Chapter 825: Does This Count as Bullying a Sick Elderly Widower?
Chapter 825: Does This Count as Bullying a Sick Elderly Widower?
"Does this count as bullying a sick elderly widower?" Ivan thought maliciously, but he quickly dismissed the idea the next second.
Dumbledore wasn't just any elderly widower. While the method was a bit underhanded, integrity was far less important than survival...
After formulating his strategy, Ivan's tense mind relaxed considerably. He then remembered the Memory Thread Dumbledore had given him and hesitantly retrieved the Pensieve from the Room of Requirement...
...
A few days passed in the blink of an eye, and the Christmas Holidays had arrived. The once bustling and lively castle suddenly became unusually quiet.
During this time, Ivan prepared with all his might, taking almost no breaks, aiming to integrate his newly acquired abilities into his existing combat system before the final battle.
In addition, Ivan spent one or two hours each day reviewing the Memory Threads Dumbledore had left him. Given the sheer volume, it took him several days to sort through all the information they contained.
Just as he had expected, these were all memories related to his father.
"Orlando Hals..." Ivan tossed aside the last empty glass bottle and looked at the rippling water in the Pensieve, softly uttering the man's name.
It had been five years since he had arrived in this world. Although he was essentially a visitor from another world, Ivan had always been curious about his original father's background.
However, Asia had always deliberately avoided the topic, steering clear of any discussions about him. So it wasn't until now that Ivan had a true understanding of his nominal father.
Even after reviewing these memories, Ivan still only had a partial grasp of the conflict between Asia and Dumbledore.
While Orlando Hals's death was indeed related to Dumbledore, there were extenuating circumstances. If it were just as the memories showed, Asia wouldn't have such a deep-seated hatred for the White Wizard.
It seemed he would have to return home to get to the bottom of things... Although Dumbledore hadn't tampered with the memories, he might have omitted some details...
With this thought, Ivan gently placed his hand on the Pensieve. The rippling water slowly calmed, and the images it displayed vanished without a trace.
"Perhaps I can also test my hypothesis..." After putting the Pensieve away, Ivan muttered to himself, closed his eyes, and began to sense the Phoenix Power within him.
A scorching flame quickly enveloped Ivan, surrounding him.
"Right now..."
Ivan snapped his eyes open and waved his wand. The flames around him exploded outward, and a burst of firelight soon engulfed him.
Amidst a whirl of dizziness, when the firelight dissipated, Ivan found himself outside Hogwarts Castle, in the Wizards' Market of Knockturn Alley.
Indeed, Hogwarts' Anti-Apparition Ward only targeted wizards' magic.
Ivan had just confirmed this. He had used the power of Phoenix Blood to assist him, and it had easily broken through the Protective Arrays, allowing him to successfully teleport.
This proved that the power of bloodlines was more complex than it seemed. Considering Dumbledore's warnings in previous years, Ivan speculated that the Bloodline Magic listed in the System Bar was merely the most basic form of its capabilities.
Phoenix's bloodline grants him the ability to control flames and also enhances his spatial magic. If he continues to explore this potential, he might even be able to resist the Killing Curse and achieve rebirth like Fawkes...
Unfortunately, he has to face Dumbledore in battle tomorrow. Even if the potential of fusing the bloodline is immense, he doesn't have the time to develop these abilities.
He can only wait until the battle is over and then find time to continue his experiments.
Ivan thought disappointedly as he walked towards the Safe House.
Along the way, the Aurors greeted him enthusiastically, their eyes filled with a mix of admiration, awe, and fear.
This mixed emotion was naturally due to Ivan's feats of repelling Voldemort and capturing the Ministry of Magic, and his terrifying act of publicly killing the Minister of Magic...
Ivan was well aware of their thoughts, but he believed that their perception of him would soon change. With his current strength, he no longer needed to put on a show or rely on fear to control his subordinates.
"Lord Hals, do you have any orders?" Fenrir, who was in charge of the guards, immediately brought a few Werewolf Wizards over upon sensing Ivan's magical fluctuations and asked cautiously.
"Where is my mother, Asia?" Ivan asked.
"Mrs. Hals is not in the Safe House at the moment. She has probably returned to the magic shop. Shall I send someone to inform her?" Fenrir replied.
"No, that's not necessary. I'll go myself..." Ivan nodded, not surprised.
Although they still faced the threat of Voldemort and needed the protection of the Safe House, that place was dark and cold, making it unsuitable for long-term residence.
"By the way, Pierce mentioned that the Ministry of Magic is currently cleaning up, removing high-ranking officials who had ties with the Dark Lord. Many important positions will become vacant, so work hard recently. I have high hopes for you all..." Ivan patted Fenrir's shoulder, then looked at the Werewolf Wizards, smiling.
As one of the earliest members to join his ranks, Fenrir's abilities and loyalty were clear to Ivan. He was capable of handling higher positions.
However, Knockturn Alley still required additional security, and Pierce had just stabilized the situation. To avoid causing panic, it wasn't the right time to make immediate changes to the high-ranking officials in key departments.
Ivan's words filled Fenrir and the others with excitement. After the battle at the Ministry of Magic, Dawgert, Macnair, Gryson, and others had been promoted to head positions due to their contributions, rising to prominence overnight. This made Fenrir and his group envious and even a bit jealous...
After all, in terms of merit, they were no less deserving, and they were among the earliest to join. With Ivan's reassurance, Fenrir and the others finally felt at ease.
Ivan had no intention of turning on them or treating them harshly because of their Werewolf Wizard status...
After a few more reassuring words to Fenrir, Ivan headed straight to the magic shop to meet with Asia.
Seeing Ivan return, Asia was pleasantly surprised, walking up to him with a smile and giving him a warm embrace. She playfully tapped his forehead and said, "It's so rare to see you. I thought you weren't planning to come back for Christmas this year?"
