Chapter 83: I Like Your Wild and Untamed Look
Chapter 83: I Like Your Wild and Untamed Look
From the remaining five mature Spirit Fireflies, three first-grade talismans were produced, along with two Sword Qi talismans and an Exorcism talisman.
There was also a drop of Grass Spirit Original Liquid, which Lu Chen injected into the large goiter of his dutiful Grass Puppet.
Under the impact of a large amount of wood spirit qi, the Grass Puppet's huge head gradually turned green.
Another Spirit Firefly of perfect quality produced a Primordial Gold Sword Manual experience pack.
Lu Chen absorbed it and, after comprehending it thoroughly, felt that his understanding and control of this sword technique had reached an extreme realm.
"A first-grade sword technique of the Grandmaster realm."
With a thought from Lu Chen, a golden sword qi shot out from his body and swiftly moved around the courtyard, leaving afterimages in its wake.
The sword qi was emitted and retracted at will, and whether it was speed, range, or lethality, it had improved even further. Lu Chen estimated that the Primordial Gold Sword Technique could now surpass many second-grade spells.
He carefully packed the ten Spirit Fireflies into a jade box and continued to inspect his spirit fields.
The four Blood Jade Ginseng plants that were left for seeds had plump and reddish ginseng seeds on their stems, indicating that they wouldn't need much longer before they could be harvested.
On the entangled old branches of the Qingmiao Spirit Tea, tiny green tea leaves trembled slightly in the wind. Around the Copper Bone Bamboo, the spirit soil was filled with reddish-golden copper and iron filings, and the bamboo joints had grown taller after being nourished for some time.
The misty smoke around the Illusion Smoke Raisin had expanded a bit further, and the misty spirit fruit hidden within was almost indistinguishable from the surrounding smoke.
The Dragon Vine was irrigated with second-grade Emerald Water Python blood every other day. Under the influence of the python blood, the black vines were now covered in red and green patterns, occasionally wriggling slowly like a colorful venomous snake.
The Sword Grass and Dark Marrow were getting closer to maturity, and Lu Chen checked the progress bar under the spirit plants every day, afraid that he might miss the most suitable time to harvest them.
The Pure Snow Lotus bloomed alone in the Spirit Spring Pool, but sadly, the Red-Whiskered Carps that had accompanied its growth had disappeared, leaving no one to admire the pure white lotus.
As Lu Chen gazed at the empty Spirit Spring Pool, a sudden thought emerged in his mind.
The flesh of demonic beasts nourished by the spirit spring would be extremely tender. Having just one Pure Snow Lotus seemed like a waste, so Lu Chen decided to take a trip to the loose cultivator's market to see if he could find any aquatic demonic beasts.
Hmm, preferably something edible.
With a slight movement of his shoulders, the Cloud-Stepping Lynx that was elegantly perched on the wall beside him immediately jumped down, its cloud-like paws landing on Lu Chen's robe.
Seeing Lu Chen turn his head, a pair of emerald green eyes stared coldly at him.
"Grass Puppet, watch the house carefully!" Lu Chen called out to the Grass Puppet with half of its head turned green, standing at a distance.
The Grass Puppet, with its half-green head, slowly twisted, seemingly responding to Lu Chen.
After being infused with several drops of Grass Spirit Original Liquid by Lu Chen, the Grass Puppet had developed a simple spirit intelligence, allowing it to execute Lu Chen's orders more effectively.
Lu Chen activated the Misty Illusion Array and arrived at the loose cultivator's market.
After a few days of absence, there were noticeable changes in the various stalls in the market.
Lu Chen had been paying close attention and soon noticed that many stalls were offering a large variety of new demonic beast materials, spirit herbs, and spirit medicines.
Among them were no shortage of second-grade materials and spirit medicines.
Lu Chen walked towards a bustling area, where he overheard snippets of hushed conversations.
"I heard that many cultivators struck it rich recently, finding a trove of treasures in a secret realm."
"One of my friends in the entertainment district told me that a fellow cultivator sought her company after returning from a secret realm. After a night of intimate conversation, he gifted her a large sum of spirit stones. Apparently, he discovered a hidden stash of spirit herbs in the secret realm and brought back dozens of first and second-grade spirit plants."
As the crowd of cultivators chatted, their eyes shone with envy and jealousy, wishing they could trade places with those fortunate cultivators and soar to new heights.
Lu Chen, however, remained calm and composed as he walked through the crowd.
Although the new secret realm had already been explored by the Wang family, their focus had been on the core area. Undoubtedly, there were still many overlooked treasures in the outer regions, giving numerous explorers the chance to stumble upon their own opportunities.
These scattered cultivators discussing the matter only noticed the opportunities gained by their peers, oblivious to the countless bones and deaths that lay beneath, taken by the beasts, evil spirits, and their own kind.
Suddenly, a whistling sound rang out, and Lu Chen looked up to see a brilliant sword light streaking across the market like a rainbow piercing the sun. In the blink of an eye, it disappeared into the distance.
"With the opening of the new secret realm, this place has become less peaceful. I've heard that disciples from the surrounding sects have come here to explore and train."
Lu Chen gleaned valuable information from the surrounding discussions.
He made his way to a shop specializing in demon beast materials, young beasts, and eggs of demonic birds.
"Fellow Daoist, do you have any aquatic young beasts for sale? Preferably something edible." Lu Chen inquired of the shop owner.
The owner, a slender young man, greeted Lu Chen warmly. "Aquatic young beasts? We have several kinds. Are you looking for first-grade or ungraded ones?"
"First-grade, please." Lu Chen replied.
The three-tailed red-whiskered carp he had purchased before was delicious, but its grade was relatively low. If he were to raise it again, the white light group reward it would bring upon maturity would likely be underwhelming. Thus, Lu Chen decided to try raising a first-grade demon beast.
"First-grade aquatic demon beasts that are also delicious... We only have a few Iron Claw Crabs that meet your requirements, Fellow Daoist. Please come with me to take a look."
The slender young man led Lu Chen to a pool.
Inside the pool were seven or eight crabs, each about the size of an infant's head.
"These are Iron Claw Crabs, first-grade demon beasts. When raised to maturity, their roe is fragrant and fatty, and their meat is fresh and tender—a true delicacy," the shop owner explained.
"However, as their name suggests, they have a pair of sharp claw legs, and they are highly aggressive. But with your Qi Refining cultivation base, you should be able to control them well if you decide to raise them yourself."
Lu Chen nodded and looked into the pool.
The Iron Claw Crab younglings were already the size of an infant's head, their shells a dark bluish-black. Their eyes protruded, rolling around curiously.
One particular crab noticed Lu Chen's gaze and lifted its large claw legs, resembling daggers, to wave at Lu Chen in a provocative manner.
A slight smile curved Lu Chen's lips.
"I like your wild and untamed look."
He turned to the slender young man and asked, "How many spirit stones for each of these Iron Claw Crab younglings?"
"Twenty-three spirit stones each."
"I'll take four. How about eighteen spirit stones each?" Lu Chen had become wealthier, but he still maintained his frugal habits and haggled for a better deal.
After some back and forth, they settled on a price of twenty spirit stones per crab, and Lu Chen purchased four Iron Claw Crab younglings.
"I'll take that one first." Lu Chen pointed at the crab that had just challenged him, speaking to the young man.
