Chapter 832: Where the Hell is That Laser Cannon?!
Chapter 832: Where the Hell is That Laser Cannon?!
The ocean waves surrounding the island surged upward the moment Kuro gripped his Fist, coalescing at the highest heavens to completely seal off the island.
At the peak, the waves transformed into a roaring, majestic lion’s head. The thunderous roar of the surging tides became its voice as it charged straight downward—its target was the island itself.
“Run for your lives!!”
The pirates screamed in despair, fleeing in panic.
But in the Grand Line, who could possibly outrun a tsunami?
In this world, a tsunami was a cataclysmic disaster!
And this wasn’t even a natural one—Kuro had infused it with spiraling vortexes. If you looked closely, you’d see whirlpools forming in certain spots. This monstrous force could crush an entire island into dust.
The pirates were merely collateral damage. The true target was Bartholomew!
“Let’s see how you handle a tsunami!” Kuro’s face twisted into a gruesome grin.
“Hahahahaha, this is exactly what I want!!”
Bartholomew didn’t flinch—he welcomed it!
Twenty years ago, this man had used his ability to make even Roger suffer. Whether he’d stayed young or not was irrelevant. In a world where Whitebeard and Roger had already fallen, his first goal was to defeat Kuro!
Defeat him, kill him, then conquer every other strongman left in the world. Become the absolute Strongest.
Golden Lion was just the first, but certainly not the last!
“If you’re using abilities…”
Bartholomew bared his bone-white teeth, gripped his Fist tightly, and slammed it into the ground.
Crash!
The impact shattered the earth beneath him, sending cracks sprawling outward. The ground at his feet exploded, and from the debris emerged a steel-built submersible warship.
The warship ascended, lifting Bartholomew onto its deck as he grinned, “My ship, Ejection. For over two years, I’ve collected all sorts of steel and weapons. Let’s go—release it!”
A mosaic of purple energy erupted from his body, spreading outward to envelop the ship.
Bartholomew roared, “I’m the one who ate the Fusion Devil Fruit—the Fusion Human! I can fuse with anything and transform! Like this—Armor Fusion!!”
The purple mosaic engulfed both himself and the ship, writhing before reshaping into a mechanical humanoid with massive arms!
“That’s not all!”
Bartholomew’s voice boomed from within the mechanical titan as more purple energy surged from his body like a tidal wave, rushing across the ground.
“Devil Fruit users occasionally Awaken. This is my awakened power! This entire island will become my fusion core!!”
The speed eclipsed even Kuro’s descending tsunami. In moments, it swallowed nearby islands and buildings whole.
“Figured you’d try that. Otherwise, why wouldn’t I smash the island down?”
Kuro’s voice was calm. He raised his finger slightly.
Boom!!
Every ship docked at the island’s harbor launched skyward, along with forests and houses, escaping Bartholomew’s grasp.
That’s why he’d forbidden the Vice Admirals from approaching by ship—fearing this very tactic. Kuro had literally peeled off the island’s top layer.
The island was connected to a continental shelf below. Raising it entirely would’ve been too troublesome and time-consuming—so he simply stripped away everything not rooted to the soil. Trees, houses, ships—all lifted into the air, condensing into a massive floating cluster. Meanwhile, the crashing tsunami mysteriously created a massive hole in the heavens, allowing the cluster to soar through.
Bartholomew’s energy could only reach the bare ground now, writhing in frustration.
Boom Boom!
After the energy lashed out, it recoiled, forming a skeletal structure of soil and stone around the mechanical titan. The mosaic lines wrapped around it, gradually assembling into a colossal stone giant.
The island itself had become a barren plane. Under the Fusion Devil Fruit’s power, the earlier island shards had recombined, the terrain aggregating to cover the original triple-branch sea channel.
A once-thriving trade hub was now a desolate wasteland.
Strong men reshaping landscapes was common, after all.
“Rooaaar!!”
The titan roared to the heavens, raising its massive arm. Blue energy lines surged across its body, converging into the Fist on its right arm. It hurled a punch at the descending lion-shaped tsunami.
Haki!
Even at this gargantuan size, it was still filled with Haki!
“This level of Haki…”
Kuro’s eyelids twitched. “Truly a monster!”
Boom!!!
Seawater rained down, flooding the island and drowning every pirate still trapped on it.
The Fusion Devil Fruit’s ability had no effect on living beings.
Earlier, Kuro had peeled the island’s top layer without regard for the pirates. Now, the tsunami drowned every last one—no hiding places remained.
Yet the falling lion-shaped wave was smashed apart by the Haki-infused punch, scattering into a downpour. The seawater flooding the island barely reached the titan’s calves.
The swirling tides were powerless against Haki’s defense.
“Lucius Kro!”
The titan turned its gaze to Kuro, raising its Fist again. Energy lines surged along its arm as it prepared to strike.
At that moment, Kuro, suspended in midair, activated the Transponder Snail on his wrist and shouted, “Kas, Wilbur! Where the hell is that laser cannon?!”
Just then, the seawater dispersed, revealing Golden Lion in the sky. His ship’s prow tilted downward, its lion-faced figurehead opening its massive jaws. From its maw erupted a yellow beam.
On the deck, Kas slammed his chest and bellowed, “Acceleration—Tenfold!!”
Inside the ship’s engine room, Wilbur’s forehead veins bulged blue as he gripped the massive laser cannon. “Amplify—Tenfold!!”
“Fire!!!”
They shouted in unison.
Boom!!!
A beam as thick as a celestial pillar shot toward the towering titan.
The laser cannon!
They’d been charging it since the fight began.
Or rather, ever since Kuro sensed Golden Lion’s location, he’d used his ability to force Golden Lion into the skies, keeping him on standby.
Kuro never intended to finish off Bartholomew with just a tsunami.
This bastard was barely over forty—about Kuzan’s age. His innate talent surpassed even Kuzan’s. Such a prime opponent wouldn’t fall to mere seawater. If he had, Kuro could’ve already achieved world peace.
But this was a battle of attrition.
One hit at a time.
The laser cannon wasn’t just powerful—it could obliterate entire islands with a single shot. And now, amplified tenfold.
“You’ve got it coming!” Kuro’s eyes gleamed cruelly.
