Chapter 838: Yue Ying's Mission
Chapter 838: Yue Ying's Mission
September 25, 2017
Perhaps due to the previous experience of being ambushed and paying a bloody price, Lu Hai Kong's army was extra cautious as they journeyed through the night, bypassing Xichuan County and entering Bingzhou, finally stopping at Shangdang County.
After the past ambush, Lu Hai Kong didn't set up camp in the wilderness but instead headed straight for a small county town in Shangdang County.
Bingzhou was, after all, Lu Hai Kong's territory, and he had no need to suffer in the wild. Moreover, they had nearly exhausted their supplies, and the army needed to replenish and rest.
Upon entering Bingzhou, things were indeed different from the situation at the Sili School.
Lu Hai Kong's army hadn't even reached the small county town yet, but the county magistrate and his deputy were already informed of their arrival and sprang into action, eager to provide the best accommodations for Lu Hai Kong.
As the unofficial king of Bingzhou, Lu Hai Kong's soldiers, though not wanting to flatter, were quick to mobilize the county's resources to ensure Lu Hai Kong's comfort.
Not only were the Bathing Blood soldiers of exceptional quality, but they were also not invincible. After days of scarce supplies and harsh conditions, marching through the night, they were exhausted and in need of rest.
As soon as they entered the camp, the soldiers, including Lu Hai Kong himself, collapsed into a deep slumber, their bodies craving the much-needed rest.
What Lu Hai Kong didn't know was that while he and his army rested, a group of people nearby began to stir, plotting something sinister.

Chapter 1: The Gathering
In a small county town, a group of individuals, each donning black cloaks with distinct patterns and colors, had already set up a base of operations a couple of miles away from the military camp.
As they gathered, one of them, marked with the character 'Hai' on his collar, spoke up: "Have you prepared everything as planned?"
"The chef has been bribed, and the poison is ready. In half an hour, it will take effect," replied the person with the character 'Xu' on their collar.
"Are you sure the poison has been administered? We don't want any slip-ups," questioned the person with the character 'Xu.'
"Rest assured, we have everything under control. Our target is still in their camp, and they won't suspect a thing," Hai assured them, his voice carrying a hint of confidence.
"That's right. We've been watching them closely, and they're like a pack of loyal dogs, easily fooled. It's a shame they didn't learn from their previous mistake," Xu added, a cold smile forming on their lips.
"We can't afford to be careless. Our target is well-guarded, and we don't want to underestimate them," said the person with the character 'Wei,' their brow furrowing in concern.
"Don't worry, we've got this under control," Hai and Xu chimed in, their initial lightheartedness fading.
"Good. Then let's begin..." Wei started, but his voice trailed off as a chilling aura of murderous intent suddenly enveloped them, causing their bodies to freeze.
Just then, a figure in white emerged from the darkness, their snow-white attire contrasting sharply with the crimson rope they held, the other end of which was tied to a limbless, bloodied body.
The stark contrast between the white-clad figure and the gruesome sight they presented was unnerving, even to the hardened Wei, Xu, and Hai.
As the white-clad figure, Yue Ying, spoke, her voice carrying a hint of madness, "Are you ready to face your deaths?"
Before her words could fully land, hundreds of Ghost Shadow Guards simultaneously appeared, encircling the trio.
