Chapter 826: Kicking the Kindergarten
Chapter 826: Kicking the Kindergarten
Seeing Kuro re-extract his blade, Humphrey was startled. He raised his arm and roared, “Iron Wall!”
His pirates encircled him tightly, each crossing their arms and assuming defensive stances.
Their bodies seemed visibly tenser than before.
Interesting… It’s somewhat similar to Kas, but falls far short compared to him. However, this ability poses a threat.
Kuro lifted Autumn Water, gripping it firmly as if preparing to swing.
“Armed!!” Humphrey bellowed.
The pirates’ faces turned pale, as if weakened tenfold—yet their arms radiated Armament Haki.
This Haki, unlike yours, isn’t common. Though they burned their vitality, this remains shallow Armament Haki…
“Slash Wave!” Kuro suddenly swung forward.
A golden crescent slash, as vast as the moon, instantly turned black-gold. It surged toward the defensive formation like a blade cleaving paper.
The Iron Wall formation shattered instantly. The first row of pirates collapsed, their chests sliced open, bisected as the slash continued barreling forward.
This technique might work against lesser pirates, but no matter their numbers, they’re helpless against someone like me. However, facing a powerhouse capable of overwhelming thousands… my current Devil Fruit development is truly inadequate.
Yet Devil Fruit abilities are miracles—rules of their own. If such a force could be commanded, it would no longer be a game.
If I let him keep roaming the Grand Line, he’ll certainly become a threat. Dealing with such a man leaves no room for playfulness.
The black slash swallowed Humphrey and his men, carving a trail of bisected corpses. Its momentum remained unabated, flattening everything taller than its arc before soaring into the sky.
Kuro leisurely lit a cigar, glancing elsewhere. “Only you three remain.”
The four younger fighters were gone. Within his view, three old men staggered to their feet.
First rose Luo Ci, narrowly avoiding decapitation. His spider-like form shrank, now a humanoid with six slender arms. His face bore a compound-eye helmet from the nose upward, exuding eerie menace.
Next emerged Klah the Cyclops, disheveled. His long spear had been shredded by Kuro’s slashes, leaving only a broken shaft. Discarding it, he stood empty-handed, his gaze grim.
“You’re not Gilgamesh! That’s a fraud!!”
Meanwhile, Feglie, his chest pierced, reverted to a beastman form—a hulking, fur-covered brute with a triangular torso. Glaring sideways, his fangs bared, he snarled: “You’re Golden Lion! I remember now—you’re definitely Golden Lion! You’re a Navy dog!!”
Though imprisoned for twenty years, his former Navy instincts kept him updated. He’d gathered intelligence on Sakazuki, Lucius Kro, and the newcomer Kuzan—every notable Navy figure.
This “Golden Lion” wielded Black Blade, traveled with a white-haired brat and a bespectacled man, and mastered Shanks’ strength. That “Slash Wave” was no lie.
Once a Navy man himself, Feglie had clashed with Shanks and recognized his techniques. Most crucially, someone shouted “Kuro.”
Lucius Kro.
It’s definitely Golden Lion!
“Navy?!”
Luo Ci sneered, “Golden Lion… I’ve heard of him. Why’s he here? To eliminate us all?”
“We can discuss this later,” Klah the Cyclops interrupted, inhaling deeply. “Right now, he’s our enemy!!”
Below, the broadcast host remained oblivious to the peril, narrating with glee.
“Wow!! The battle’s more intense than expected! Four newcomers have already fallen to ‘Heavenly King’’s blade. Pity we can’t hear their final words, but the showdown must’ve been thrilling!”
Though the Transponder Snail broadcast showed only visuals, the crowd roared as this ruthless pirate—one versus seven—cut down four foes.
The spectators, mere observers without stakes in the treasure hunt, cheered all the louder.
The stronger, more famous pirates died, the better!
“You three old men sure are resilient,” Kuro exhaled smoke. This was inevitable—seasoned veterans naturally surpassed novices in skill, especially in Devil Fruit mastery.
Two Zoans survived his blows: one nearly bisected, the other pierced through the chest. Yet both clung to life tenaciously.
Luo Ci gazed at the mangled corpses, then back at Kuro. “Deal with him first. Settle our feud later.”
Inhaling sharply, he infused Armament Haki from his shoulders down to his ribs, weaving intricate patterns. His six arms extended outward, palms sharpened into clawed blades.
“Six Scythe Insect King!!” he roared.
Feglie snarled, fangs and claws gleaming with Haki as it spread to his chest. His fur bristled like needles.
Klah the Cyclops slammed his palm to the ground. Black particles rose, swirling around Luo Ci and Feglie.
“Hey! What’re you doing, Klah?!” Feglie barked.
“A bit of help,” Klah replied coldly. “Eat this—we can’t beat him alone. I ate the Magnet-Electric Devil Fruit. Here’s some iron sand—watch your footing. I’ll coordinate with you.”
The floating black particles hummed, vibrating rapidly as they climbed onto Luo Ci’s scythe-blades and Feglie’s claws and teeth.
Luo Ci flicked his blade, grinning maliciously. “Shockwaves? Impressive destructive power indeed…”
