Chapter 825: Cyborg (First Update)
Chapter 825: Cyborg (First Update)
The universe where Jerry resides is called the DC Extended Universe.
According to the history of this universe, when Earth was first born, the Greek Gods ruled the entire planet.
The chief of the gods, Zeus, later created a fair, kind, strong, and passionate life form in his own image—humans.
Zeus's son, Ares, the God of War, envied Zeus's love for humans and began inciting them to kill each other, sparking one war after another.
To restore peace to humanity, Zeus created the Amazons, a noble warrior race composed entirely of women, hoping that the Amazons could inspire humans with love.
Initially, this had some effect, but it ultimately failed, and the kind Amazons were enslaved by humans.
The Amazon Queen led her people in a rebellion, freeing all Amazons from human enslavement.
Meanwhile, on another continent of Earth, there lived a race even older than humans and Amazons—the highly advanced Atlanteans.
The first ruler of Atlantis commissioned the greatest weapon smith in history to forge the Trident from Poseidon's Iron, which was said to be imbued with the power to rule the seas.
The powerful Atlanteans sought to conquer humans, the Gods, and the Amazons to rule the entire Earth, but they were met by the even more formidable Darkseid, who led a massive army to invade this universe.
The invasion site was Earth.
To resist Darkseid and his army, humans, Atlanteans, Amazons, Zeus, Ares, and the Ancient Green Lantern, who maintained the safety of the universe, united to severely wound and drive Darkseid out of this universe.
Afterward, they divided the Mother Box Darkseid used to enter this universe into three parts, entrusting one to humans, one to the Amazons, and one to the Atlanteans for safekeeping.
Following this, the War of the Gods began, and Ares once again stirred up human conflicts, inciting wars and even personally attacking the Amazons.
Zeus led the Greek Gods to personally confront Ares, and many gods fell in battle, but Ares was ultimately driven back.
Knowing that Ares would return, Zeus used his last divine power to create Themyscira, a hidden island where the Amazons could live in isolation, safe from Ares.
Zeus also fathered a daughter with the Amazon Queen, who would become the future Wonder Woman Diana.
During the War of the Gods, the Atlanteans suffered a technological backlash while researching infinite energy, causing their entire continent to collapse and sink into the sea.
Over the long years underwater, the Atlanteans developed the ability to breathe underwater and split into seven nations: the Kingdom of Atlantis, the Kingdom of Xebel, the Fishermen Kingdom, the Lost Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Traitors, the Freshwater Kingdom, and the Trench.
Thus, the Mother Box entrusted to the Amazons is on Themyscira, the one entrusted to the Atlanteans is in the underwater Kingdom of Atlantis, and the one entrusted to humans is in the hands of Cyborg.
Now, Jerry needs to obtain the Mother Box held by humans, which is the easiest one to acquire.
In Gotham City, on a dimly lit street, Jerry dispelled his invisibility and slowly landed on the second-floor balcony of a house, knocking on the balcony door.
"Who is it?"
A very cautious voice sounded from inside the room.
Jerry politely asked:
"Is Mr. Victor Stone at home?"
"I am. Who are you, and why are you on our balcony?"
Victor did not open the door but instead demanded an answer.
Jerry's figure flashed, and he appeared directly in front of Victor in the room, then smiled.
"My name is Jerry Carmen, or you can call me Mr. Magic. Hello, Victor!"
"Mr. Magic!"
Victor recognized Jerry as the powerful Mage who had accompanied Superman to repel the Kryptonians more than half a year ago. However, he didn't show any warmth towards Jerry. Instead, he tightened the hood on his head, trying to cover the half of his face that had been mechanized to hide his unusual appearance from Jerry.
"What brings you here?"
"I want the Mother Box in your cabinet. I wonder if you would be willing to part with it. Of course, as a condition of the exchange, I can use Magic to restore your body to normal."
Jerry smiled and pointed to the wardrobe behind Victor.
He could sense that the wardrobe contained a power similar to the one inside Cyborg's body.
At the end of World War II, the Mother Box was discovered by humans and buried beneath a monastery in Italy. While it was being transported to Hitler, it was intercepted by the Allies and brought to the United States in 1944, where it was designated as Object 61982 and stored in the Pentagon's archives.
It wasn't until Superman's appearance that humans learned of the existence of Aliens. The Department of Defense then retrieved the Mother Box, hoping to obtain advanced alien technology through research. The researcher responsible for this project was Victor's father, Silas Stone.
A month ago, Victor and his mother were involved in a car accident. His mother died on the spot, and Victor was left with only a breath of life, essentially a death sentence.
To save Victor, Silas used the power of the Mother Box to transform him into a half-mechanical being. As a result, the energy within Victor's body was of the same source as that of the Mother Box.
"Can you make me a normal person again?"
When Victor heard Jerry's words, his eyes immediately changed from the cold, lifeless look to one filled with hope. He had once been a promising football player, but now he was a mechanical monster with only half a face and part of his upper body mechanized.
He could no longer attend school, see his friends, eat, sleep, pursue his dreams, or even experience love, family, or children. He felt that his life had lost all meaning, even though his body possessed great power, allowing him to control the internet and instantly increase the balance in his bank account.
"Magic, nothing is impossible!"
Jerry nodded firmly.
Hearing this, Victor turned around, took the Mother Box from the cabinet, and handed it to Jerry.
"If you can make me a normal person again, you can have this."
"Deal!"
Jerry reached out and tapped Victor's forehead, instantly extracting his soul from his body. He then plucked a strand of hair and quickly reshaped a normal human body for him. Finally, he merged Victor's soul with the new body.
"Alright, it was a pleasure working with you. I'll be on my way!"
Storing the Mother Box and Victor's mechanized body in the Bell Universe, Jerry waved at the astonished Victor, who was staring at his new body, and then disappeared with a Phantom Shift.
After Jerry left, Victor's eyes filled with tears:
"Thank you!"
