you heard of the legend of Korin Tower?"
"Yes, I want to meet the Korin at the top of the tower."
Jerry nodded.
"In that case, you should understand that no one has ever succeeded in climbing it."
Bora frowned.
But the little Upa, who was at his feet, interjected:
"Dad, didn't they say someone succeeded in the past?"
"That's just a legend, not necessarily true."
Bora picked up the small Upa and placed him on his shoulders. In his younger days, he had attempted to climb Korin Tower but failed, nearly starving to death halfway up. Therefore, he doubted anyone could truly climb the tower.
"I want to give it a try."
Jerry smiled.
Bora thought for a moment, then set Upa down again and walked up to Jerry.
"I am the guardian of Korin Tower. If you want to climb it, you must defeat me first."
Bora was well aware of the dangers of climbing Korin Tower. The tower seemed to stretch endlessly, and many who had come to test the legend had fallen to their deaths due to exhaustion halfway up.
Seeing that Jerry seemed young and not evil, Bora did not want to see Jerry meet the same fate, so he proposed this rule. If Jerry couldn't even defeat him, a failed climber, how could he possibly climb the tower?
Jerry wasn't foolish and saw through Bora's kindness immediately, so he smiled and nodded.
The two stood facing each other on the open ground in front of Korin Tower. Jerry was nearly 1.6 meters tall, while Bora, over 3 meters tall, had a body of dark, rock-hard muscles.
From a normal person's perspective, Jerry would likely not be able to withstand a single punch from Bora.
"Begin!"
Perhaps seeing Jerry's consistent kindness, little Upa was no longer as afraid and ran to the center to act as the referee.
At Upa's command, Bora took two steps and punched at Jerry. However, Jerry didn't move an inch. As Bora's fist, larger than Jerry's head, was about to land, Jerry extended a single finger and lightly touched it, freezing Bora's fist in place. No matter how much strength Bora exerted, he couldn't move forward at all.
"Go easy on me."
Bora only heard Jerry's voice in his ear, unable to see Jerry's movement, when he felt a pain in his stomach and was sent flying. It took him a while to regain his footing and stand up again.
"I didn't expect you to be so strong. Perhaps, you really can climb Korin Tower!"
After all, Bora's body was impervious to bullets, yet Jerry had defeated him with a single strike. The difference in strength was significant.
