A month later, Jerry, who had converted the red stars obtained from stopping Steppewolf into life energy, had successfully restored the dozen or so planets back to life. He once again gathered Superman and the other superheroes together.
After returning to the level of a single universe, the red stars could no longer help him enhance his strength. He needed to perfect his universe.
However, the red stars could be converted into any form of energy, which could be used to restore the planets destroyed by Darkseid's army and rebuild new life systems, making them quite useful.
"Jerry, are we really just going with this small group? Shouldn't we call in more of our ocean warriors?"
In the Abyssal Ocean, Arthur, holding the Golden Trident, asked with a mix of anxiety.
This was an assault on Darkseid's stronghold on Apokolips. Going with just a few of them seemed a bit too reckless.
"No need. Most of your ocean warriors can only fully utilize their powers in water. If they come, they'll be severely restricted and suffer heavy casualties. Don't worry, I've already found allies who can help in the fight."
Jerry handed three Mother Boxes to Steppewolf, who stood beside him.
Not to mention the ocean warriors from the four seas, even Arthur and the others, in terms of actual combat, wouldn't be much help. Bringing them would be more for morale.
"Arthur, if Jerry says he's got this, he definitely has a solid plan."
Clark walked over and patted Arthur on the shoulder.
Superman was the only one among them who knew that Jerry had his own universe and that Superman's universe contained a billion Kryptonians.
"Still, how did you get him to be so obedient?"
Clark pointed at Steppewolf, who had been following Jerry like a loyal servant since he appeared, his face full of curiosity.
The others also perked up their ears, equally puzzled.
"Oh, it's Binding Magic, a type of magic used by Ancient Mages to bind dragons. I found that it works on Aliens other than humans as well."
Jerry explained with a smile.
Upon hearing Jerry's explanation, the Martian Manhunter twitched his mouth and silently moved behind Bruce.
Martians, of course, are also Aliens.
"Boom!"
A loud noise echoed as the three Mother Boxes, under Steppewolf's control, merged and opened a gateway to Apokolips.
"Let's go, it's time to set off!"
Seeing this, Jerry took the lead and stepped into the gateway.
Superman, Martian Manhunter, The Flash, and Wonder Woman followed closely behind. Lastly, Batman and Catwoman, holding hands, stepped through as well.
"Master, the Spatial Gateway opened by the Mother Boxes will soon be detected by Darkseid. We need to move quickly."
As soon as they entered Apokolips, Steppewolf immediately alerted Jerry.
Apokolips was Darkseid's base of operations. As long as Darkseid wasn't out on a campaign, it would be difficult for anything to happen on this planet without his notice, especially since Darkseid was very familiar with the energy signature of the Mother Boxes.
Jerry looked around at the towering mechanical structures and the hellishly red ground, then asked Steppewolf:
"Do you know where Darkseid's mage units are located?"
Kryptonian warriors were incredibly strong, and even with Darkseid's numerous powerful subordinates, they probably wouldn't match the Kryptonians in physical strength. However, Darkseid's army definitely had units proficient in magic.
If the Kryptonian army were to face a large-scale magic attack, it would be a significant problem. Jerry would need to focus on dealing with Darkseid himself, so it was best to take out most of the mages before the enemy fully reacted or didn't take them seriously enough.
"Master, there is a ten-thousand-strong Witch force at a base ten thousand miles away. I will take you there."
New Gods Temple on Apokolips.
Darkseid, seated on the throne, suddenly opened his eyes.
"Steppewolf has some nerve, returning to Apokolips without my permission. Desaad, send someone to bring him to me!"
Darkseid was unaware that Steppewolf was under control, so when he sensed Steppewolf using a Mother Box to return to Apokolips, he instinctively assumed Steppewolf had conquered that universe and was using the Mother Box's power to secretly return home.
A towering figure, nearly eight meters tall and hooded, floated before Darkseid:
"Rest assured, I will send Grail to bring him here!"
Darkseid nodded and closed his eyes again.
Grail, also known as Amazing Grail and the Master Manipulator, is one of Darkseid's top lieutenants. She can instantly control the minds of enemies, turning them into her obedient servants.
At the Witch base, a Spatial Gateway opened, and Jerry and the others emerged one by one.
"Master, this is the place."
Steppewolf, wielding his massive axe, was ready for battle, as were Clark and the others.
But Jerry waved his hand:
"No need, I will handle it myself!"
The goal was to act quickly and decisively, resolving all threats before Darkseid fully reacted.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A massive green Magic sphere flew from his hand, appearing like a small sun above the base. It then split into ten thousand smaller spheres, each one precisely targeting the various oddly shaped Witches within the base.
The Witches, sensing the impending danger, activated their most powerful Magic shields to try and block the Killing Curse.
However, the Killing Curse has the property of ignoring any shield, and after multiple improvements by Jerry, it can also penetrate solid, non-living matter and track the target's mind.
As a result, none of the Witches managed to fully block the Killing Curse, and they all fell to the ground.
Of course, not all Witches were killed. A very small number survived by relying on their powerful life force.
While most Witches in the universe have weak physical bodies, there are a few alien Witches who are born with strong physical forms. Their Magic shields couldn't withstand the Killing Curse, but their resilient life force allowed them to survive the attack.
Jerry wasn't concerned. As long as it wasn't a large-scale threat, a few surviving Witches wouldn't pose a significant danger to Kryptonian warriors. The Kryptonian Battle Suits worn by the Kryptonian warriors can also resist Magic damage.
Moreover, most Kryptonian warriors, in addition to hand-to-hand combat, can use advanced Kryptonian technology and weapons. In later stages, they can even use Heat Vision.
"Steppewolf, you dare to betray the great Lord Darkseid and bring enemies to Apokolips!"
Suddenly, a harsh voice echoed above Jerry and the others. It was Grail, the Master Manipulator, arriving with her troops.
She had initially thought Steppewolf had returned to Apokolips out of homesickness, but she never expected such a despicable betrayal.
"I love it when you come at me one by one."
Looking up at Grail, Jerry's face broke into a slight smile.
