Chapter 827
Chapter 827
"Iron Sand? Magnetic forces?"
Kuro stared at Klah the Cyclops in mild surprise. The Cyclops' stance made it clear he’d just extracted iron filings from the soil. Kuro knew all soils contained some iron particles—common enough in any terrain. But high-speed shockwave iron filings? That was breaking the rules!
High-frequency shockwave attack?!
Feglie crouched low, a red targeting dot forming in his eye as he shifted into a pouncing stance, his feet grinding against the ground.
"Go!"
A screech erupted as Feglie’s feet ignited a wisp of smoke, his body launching forward with a deep gash cracking beneath him. At the same time, Luo Ci surged forward from the other side, both splitting to attack Kuro from left and right.
Luo Ci’s speed lagged slightly behind Feglie’s, trailing a faint afterimage, but suddenly he spat out a spiderweb from his mouth. It descended over Kuro in the sunlight, its threads gleaming with metallic sheen. Decent hardness.
Kuro narrowed his eyes, preparing to evade, but noticed countless black iron particles rising from the ground. Across from him, Klah the Cyclops spread his palms, electric sparks erupting from his hands. Iron filings surged from the soil, guided by the electricity to concentrate around Kuro like marching ants, their shockwaves intensifying as they closed in, leaving no escape.
Feglie struck from the flank, a sonic boom trailing his punch.
"Tactical coordination’s not bad", Kuro admitted.
They’d sealed his dodging space, trapped him from above, and sent a physically dominant fighter to close in. A weaker opponent would’ve fallen.
But—
"The spiderweb’s too soft." Kuro flicked his hand. Autumn Water became a black streak, cleaving the web in half.
"Iron Sand concentration’s too slow." He leapt, vaulting over the shockwave-laden particles, and slashed downward at Feglie.
"Tooth Gun Fist!!"
Feglie roared, his fists morphing into clawed blades. The claws clashed with Autumn Water, a sharp clang echoing as shockwaves rippled outward, howling winds scattering dust.
The Iron Sand clinging to his claws suddenly dispersed mid-strike, scattering like buckshot toward Kuro’s face.
"Attack pattern’s obvious." Kuro tilted his head, dodging the spread, then twisted to avoid Feglie’s blade. His boot slammed into Feglie’s face with a thunderous crack, sending him flying backward. In mid-air, Feglie spun, countering with a golden slash aimed at Luo Ci, who’d tried to ambush from behind.
Luo Ci barely crossed his Six Arms to block, the slash halting his assault.
"Your sneak attack’s blindingly obvious." Kuro landed, cigar clenched in his teeth, sighing. "Weak tactics, sloppy execution, disorganized coordination, and slow reactions. Not a single one of you’s worth the effort."
"Don’t mock me!!" Feglie flipped mid-air, landing solidly. "You’re just a junior! Don’t talk down to me! I was once a candidate for Admiral! How could I lose to you easily!!"
"Ha? You?" Kuro sized him up. "Did you beg the World Government for scraps?"
This guy? Admiral material? He’d be lucky to reach Vice Admiral.
"Don’t underestimate me!!" Feglie crossed his arms, leaping high. His eyes narrowed; his claws hardened with Haki, the air around them vibrating with compressed force. He dove downward, claws spread like a beast’s gaping maw.
"Feel my reputation—‘Dog Bite’!!" Feglie roared, feral.
His attack could pierce Haki defenses!
"Oh? Now you’re mildly interesting." Kuro’s eyes sharpened. This level of Haki brushed the threshold of Unified Haki. Given time, he might even breach it before death—like some red-eyed fool who achieved it on his deathbed.
But there’s a difference. One peak is rarely scaled, the other? Climbed so often they’ve added handrails.
Kuro’s arm tensed, Autumn Water’s blade sparking with golden electricity, ready to end the traitor—when a piercing sonic boom interrupted.
Instinctively, he slashed. A high-frequency Iron Sand Black Gun shattered against his blade, the fragments splitting into two Iron Sand spears that lunged at him.
Boom!!
The spears detonated the ground, smoke and dust choking the air. When it cleared, twin craters gaped where Kuro had stood.
"That’s dangerous." Kuro reappeared beside the craters, expression grave. Good thing he’d dodged—the shockwaves could shatter weaker Haki.
He glanced at Klah the Cyclops, still gathering Iron Sand like a swarm of bees, more filings rising from the soil.
"Roar!!" Feglie descended from above, claws slashing.
Clang!! Kuro raised Autumn Water, blocking effortlessly. Its blade, claimed unbreakable even by elephants, held against Feglie’s claws—enhanced by his Haki. Kuro prepared to unleash Unified Haki, ready to sever the old man’s claws and head, then deal with the Iron Sand user. But he paused.
Wait—Iron Sand’s physical matter.
He inhaled sharply, eyes widening at Klah’s maniacal gathering. He couldn’t replicate that—his ability leaned toward "shaping." But someone else could…
This hesitation cost him. Feglie grinned maliciously. "Struggling? My strength’s huge too!!"
He gripped Autumn Water’s blade, clawing for Kuro’s head. "Dog Bite – Black Devour!!"
Kuro leaned back, kicking Feglie’s wrists. The claws loosened, allowing him to extract Autumn Water and retreat.
"Chain Saw Slash!!"
Luo Ci lunged from behind, six arms spinning with Iron Sand like rotating chain saws, cleaving downward. The blades struck a wisp of Kuro’s afterimage, drilling two massive holes where he’d stood.
Kuro reappeared nearby, rubbing his chin, watching the rising Iron Sand.
Shall we perform?
