Chapter 84: Repairs
Chapter 84: Repairs
Bougainvillea Town? Sweet Red Tea?
Naoki picked up on a crucial piece of information from this statement.
If he recalled correctly, Bougainvillea Town was a map in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, and that part wasn't released yet when he crossed over.
He took a sip of the tea, and instantly, a delightful blend of sweetness without being cloying, with a hint of creamy milk, spread throughout his mouth.
Wow! This sweet red tea is pretty good! Naoki raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Noticing his reaction, Mrs. Dantes smiled and said, "It tastes pretty good, doesn't it? This is a specialty of Bougainvillea Town! You won't find it anywhere else!"
Naoki nodded.
Just then, an elderly man with a brown vest and hair that was mostly white but still healthy-looking, despite his age, walked out from the backyard.
Mrs. Dantes introduced them, "This is the new ranch owner, Naoki, whom I mentioned before."
"And this is my husband, Wright. He was bedridden before, but thanks to your sheep's milk, he's able to get up and about again!"
Wright stepped forward and extended his hand, "Nice to meet you, Naoki. I believe this is our first time meeting? We're truly grateful to you. Do come and visit us often when you have the time."
Mrs. Dantes smiled and nodded, "And I'll treat you to the best sweet red tea when you visit."
Naoki was surprised to find that the milk from his riding sheep could be used to make medicinal meals, and it seemed quite effective.
"Well, thank you," he said with a smile.
Naoki was delighted that the produce from his ranch could help others.
Perhaps this was the best aspect of human interaction—no pretenses, no lies, just sincerity and gratitude.
After finishing his tea, Naoki bade the elderly couple farewell and returned to the ranch, his heart warmed by the day's events.
The typhoon that swept through the night before had caused considerable damage to the ranch.
The crops in the fields were affected, and a tree that had taken great effort to grow to a height of half a meter had been snapped in two, which pained Naoki to see.
The fences of the sheep pen where the riding sheep lived had been blown over, and the rain shelter had also suffered; the roof had been blown off.
Fortunately, he had anticipated the storm and transferred the riding sheep into Poke Balls beforehand, preventing even greater losses.
In comparison, the chicken coop, the salt house, and the Pokemon cottage proved much sturdier and remained undamaged.
He had locked the doors and windows of the chicken coop, ensuring the safety of the hens and chicks inside throughout the night.
Looking at the fence before him, Naoki set to work on the repairs.
He fetched tools from the storeroom and used a hammer and nails to secure the fences that had been blown over. Then, with Gouleston's help, he lifted the roof that had been blown away and restored it to its original position.
By the time he finished, it was already noon.
Naoki turned on the TV and began preparing lunch for everyone.
As expected, the news program was reporting on the sudden disappearance of the typhoon that was supposed to hit the Paldea region.
"Tap tap tap tap!"
Naoki chopped vegetables as he listened to the TV in the background:
"It is reported that the typhoon 'Raging Parrot', which was expected to hit the Paldea region and last for five days, vanished early this morning."
"We don't know what happened, but it might be good news for the Paldea region."
"Typhoon 'Raging Parrot' caused some damage to the coastal Pokemon ecosystem, affecting many wild Pokemon. Pokemon Centers in nearby towns are currently treating the affected Pokemon."
It was a force of nature, and unless one possessed absolute power, it was impossible to vanquish a typhoon.
Connecting this to the wounds on Aerodactyl's body, the lacerations seemed to be caused by the sharp winds of the storm.
Did Aerodactyl purposely fly into the heart of the typhoon? There was definitely something he didn't know, and it might be related to Aerodactyl.
Naoki recalled the two moves Aerodactyl had used earlier.
Hurricane was reasonable, but Dragon Dance seemed a bit out of place.
Could it be because Aerodactyl ate the Lucky Pudding before it left?
In search of answers, Naoki waited until Aerodactyl woke up and immediately rushed over to ask about the typhoon.
"You went to the typhoon last night?" Naoki asked.
"Roar!" Aerodactyl nodded.
To get up close with the hurricane winds, that was the best option.
Naoki was speechless for a moment, not knowing how to respond.
He continued, "Then do you know how the typhoon disappeared?"
Naoki proceeded to tell Aerodactyl about the news report.
After listening, Aerodactyl blinked, then widened its eyes, clearly shocked. "Roar!"
"Huh?" Naoki was taken aback.
Aerodactyl: "Roar, roar, roar!"
Naoki: "..."
He suddenly felt a tragic disconnect between himself and Aerodactyl.
"If only I had the power of the Everstone," Naoki lamented.
Aerodactyl started roaring again, seemingly recounting its experience from the previous day.
However, Naoki couldn't understand a word, and seeing Aerodactyl's wide eyes, filled with awe, aspiration, and excitement, he suddenly guessed, "You met another person there?"
A human? A trainer?
What kind of trainer could possibly vanquish a typhoon... A Pokemon League Champion? Or perhaps a Frontier Brain?
Could it be Cyrus?
But Aerodactyl shook its head in denial, "Roar!"
It first shook its head and then pointed to itself.
"You met another Aerodactyl?" Naoki wondered if it was the massive Aerodactyl from the Sinnoh region's Spear Pillar.
Aerodactyl shook its head again.
"Not an Aerodactyl or a human... " Naoki suddenly thought of another possibility: "Was it another Pokemon?"
"Roar!" Aerodactyl nodded vigorously; this time, Naoki had guessed right!
It was a Pokemon with terrifying power. It did nothing but exude its aura, and the typhoon dissipated instantly.
"A Pokemon..." Naoki fell into deep thought.
A Pokemon capable of making a typhoon disappear didn't sound like an ordinary one.
Could it be a Legendary Pokemon? Naoki's heart skipped a beat.
His mind conjured images of a few Pokemon associated with wind, ocean currents, and cyclones.
Was it Lugia or Rayquaza?
Based on these two Pokemon, Naoki described their appearances to Aerodactyl.
Upon hearing the description of Lugia, Aerodactyl showed no reaction.
But when Naoki described Rayquaza, Aerodactyl nodded vigorously.
That's the one!
However, the color seemed a bit off...
Aerodactyl furrowed its brow, looking perplexed.
It looked left and right, then finally pointed with its chubby claw at Naoki's black leather boots.
"Roar!" That's the color!
Naoki understood instantly.
A black Rayquaza!
He couldn't help but gasp in astonishment.
