Chapter 824: So Handsome, So Terrifying
Chapter 824: So Handsome, So Terrifying
What a muscular beast of a dog!
Seeing the massive hound lunging toward him, Kuro gave it a quick once-over and nodded slightly.
Though its legs were a bit short.
His Autumn Water blade tilted upward, slicing straight into the dog-beast's chest as it dove down with wide-open jaws.
At that moment, Feglie's eyes gleamed with a flicker of sharpness.
This was exactly what he'd been waiting for!
The Bully Hound form had a special trait—the claws and fangs were formidable enough, but its true strength lay in its exceptional build, raw power, and sheer weight. By riding through this attack, he could use his Haki to withstand the opponent's blade, overpower him, then counterattack with Haki-infused claws and teeth. As long as he could pin him down, his Haki would hold firm!
Hiss!
The black blade pierced deep into the beast's chest, sinking halfway until it emerged from its back.
"Ugh!"
The dog-beast spat a spray of blood, but Kuro tilted his head aside, dodging the crimson arc. He grimaced, "Don't go spitting everywhere. It's disgusting."
The Black Blade cut through like butter, allowing Feglie's beastly form to slide smoothly forward until the hilt pressed against him.
Bang!
Kuro kicked off with a snap of his boot, slamming his foot into Feglie's face. Using the momentum, he yanked Autumn Water free and sent the beast tumbling backward.
"Your turn."
With a flick of Autumn Water, Kuro carved a half-circle through the air, bringing the blade down toward Mcauley Warner's head.
Boom!
A deafening roar erupted from the side—Taut Luo Ke, the "Living Ghost", charged forward like a rampaging ox.
Kuro's eyes narrowed in irritation. Twirling the blade, he swept sideways. But Taut Luo Ke, as if sensing something, suddenly leaped upward, narrowly avoiding the slash.
"Rage Tide!"
As the hulking brute soared skyward, Austin emerged from his hiding spot behind him. Crouching low like a panther, he surged forward, twin blades spinning with vortex-like whirlpools of energy.
"Strike!"
Darting in, Austin thrust both blades toward Kuro.
"Red Comet!"
At the same time, Taut Luo Ke's massive frame plummeted from above, twisting mid-air to dive headfirst at Kuro.
Caught between two attacks—how would he dodge?
Kuro's lips curled into a faint smile. As Austin's twin blades and Taut Luo Ke's aerial assault converged, a flicker of light flashed around him, and just like that, he vanished from sight. Austin's blades stabbed only empty air, slicing through Kuro's afterimage.
A streak of Black Light erupted. Austin's scalp prickled, and he hurriedly raised the twin blades to defend—but too late. The Black Light swept across the rising blades and glided smoothly along his neck.
As the blade passed, Kuro twisted his wrist. The Black Blade rose sharply, its tip aiming straight at Taut Luo Ke's descending head.
"Haki, huh?"
Kuro glanced at Taut Luo Ke's forehead, now glowing with white energy, before Autumn Water's tip lightly grazed the spot.
Pft!
Contact! The blade punctured the exact center of Taut Luo Ke's forehead, drawing a bead of blood.
Thud!
Taut Luo Ke's pupils constricted. His body dropped heavily, both feet slamming into the ground. Using the recoil, he arched backward, throwing off Kuro's blade and narrowly avoiding the strike.
In that instant, cold sweat streamed down his face.
As a demon-bloodline warrior, he possessed unmatched strength and an ironclad physique. What was a demon-kin? A descendant of ancient giants, like the legendary Oz. Though a half-breed, his physical prowess remained formidable—and he wielded Haki!
That headbutt had been fully charged, his utmost strength. If it had connected, even a nearby man's skull would've been pierced like a melon.
"Hey, Austin, attack already!"
Shoving the blade aside, Taut Luo Ke barked at the still-standing Austin.
Austin stood motionless, twin blades in hand. As Taut Luo Ke spoke, his grip loosened, and the weapons clattered to the ground. His expression slackened.
The blood line on his neck gradually warped, like mismatched pieces forced together. His head tilted down, then—splut!—rolled cleanly from his neck.
His head had come clean off!
"He can't hear you anymore."
Before Taut Luo Ke could even register shock, Kuro's voice whispered in his ear.
Instinctively, Taut Luo Ke coated his head in Armament Haki, then undignifiedly rolled backward.
Hiss!
With immense force, his body seemed to fling itself backward, tumbling across the earth without rising. His hand flew to his neck.
His Haki had shattered. A deep gash now marred his throat, blood seeping through his fingers.
"You—"
Pew! Pew! Pew!
Before he could finish, dark specks rained from the sky, erupting across Taut Luo Ke's massive frame. Smoke and dust exploded outward.
When the haze cleared, Taut Luo Ke lay bloodied on the ground. His forehead skewered by a colossal sword, his neck, chest, abdomen, hands, and feet all pinned down by massive blades.
All of this had unfolded in the span of a single electric spark.
Without a glance, Kuro turned and slashed toward Mcauley Warner.
"Mimicry!"
Clang!
A metallic object blocked Kuro's strike.
Raising a brow, Kuro finally looked—Mcauley Warner had grabbed one of Austin's fallen blades, perfectly parrying Autumn Water.
More strangely, a shadowy form now flickered around him. Black and indistinct, it bore traces of Haki and laziness, yet exuded an unmistakable, tenfold handsomeness. Wisps of a hooded cloak seemed to flutter within it.
"Oh-ho, you can mimic living people too?"
Kuro puckered his lips, eyeing the ornate black shadow clinging to Mcauley Warner. "Such a handsome fellow—just who is he? So terrifying!"
"Wait, really?" Lida, watching from the wreckage, turned with wide eyes.
"Could it be..." Klah pushed his glasses up, trembling hands betraying his urge to rush forward and fight the man.
More than anything—he'd longed for this fight even more than his battle against Sazil.
Mcauley Warner shoved Autumn Water aside, then leapt forward, sheathing his blade at his waist.
Snick!
A line of blade-light shot forth, carrying Mcauley Warner's body with it as a straight, lightning-fast dash toward Kuro.
"One Line Sky!"
It was Kuro's own technique!
