Chapter 824: Searching for the Mother Box (Second Update)
Chapter 824: Searching for the Mother Box (Second Update)
"No wonder!"
After listening to Superman's explanation, Jerry finally understood why Superman became Clark when he put on glasses and Superman when he took them off. And such an obvious disguise had gone completely unnoticed by everyone.
Even if some people had face blindness, it was impossible for the entire human population on Earth to have it. Moreover, Superman's physique and appearance were so distinctive that it made no sense for no one to recognize him just because of a pair of glasses.
It all came down to the more advanced technology from Krypton.
Jerry tried to lower his five senses to the human level and looked at Clark again.
Sure enough, Clark's appearance and demeanor had changed significantly.
First, his height was at least half a head shorter. Second, his face appeared much older, and he was hunched over, giving the impression of a meek and cautious old man.
"What do you mean, 'no wonder'?"
Clark's hearing was incredibly sharp, and upon hearing Jerry's muttering, he immediately became curious.
However, Jerry didn't intend to elaborate and instead smiled.
"Nothing, Zod and the others have already transformed Krypton in my universe. Now we need the codex from your cells."
"No problem, let's go now!"
Hearing Jerry mention Zod and the transformation of Krypton, Clark's excitement grew.
In fact, the moment he saw Jerry, he had wanted to ask about Zod's situation, but he had put it aside to save lives.
While he agreed with his father's view that Krypton's development was flawed, he wasn't so fixated that he believed Krypton's civilization should be destroyed.
Krypton was, after all, his true home. If Zod could rebuild it without harming other lives, he really wanted to see what Krypton would look like.
"Alright."
Jerry didn't waste any time and immediately took Clark into the Bell Universe, bringing him before General Zod and the others.
"Is this Krypton?"
Through the glass of the warship, Clark looked at the transformed planet, his face showing a mix of complex emotions.
General Zod, standing beside him, replied with a somewhat distant look in his eyes.
"The environment has only been transformed so far. Once we replicate the codex from your cells and incubate our various talents, this planet will truly become Krypton.
As the most advanced civilization in the universe, no planet is as advanced and beautiful as our Krypton!"
"Clark, please follow me!"
At that moment, the bald Kryptonian scientist was called over by Fiola and led Clark toward the warship's laboratory.
To replicate all the Kryptonian genes without affecting Clark's body, they would need to use some of Krypton's unique scientific technologies.
Only the bald scientist and the equipment on the warship could accomplish this.
The Kryptonian gene codex was the most perfect and complete genetic database, refined over countless years. Once replicated and input into the appropriate incubation machines, it could produce the necessary talents as needed.
After replicating the gene codex from Clark's cells, Jerry sent him back to Earth.
Next, under the operation of the bald Kryptonian scientist, they used the warship's incubation machines to select and incubate the required talents from the codex.
"Mr. Carmen, since we have found and recovered only a few incubation machines, my suggestion is that if we don't need to engage in combat in the short term, we should prioritize incubating talents with technological and scientific skills.
This is the fastest way to rebuild our civilization and produce more incubation machines.
The bald scientist stood in front of a row of over twenty incubation pods and made the suggestion.
Due to Krypton's destruction, almost all Kryptonian machines had vanished. The ones on their warship were only made possible by scavenging materials from all the former Kryptonian exploration outposts.
Jerry thought for a moment and shook his head:
"There's no need for that. I'll take care of the incubation pods, and you don't need to worry about the materials for rebuilding Krypton. I want you to incubate all one billion genetic templates in the codex at once."
Incubation pods are just a matter of using the transformation spell or the replication spell to solve the issue.
Kryptonians also need time to grow. The first ones to hatch will be infants. Although they will have the knowledge corresponding to their professions in their minds from birth, they still need to grow up and gradually understand and digest it.
It's not like they will be fully grown and ready to work right after hatching.
If things proceed normally, even after a few hundred years, it might not be possible to restore Kryptonian civilization to its peak.
But now, by incubating one billion Kryptonians at once, as long as Zod and the others can raise these one billion strong Kryptonian infants, they can quickly rebuild Kryptonian civilization.
Later, once his power is restored a bit more, he can adjust the time laws of the Bell Universe, which will speed things up even more.
Half a month later, at the temporary Kryptonian incubation base in the Bell Universe.
"Alright, I'll leave it to you. If you have any problems, you can contact me through the magic mirror."
Jerry set up all one billion incubation pods and worked with the bald scientist to create the necessary supplies. Then, he said goodbye to Zod and temporarily left the Bell Universe.
Rebuilding Kryptonian civilization could be left to Zod and the others. Jerry still needed to focus on increasing his power, ideally breaking through to the Single Universe level.
On the streets of Metropolis, Jerry used the owl to locate Magic and silently spoke a name in his mind:
"Victor Stone!"
Indeed, the person Jerry was looking for was none other than Cyborg, the superhero influenced by the Mother Box in the Justice League.
He wasn't looking for Cyborg to form a Justice League like Batman did in the movies to counter Steppenwolf. A mere Steppenwolf was not a concern for him.
He wanted to find Cyborg primarily to determine the location of the human Mother Box.
Steppenwolf came to Earth because Superman Clark's death caused the dormant Mother Box to awaken.
But now, Superman definitely wouldn't die. The one who killed Superman was Doomsday, which was created by Luthor using Kryptonian technology and Zod's body.
With Zod and the Kryptonian warship in Jerry's Bell Universe, Doomsday couldn't possibly be created to kill Superman.
So, to make Steppenwolf bring his forces to Earth and earn a large number of red stars, and to later go to Apokolips to kill Darkseid, he needed the Mother Box.
Moreover, he wanted to study the power of the Mother Box to enrich his knowledge system.
There are three Mother Boxes in total, each guarded by the Amazons, the Atlanteans, and humans.
If he remembered correctly, the human Mother Box should now be in the hands of Cyborg, Victor Stone.
