Chapter 83: Dragon's Dance
Chapter 83: Dragon's Dance
Dragonite had never seen a Pokemon like this before.
It possessed a massive draconic body, pitch-black in color, adorned with ancient-looking golden patterns. Its golden irises exuded an intangible aura of dominance, akin to a deity. It hovered high in the sky, looking down upon the minuscule beings below.
One large, one small, one black, and one orange.
In this moment, time seemed to stand still as the two figures stared at each other in silence.
"Roar..."
Dragonite's expression turned solemn; the other Pokemon seemed to bear no ill will.
After a long while, the mysterious Pokemon suddenly moved.
With a twist of its massive and sharp black body, it tore through the air and soared towards the higher reaches of the sky.
As it moved, an invisible cyclone emanated from its body, followed by a colossal surge of power that expanded outward from that point at an unimaginable speed.
In an instant, the raging storm over the ocean was crushed, and the terrifying typhoon vanished without a trace.
"Roar!"
Dragonite's eyes widened, deeply awestruck by what it had just witnessed.
What incredible power!
Without lifting a finger, the mysterious Pokemon had dispersed the terrifying typhoon simply by releasing its overwhelming aura...
The image of that black silhouette was seared into Dragonite's memory.
After witnessing the valiant posture of the unknown Pokemon, a sudden realization flashed through Dragonite's mind.
Recalling the other Pokemon's twisting motion, Dragonite imitated it and burst into an intense, frenzied dance—a Dragon's Dance.
A powerful surge of energy erupted from the depths of its being, and in that moment, Dragonite felt every cell in its body roaring with excitement.
This sensation seemed to push it into a state of fervor, and a newfound strength welled up within its body.
After a while, Dragonite gradually adapted to this novel feeling.
It lifted its head, only to find that the mysterious Pokemon had vanished without a trace, as if it had never been there at all.
It had left.
Under the serene night sky, only Dragonite's lone dragon-like silhouette remained.
With the typhoon's influence gone, the waves on the ocean's surface gradually calmed, and the spiral cloud connecting heaven and earth began to dissipate.
The stars and the moon reappeared in the sky, reflecting on the deep blue waters and creating a breathtaking spectacle.
Dragonite blinked and then lifted its head to gaze at the moon.
What a beautiful moon! Dragonite thought.
Now, it was time to return!
---
The next morning.
The overnight typhoon had mysteriously vanished, and the torrential rain had ceased.
The typhoon seemed to have departed from the Paldea region, leaving its whereabouts unknown.
A transparent drop of water fell from the eaves, landing on the grass below.
The puddles in the mud reflected the azure sky and fluffy clouds—a sign of another clear day.
Naoki stood under the eaves, gazing into the distance, and muttered,
"That's odd. Weren't the weather reports predicting that this typhoon would last for several days?"
However, what concerned him more was that Dragonite hadn't returned yet.
With that thought, Naoki turned to look at Gurdurr behind him and asked, "Gurdurr, can you sense Dragonite's presence?"
"Ga Gi Gurr..."
Gurdurr yawned nonchalantly, shook its head, and instantly snapped out of its drowsiness.
Suddenly, it seemed to notice something and lifted its head to look forward.
Following its gaze, Naoki spotted Dragonite flying toward them from the distance.
Finally, it's back! Naoki breathed a sigh of relief.
"Roar!"
Seeing Dragonite like this, Naoki couldn't help but ask, "You didn't stay up all night practicing a new move, did you?"
Dragonite nodded its large head.
Then, it moved to the grassy area beside them and excitedly demonstrated what it had learned for Naoki.
Dragonite flapped its wings, summoning a fierce storm that swept forward with incredible intensity.
"Hurricane?" Naoki asked, surprised.
Dragonite nodded but didn't stop there.
After finishing the first move, it began to perform an intense and mysterious dance, full of power.
"Dragon Dance!?" Naoki exclaimed, even more astonished. "Did you also learn this last night?"
"Roar!" Dragonite affirmed.
Regarding this, it had to thank that mysterious Pokemon!
If not for the inspiration from the other Pokemon, it might not have mastered these moves so quickly.
An image of the mysterious Pokemon dispersing the typhoon flashed through Dragonite's mind, leaving it in awe.
Naoki didn't think too much into it and was just glad to have Dragonite back safe and sound.
"Alright, it's better that you're back safe and sound. Let's go have breakfast! You must be tired from staying up all night. Get some rest after you eat. I'll take care of the ranch work today!"
As they walked into the house, Naoki gave instructions while turning to get some sheep milk from the fridge.
After the typhoon, some of the facilities and crops on the ranch were affected, so they had their work cut out for them today.
Dragonite was indeed feeling weary.
It first devoured the restorative Lecberry that Naoki had prepared, then proceeded to eat breakfast.
After quickly finishing its meal, Dragonite returned to its Poke Ball to catch up on some much-needed sleep.
Meanwhile, Naoki and Gurdurr set off to town with the sheep milk, heading toward Mrs. Tantes' house, guided by his memory.
Knocking on the door, they were greeted by the kind elderly lady with white hair, a surprised look on her face. She scanned the area, not spotting the familiar figure she expected.
Mrs. Tantes' sharp intuition worried her, and she inquired, "Is Dragonite alright?"
Naoki nodded. "Dragonite was up late last night dealing with the typhoon and is now resting at the ranch. That's why I came to deliver the milk today."
"Oh, thank goodness!" Mrs. Tantes breathed a sigh of relief, a smile spreading across her face as she took the sheep milk from Naoki. "Come in and have a cup of tea!"
Naoki politely declined. "I should get back; there's still a lot to do at the ranch."
Mrs. Tantes insisted, "It'll only take a few minutes!"
Her wrinkled face softened with a gentle smile. "It won't take long."
Seeing her insistence, Naoki reluctantly agreed.
He thanked her and, along with Gurdurr, stepped into the living room.
Mrs. Tantes put away the milk and went to the kitchen to prepare the tea. A few minutes later, she returned with two cups of steaming sweet red tea, milk added, and a plate of small biscuits for Gurdurr.
She placed the tea on the table and offered the biscuits with a warm introduction. "This tea is made with tea leaves from Northtown, famous for their production. Please, have a taste!"
