Chapter 823: Phoenix Blood Fusion
Chapter 823: Phoenix Blood Fusion
On a morning of rest, inside the Room of Requirement, Ivan solemnly opened the glass bottle and poured the crimson blood into the cauldron filled with potion.
In the next moment, the two liquids merged, triggering a wondrous magical reaction. It seemed as if the mixture was boiling at a high temperature, constantly bubbling and surging. This went on for several minutes before finally settling down.
By then, the potion in the cauldron had transformed from its original murky state into a brilliant golden-red.
Without much hesitation, Ivan immediately poured the potion into a bottle and drank it in one go.
The golden-red liquid flowed down his throat, tasting quite peculiar. However, before Ivan could savor it, he felt a warm current rising from his stomach, gradually spreading throughout his body. It was as if he had stripped off his clothes and stood in a sauna, feeling warm and cozy all over.
Ivan realized for the first time that fusing a bloodline might not be a painful process; it could even be an enjoyable one.
However, this thought was quickly extinguished.
Ivan soon discovered that his body had become a blazing furnace, continuously radiating heat, and the temperature kept rising. Within seconds, it reached a point where even Ivan found it unbearable.
His skin and internal organs felt as if they were being cooked by a fierce fire, and he could faintly hear the low, mournful cries of a Phoenix.
【Activate Protection Mode!】
Ivan didn't continue to endure; instead, he decisively recited the command in his mind. The nearly rebellious magic gradually calmed down.
With his previous experience in fusing bloodlines, Ivan had become adept at maintaining the balance of his powers. The four activated bloodlines were quickly suppressed before they could fully erupt.
However, once the balance was lost, the Phoenix power grew increasingly erratic, rampaging through his body and eventually converging into his heart!
Thanks to the enhanced perception granted by Protection Mode, Ivan clearly "saw" tendrils of golden-red flame emerging from the trembling surface of his heart. The wisps of flame, as if nourished by an abundant source, rapidly swelled and formed a large fireball that engulfed his beating heart.
My heart is on fire?
A preposterous thought flashed through Ivan's mind, but he soon realized the situation was far worse than he had imagined!
After consuming his heart, the golden-red flames spread through his veins, and within moments, Ivan's body was transformed into a blazing torch.
This internal transformation left Ivan somewhat disoriented. According to his perception, his body was slowly disappearing, gradually becoming the fuel for the flames.
If this continued, it wouldn't be long before he vanished from the world entirely!
Ivan tried his utmost to stop it but found himself powerless. He couldn't freely control this first-year's power; he could only suppress it or extinguish it entirely. However, doing so would mean the failure of the Bloodline Fusion!
Thinking of the Legendary Points he had painstakingly accumulated, Ivan gritted his teeth and decided to take a gamble. He would do nothing and let the flames consume his body completely.
After all, fire is the cradle of the Phoenix. He had once witnessed Fawkes reborn from the flames—death sometimes does not mean the end but a new beginning!
With this in mind, Ivan instantly abandoned his resistance, closed his eyes, and calmly felt the scorching flames licking his body, starting with his internal organs, then his limbs, followed by his torso, and finally, his head, which hung suspended in mid-air, vanished without a trace.
Throughout the process, Ivan felt no pain. The only thing that struck him as odd was that his brain was gone, yet he could still think normally. He could even "see" the surroundings through the Magic that was seeping out, though his perspective was fragmented into many parts, and the spot where he had been standing was now just a cloud of flame.
Ivan tried to do something in this strange state. As soon as the thought crossed his mind, the flame darted towards the wall, exploding in a burst of fire.
Ivan immediately felt his "body" disintegrate into many pieces, but he wasn't panicked. With a mental command, the scattered flame reassembled itself.
"Have I become a flame?" Ivan thought to himself, amazed by the magic's power. He controlled the flame as easily as he had once controlled his body.
After a brief adjustment, Ivan quickly became engrossed in this wondrous state, experimenting with his new abilities. He targeted the furniture in the room, using Magic to generate more flame and wreaking havoc without restraint.
【Protection Mode has ended…】
Just as Ivan was enjoying the chaos, the System's notification sounded.
In the next second, Ivan noticed a significant drop in his control over the flame, and there were even signs of it going out of control.
This made Ivan anxious, and he quickly abandoned his experiments, focusing on finding a way to return to his original form.
After a minute or so of trial and error, the flame in the Room of Requirement slowly gathered together.
"Truly a remarkable ability", Ivan's form emerged from the fire. He looked at his hands and his undamaged robes, muttering to himself.
After confirming that he had all his limbs and his clothes were intact, Ivan hurriedly opened the System Bar to check the changes after fusing the bloodline.

"Flame Control?" Ivan raised an eyebrow as he looked at the new Bloodline Magic. He had experimented with the new power, and it was far more than just controlling flame; it was almost as if he had become flame itself!
Ivan had always envied Voldemort's ability to transform into mist. It was not only convenient but also extremely useful for restraining enemies, escaping, and self-preservation.
It could be said that the Dark Lord was so difficult to defeat, aside from his seven Horcruxes, because he mastered this unique Bloodline Magic, which made him immune to most attacks.
Now, Ivan had finally obtained a similar ability. Although it might be slightly inferior in terms of stealth and restraint, the destructive power of flame far exceeded that of Dark Fog.
