Chapter 836: The Iron Gantry is Just a "Protective Color"
Chapter 836: The Iron Gantry is Just a "Protective Color"
"Blocked!!" Lida roared at the top of his lungs.
"This little brat!"
Bartholomew inside the mechanical human was stunned, then his lips curled into an excited grin. "Actually managed to block my strength?!"
The seven Vice Admirals were familiar faces—ones he'd encountered over twenty years ago. Their interference wasn't accidental, but for this mere brat to possess such immense power was surprising.
"But it won't last long."
Bartholomew raised his fist to unleash force when suddenly a series of rapid footsteps rang out. From the sky, a figure leaped forth like lightning.
Dracule Mihawk unsheathed his massive Black Blade midair, his hawk-like eyes locked onto the mechanical human. Gripping the blade with both hands, he cleaved downward like a bolt of black thunder.
Hawk-Eye had struck!
"Dracule Mihawk!"
The mechanical human laughed aloud, his arms swinging outward. He flung Lida aside first, and though the seven Vice Admirals tried to intercept, they couldn't withstand his sudden surge of strength and were sent sprawling.
Crossing his arms midair, the mechanical human channeled energy to his limbs, blocking Mihawk's descending slash.
Crash!!!
Crack!!
The black blade met his arms, sending shockwaves rippling through the island. The air above shattered with a brittle sound, and the ground beneath his feet split into two deep fissures. The giant's body sank downward, his legs embedding halfway into the earth.
"Blocked?" Dracule Mihawk asked coolly.
"Dracule Mihawk! I'll kill you!" Bartholomew snarled with a malevolent grin.
"Hmph." A disdainful smile curled Mihawk's lips.
Boom!
At that moment, another figure rushed over swiftly—Boa Hancock, abandoning her usual noble demeanor entirely. She sprinted with arms flailing, long legs powering forward.
"I don't care about your reputation or motives! But targeting a Marine officer? Absolutely not!"
Her body blurred, legs spinning midair before snapping straight like a gleaming silver spear aimed at the mechanical human's chest-abdomen area.
"Strong Scent Kick!!"
Boom!!
The kick slammed into the mechanical human, forcing its body backward. The Haki covering it shattered, and even the thick metal plating caved inward, sending cracks radiating outward.
"Tch, as expected." Kuro, biting his cigar, stared at the struck area. "This woman's terrifyingly strong."
"Haki vanished?!"
After Boa Hancock's strike, a sandstorm erupted. Crocodile sped through it using extreme speed, his left hand transforming into a cutlass-shaped sandification weapon aimed at the same chest-abdomen region.
"Time to repay old debts! Taste it yourself!"
His body blurred past the chest-abdomen area, the desert cutlass slicing through the mechanical human's torso.
Crocodile dashed forward, gloomily intoning: "Erosion Wheel—Recoil!!"
Whoosh!
The targeted area rapidly transformed into sand and rust, particles scattering like willow fluff. The sandification spread rapidly upward and downward, devouring the mechanical body at extreme speed.
"Crocodile!!" a furious roar erupted from within.
"Drown in your arrogance, Bartholomew! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Crocodile released an eerie, high-pitched laugh.
These Seven Warlords of the Sea—each laugh more absurd than the last. Who taught them such habits?
The sandification couldn't be stopped. Bartholomew knew this ability well from past encounters. If his energy fusion technique activated, it would only accelerate his disintegration.
And right now, he couldn't execute that technique at all.
Bang!!
Boa Hancock's leg drilled through the sandification zone, kicking upward with tremendous force. The mechanical human's upper body rocketed skyward while its lower half rapidly disintegrated. Without Haki protection, it was just a useless iron mass—insignificant to someone of their caliber.
"Hmph."
Dracule Mihawk smiled faintly. Still suspended midair, his blade slashed again, carving two deep gashes into the giant arm. The now-headless upper body of the mechanical human hurtled backward.
It should've landed in an empty area, but suddenly a long-robed figure appeared.
"I can't see you, I can't see you..."
Buggy slithered like a worm, dragging his subordinate forward while inching away from the battlefield.
No way he'd join this fight!
"Buggy!"
Suddenly Mr.3 shouted, pointing at the flying mechanical body: "Something's coming this way!"
"What?!"
Buggy turned, eyes widening as the mechanical titan barreled toward them. His nose twitched, snot flying. "Why here?! Why here?! Dammit! Unforgivable!!!"
Frantically, he lifted his foot and pointed forward. A red Buggy Ball shot out, slamming into the mechanical body's back.
Boom!!
An explosion erupted, sending a massive dust cloud billowing.
"Calm Step!!"
At that exact moment, Lucci seized his chance. His foot curled with tremendous force, unleashing a massive pale blue radiance into the smoke. The mechanical body exploded outward from the smoke.
"Ahhhaha!"
Buggy hadn't seen Lucci's attack, but he struck a pose with hands on hips and laughed: "My amazing power just blasted that thing away!!"
Lucci lunged forward, chasing the flying mechanical body. Now broken beyond recognition, Bartholomew's form was visible inside.
Almost time to capture him—there were secrets within that man!
Crocodile had the same idea. His body transformed into sand, speeding toward the target.
Kuro exhaled smoke, his expression turning grave. "He's coming out."
"Erosion Wheel—Recoil!!"
Crocodile arrived first, pressing his hand against the airborne body to accelerate sandification. Lucci arrived next, transforming into leopard form for a downward slash.
But as Crocodile reached into the sandified mass to capture Bartholomew, his expression suddenly changed. He rapidly transformed into sand to escape.
Bang!
An impact exploded from within the sandified mass, striking Crocodile's sand form and sending it hurtling backward.
Crocodile reappeared in the distance, clutching his chest with a gloomy expression.
Crack!
Almost simultaneously, a white-gloved hand emerged from the sandified remains. Grasping Lucci's ankle, it twisted with tremendous force—swinging him like a club before hurling him. Lucci crashed heavily to the ground, sliding backward with a thunderous sound.
Boom!
Finally, the sandified remains hit the ground, releasing a cloud of sand-dust and smoke.
From the haze emerged a towering figure.
Bartholomew strolled leisurely forward, clothes pristine, face unscathed, and smile growing wider.
"That iron Gantry was just his protective color", Kuro murmured.
