Chapter 85: Awesome!
Chapter 85: Awesome!
"Hahahe"
Gastly floated over to Jing He with a sheepish look, cautiously approaching.
"What were you talking about?" Jing He asked softly, gently moving his fingers to guide Golem's gaze.
"Haha, hahahe"
Nothing, nothing at all.
Gastly tilted its eyes upward at a forty-five-degree angle, pouting, with an expression that said, "What are you talking about? I don't know anything."
Fortunately for Gastly, Jing He's attention was focused on Golem, or he would have easily seen through its act.
"Come help me," Jing He said.
Seeing that Jing He wasn't going to press further, Gastly let out a sigh of relief and eagerly hurried over.
But halfway there, it suddenly remembered.
Golem?
Jing He reached out with his other hand, grabbed Gastly, and pressed it beside him, speaking seriously.
"Before, I was just joking. Now, let's be serious."
Hearing this, Gastly, who knew Jing He well, realized that Jing He was being serious and immediately put aside its miscellaneous thoughts.
"Hahahe?"
What do you want me to do?
"Watch Golem carefully."
Gastly followed Jing He's gaze.
As Jing He's fingers slowly moved, a series of green spheres of varying sizes began to emerge from the mist that floated out of the fissure in Golem's body. Many of these spheres, like Golem's eyes, followed Jing He's fingers, gently swaying.
But upon closer inspection, some of the green spheres didn't move at all, and a few even seemed to be causing trouble.
"Hahahe"
Gastly lowered its voice, indicating that it was starting to understand Jing He's intentions.
Golem was a Pokemon created from 108 Vengeful Spirits. Among these, there were both friendly and unfriendly spirits. Due to being sealed in the Wedge Stone, they were forced to coexist. Jing He, leveraging Golem's fondness for him and using verbal and psychological guidance, had managed to distinguish the unfriendly spirits by moving his fingers.
Now, Gastly's task was to hypnotize these unfriendly spirits.
Ultimately, it was almost impossible to completely eliminate the "multiple personalities" of a Pokemon like Golem, which was composed of 108 Vengeful Spirits. The only way to do so would be to remove each spirit one by one, but then Golem wouldn't be Golem anymore.
However, if they could transform some of the unfriendly spirits into neutral or even friendly ones, there would be a chance. As long as these troublesome spirits didn't cause chaos, Golem wouldn't disobey commands or harm others.
But this wasn't an easy task.
Following Jing He's signal, Gastly's eyes glowed with a faint red light.
Meanwhile,
"Your recovery is going well. It seems Jing He treats you very well and trains you excellently."
Cynthia squatted down, reaching out to gently rub Vulpix's chin, speaking softly.
"Urrr~"
Vulpix closed its eyes in contentment, making a soft snoring sound. Despite usually being wary of strangers, Vulpix seemed to have little resistance against Cynthia.
"So cute."
Seeing Vulpix's relaxed expression, Cynthia's eyes curved into a beautiful smile.
She tentatively asked,
"Can I hold you?"
"Urr."
Vulpix looked a bit hesitant and turned its head to look at Jing He.
"It's okay, don't force yourself."
Before she finished speaking, Vulpix had already jumped into her arms.
"Urrr~"
Cynthia let out a light, tinkling laugh.
Truly a Pokemon psychologist, the Pokemon he raises have such good temperaments.
Unlike my own, which act cool and distant as soon as they're outside.
Cynthia couldn't help but glance at the stern Hydreigon behind her.
"Huu?"
Hydreigon looked confused.
"Urrr~"
Vulpix blinked innocently, let out a soft breath, and tilted its head.
Jing He had mentioned that this was their "patron," hadn't they?
Seeing the little Vulpix in such a state, even Cynthia's heart was thoroughly moved.
She picked up the little one, gently rubbing her cheek against Vulpix's.
Soft, comfortable, and a bit icy.
Hum—
The gas cloud condensed by the Gastly trembled slightly, and a dark green light shot out, aiming straight for Jing He!
"Gengar!" Jing He said calmly.
"Kuppa!"
Actually, there was no need for him to shout. Gengar had already been on guard, raising its claws and tossing out a ghostly blue-purple flame.
Bang!!
The ghost fire collided with the green light, sending sparks flying in all directions.
A Gastly's soul can leave its body and attach itself to others or Pokemon, influencing their minds.
Jing He had informed Gengar about this long ago, so Gengar's reaction was swift.
The ghost fire briefly forced the green light back, and as it fell to the ground, a sinister aura spread out. The green light swelled and gradually took on the outline of a Gastly.
Only this "Gastly" was full of deceit and evil.
It coldly stared at Jing He, ready to pounce again, but Gengar stood in the way.
"Hypnosis."
"Kuppa~~"
Gengar chuckled, its eyes glowing red again. The green light "Gastly," which had been staring at Gengar, suddenly froze.
The gas cloud slowly shrank, eventually transforming back into a motionless green sphere.
Gengar picked it up and, after checking with Jing He, returned it to the Gastly's body.
"Kuppa?"
Is it done?
"Not quite."
Jing He noticed that with the green sphere's return, the restless souls inside the Gastly seemed to show signs of agitation. He quickly stopped his hand from trembling.
He felt a headache coming on.
He couldn't overstimulate them all at once.
Otherwise, the malevolent souls might all come out at once, causing trouble.
However, after calming the most restless one, the subtle evil aura around the Gastly seemed to lessen.
This confirmed he was on the right path.
"Sizzap?"
The Gastly came to its senses and let out a puzzled sound.
Did I do something bad again?
Jing He smiled gently.
"No, you've been very good and cooperative."
"Sizz, sizzap? o(////▽////)q"
At the same time, Cynthia, holding the little Vulpix, approached with her Garchomp.
She gave a questioning look.
Jing He shook his head slightly but still smiled.
"The Gastly is very cooperative and well-behave, but it needs time."
With that, Cynthia understood.
It could be "treated," but it would take time.
The Gastly's good behavior was unfamiliar to Garchomp.
Cynthia returned the Gastly to its Poke Ball.
The two of them walked toward the road.
Initially, Cynthia had wanted to fly directly into Kanaz City and offer Jing He a ride.
But under Garchomp's "murderous" gaze,
Jing He said he preferred to take a taxi.
However, this was the outskirts of Kanaz City, and it wasn't easy to find a taxi.
So Jing He, with a sigh, called the same taxi driver who had been foaming at the mouth and still quite stubborn.
Soon enough,
The car pulled up in front of them.
As soon as he rolled down the window, the driver saw Cynthia and immediately gave Jing He an admiring look.
He lowered his voice and asked,
"Kid, is that your girlfriend? Impressive."
Before he could finish,
The driver and Jing He both felt Garchomp's gaze again, and they both caught their breath.
"Heh, heh. Where to?"
Jing He looked at Cynthia.
She smiled softly.
"Kanaz Grand Hotel."
The driver's eyes widened, and he subtly gave Jing He a thumbs-up.
Impressive!
