Chapter 823: Superman's Glasses (Second Update)
Chapter 823: Superman's Glasses (Second Update)
"This is kryptonite? Quite interesting!"
After the planet remodeling was completed, Jerry teleported out of the warship and appeared at the location of the cosmic engine, which worked in conjunction with the phantom emitter. He picked up two palm-sized pieces of kryptonite and began to analyze them with the magic patterns in his eyes.
Kryptonite can weaken a Kryptonian's powerful body to the point where it becomes even more frail than a human's. He wanted to understand the underlying principle.
In Jerry's view, everything has its roots and principles. As a mage aspiring to become a supreme being, he not only needed to analyze magic but also explore any unknown elements.
The more he knew and understood, the stronger his universe and world could become.
Temporarily putting the kryptonite away, Jerry ordered the warship to land on the newly remodeled planet. He said goodbye to Zod and then left the Bell Universe.
With Krypton now fully remodeled, it was time to find Clark and extract the Kryptonian gene compendium.
"Oh, God, who are you? Why are you in my room? How did you get in here?"
In the hotel room, Jerry looked at the blonde beauty screaming naked and helplessly cast an oblivion spell, then vanished with a phantom shift.
He almost forgot that the time he spent creating the planet in the Bell Universe was so long that his hotel room reservation had expired.
The room he was staying in was now occupied by someone else.
Sometimes, when he was deeply engrossed in important matters and multitasking, trivial matters like this were easily overlooked.
These things were really too insignificant to him. Even when problems arose, a single oblivion spell could easily resolve them.
After leaving the hotel room with a phantom shift, Jerry quickly appeared near Clark using the magic mark he had left on him earlier.
"Clark, it's been a while."
Over a stretch of sea, Clark, wearing his Superman suit, was carrying a half-destroyed airplane and slowly flying it toward the land.
"Jerry, it's been a while. Give me a moment; I need to get these people to safety first."
Clark's face lit up with surprise when he saw Jerry appear.
Since Jerry's last departure, he hadn't seen Jerry for half a year.
"I'll lend a hand."
Jerry looked at the half-destroyed airplane and the passengers clinging tightly to their seats, terrified of falling out. With a wave of his hand, he cast a repair spell.
"Restore."
A blue beam of magic struck the airplane Superman was holding, and the damaged plane began to visibly repair itself.
"Magic is truly amazing!"
Clark watched the plane gradually return to its original state, unable to suppress his inner amazement.
He could punch the entire plane to pieces or carry it while flying, but he could never restore a plane that was half-destroyed to its original condition like Jerry did.
It was understandable, though. After all, Jerry, this powerful mage who could create his own universe, making a plane whole again wasn't such a far-fetched idea.
"With this, I can go faster!"
Now that the plane was repaired, Clark didn't have to worry about flying too fast and causing the passengers to fall out. He accelerated and swiftly carried the plane to the shore.
Jerry flapped the twelve pairs of wings on his back with great force, keeping up with Superman's speed without slowing down.
After regaining peak Celestial-level power, even without using a Phantom Shift, his flying speed was not much slower than Superman's.
"Superman, what does the S on your chest mean?"
"It represents hope on our planet. It's like a river, winding and flowing, coming and going. Hope is like a car key; you can easily lose it but also easily find it."
"Superman, what are those red beams that shoot from your eyes?"
"Those are high-temperature beams. I call them heat vision."
"Superman, what's your fastest flying speed?"
"It's very fast, but I haven't specifically measured it."
"Superman, do you like our Earth?"
When Clark and Jerry safely landed the plane on the shore, they were immediately surrounded by enthusiastic crowds and reporters, bombarding them with questions.
However, unlike Clark, who patiently answered all the questions, Jerry was not as cooperative.
"Mr. Magic, why haven't you appeared since the last incident?"
"Busy."
"Specifically, what are you busy with? Superman often helps humans, but you, as an Earthling, rarely do so."
"None of your business."
"I heard you're a Magic user. Can you make a rabbit appear?"
"I can turn people into maggots. Would you like to try?"
"Mr. Magic, with such an attitude, aren't you worried that people won't like you?"
"Pfft!"
Jerry rolled his eyes and walked toward Clark, pushing all the reporters out of the way with an invisible force.
"Come on, I need to talk to you."
Approaching Clark, Jerry took him with a Phantom Shift, disappearing from the crowd of reporters.
"Isn't Mr. Magic so cool? The way he talks is so unique!"
After Jerry and Clark left, the young men and women who had been watching from the periphery began to discuss excitedly.
A superhero like Superman, with a gentle and kind personality, would naturally be liked by most people. However, someone like Jerry would also have many fans, especially among young men and women.
Powerful, mysterious, and cool—such superheroes are most likely to be idolized by the young.
However, Jerry didn't care whether humans liked him or not, as it was of no use to him.
"Actually, most of them don't have any ill intentions. They just do it out of professional necessity."
In a nearby café by the beach, Clark, now dressed in normal reporter clothes and wearing glasses, explained to Jerry.
After the Zod incident, he had started working at the Planet Daily, where Lois works. Having been a reporter for half a year, he had a lot of empathy for them.
So, every time he saved someone and was interviewed, he would try to answer all the questions.
"I don't have any ill intentions toward them; I just don't want to waste time on those trivial questions."
Jerry shrugged and then examined the glasses Superman was wearing.
"Those glasses don't seem like ordinary glasses, do they?"
"Oh, these are glasses I found in the Kryptonian spacecraft. They emit a magnetic field that makes humans perceive my appearance differently and affect cameras and recording devices. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to work at the Planet Daily."
Clark adjusted his glasses as he replied.
