Chapter 822: Creating a Planet (Part 1)
Chapter 822: Creating a Planet (Part 1)
"My Magic prophecy foretells that Darkseid will lead a massive invasion of Earth soon. I will need your help to fight them when the time comes.
Rest assured, apart from this, I will not interfere with your civilization’s development."
Jerry briefly explained the situation with Darkseid's impending invasion of Earth.
Zod thought for a moment and finally nodded seriously.
"If that's the case, I accept your conditions!"
In truth, Zod understood that they were like fish on a chopping board, and agreeing was their only way out. Otherwise, they would face certain death. As long as the Kryptonian civilization could be rebuilt, they, the powerful Kryptonian warriors, would not fear any war, not even Darkseid's army.
"Very well, then let's get started. I think this spot is perfect. How about we place your planet here?"
Seeing Zod's nod, Jerry wasted no more time.
Zod's guess was correct—agreeing was his only option. However, even if Zod had refused, Jerry wouldn't have killed them. Having restored to the peak of New God status and operating within the Chime Universe he created, Jerry could effortlessly crush Zod and his group without any harm. He could then use Magic to forcefully enslave them as puppets.
He hadn't done this from the start simply because he still had his own moral boundaries. No one wanted to cross those lines unless absolutely necessary. Besides, he also had absolute control over Zod and his people, and he was confident in that.
Once Zod began transforming the planet he created, Kryptonite would inevitably be produced. With a sample of Kryptonite, Jerry could use the Transformation Spell to create countless more. If Zod and the Kryptonians ever betrayed him, he could simply gift them a planet made entirely of Kryptonite to show them the consequences of betrayal.
He had also considered studying the Kryptonian genome and creating them himself within the Chime Universe. However, while he had just recovered to the peak of New God status, creating ordinary humans was manageable, but creating powerful beings like Kryptonians, and in large numbers, was a far more complex task.
Secondly, he had other concerns. Kryptonians were one of the most powerful races in the DC Universe, a symbolic race. Helping to rebuild the Kryptonian civilization was fine, but mass-producing them might draw the attention of the true powers in this world.
To be safe, he decided it was best not to create them, or if he did, not within the DC Universe. He could have the main soul create them in the Marvel Universe instead.
"Start now? Here?"
Zod's face showed surprise at Jerry's words.
For two months, although he couldn't control the entire warship's movement, he had sent many warriors to explore outside. All they found was darkness and nothingness. They had no valuable information.
Their current situation was like being trapped in a newly born universe with nothing in it. To leave, they would need the warship's Spatial jump capability to cooperate.
So he didn't understand what Jerry meant by starting here. Without a planet, how could they begin?
"Oh, I forgot to tell you. The universe you are in now is one I created. It just doesn't have many planets or life yet.
If you think this spot is good, I can create a suitable planet here for you and then use the Phantom Emitter to transform it. If you find it unsuitable, we can choose another location. It's all pretty much the same."
Jerry saw the puzzled look on Zod's face and explained the situation in broad strokes.
Upon hearing this explosive information, Zod and the nearby Phiora were both left in a state of shock.
Create a universe? Create a planet? Is this something an individual can actually do?
Who is this man in front of them? Is he even human, or is this just a joke?
"Never mind, let's just start here. It's all the same anyway."
Seeing that Zod was still in a daze, Jerry didn't wait for a response. He instantly teleported outside the warship and began creating the planet.
With his peak New God strength, creating a complete planet still took a considerable amount of time. He needed to get it done quickly to rebuild the Kryptonian civilization and move on to the next phase of his plan.
Zod and Phiora, who had initially doubted Jerry's words, watched in awe as a planet's nascent form slowly took shape outside under Jerry's control. As it gradually grew larger, their eyes reflected both shock and a hint of fear.
Perhaps Jerry's true power was even greater than what had been shown, and what they had seen was just the tip of the iceberg.
Their initial plans to counter Jerry later gradually dissipated. They realized that even if the Kryptonian civilization were to return to its peak, it might not be able to contend with a being capable of creating universes and planets.
Four months passed in the blink of an eye.
By now, Jerry's Chime Universe had gained a planet, a sun, and a few small planets orbiting the sun, resembling a solar system.
"Let's begin!"
Jerry stood in the command hall of the Kryptonian warship and issued the order.
"Yes, Master!"
The Kryptonian warship, floating above the planet, immediately activated its Phantom Emitter, releasing a powerful energy beam that connected with the instruments on the opposite side of the planet. This began the transformation of the planet's magnetic field and gravity.
Standing behind Jerry, Zod and the other Kryptonians watched the planet gradually take on the appearance of their homeland, their eyes welling up with tears.
Though Kryptonians were created from life incubators according to genetic templates, they experienced emotions just like any other living beings.
However, they were born with talents that matched their responsibilities, so they had to work in their designated roles.
For example, if a doctor on Krypton died, the life incubator would create a new Kryptonian with the same medical talent to replace the deceased doctor. This new Kryptonian would have the same talents as the deceased one because they were created from the same genetic template, making it the optimal solution for society.
However, this new Kryptonian might develop new interests in the future. Perhaps they didn't want to be a doctor and instead dreamed of becoming a police officer, singer, or writer.
But in Kryptonian society, if you were born a doctor, you had to be a doctor for life.
This led to two prevailing viewpoints among the Kryptonians. One, like Zod, fully embraced their societal model. The other, like Clark's father, believed that Kryptonian civilization had gone astray.
In the end, Clark's father's faction gained the upper hand, and Zod was suppressed and imprisoned in the Phantom Zone, leading to Krypton's destruction.
Now, with the Kryptonian civilization being rebuilt, everything Zod and his followers knew and recognized was returning to them.
