Chapter 820: Martian (First Update)
Chapter 820: Martian (First Update)
"Jerry, the power of that Magic is insane!"
Clark landed beside Jerry, looking at the massive crater that could turn into a lake with just a bit of water, and the nearly unconscious Zod and others at the bottom of the pit. His face showed a look of disbelief.
He thought he was already unbeatable, but the power of the Magic Jerry just released was frighteningly strong.
He believed that if that Magic had hit Metropolis, the entire city would have been completely erased.
"This Magic requires preparation and charging. If you hadn't held them off for so long, I wouldn't have been able to unleash such a powerful effect."
Jerry smiled and explained, then pointed at Zod and the others in the pit, using a levitation spell to slowly bring them out.
"Magic is truly amazing."
Clark couldn't help but exclaim.
Reaching out to open a Spatial Gate leading to the inside of the warship, Jerry brought Clark, Fiore, and the heavily injured Zod and others into the command hall.
"You should have seen what just happened clearly. I have the complete ability to kill you, so don't resist pointlessly.
Take your general for treatment. When he wakes up, tell him that the conditions I mentioned earlier still stand. I can help the Kryptonians find a planet that can be terraformed.
Just wait for my news on the warship."
Facing the wary Kryptonian scientists and pilots, Jerry left Zod and the others, lifted the Soul Control Spell from Fiore, and teleported with Clark outside the warship.
"Alright, no more chatting. You're quite a talent."
Seeing the Kryptonian warship still hovering on the Magic Shield and chatting with the human woman inside, Jerry shook his head and threw the entire ship into his Bell Universe.
Although the Bell Universe still couldn't compare to the Ring Universe, it had expanded significantly in space, though it remained relatively empty.
After Jerry dealt with the Kryptonian warship and dismantled the Magic Array protecting all of Metropolis, General Swanwick arrived in a military jeep.
"I represent humanity to thank both of you for your help, ensuring that our citizens were not harmed in this crisis!"
"General, I only hope that after this, you won't investigate my identity or disturb my life. I won't be controlled by you, and you won't be able to control me."
Clark replied seriously.
General Swanwick paused for a moment:
"The obvious question is, how do we know you won't become our enemy in the future?"
"General, I grew up in Kansas. I am like you. I came here to help you, but I have my own principles. You have to believe this."
Clark expressed his views.
The general, however, shook his head helplessly:
"Even if I believe you, the higher-ups may not."
"Perhaps, you just need to believe me. Regardless of whether they believe me or not, I will still act according to my own will."
Clark thought for a moment and finally smiled.
His meaning was clear: even if the higher-ups didn't trust him, they couldn't do anything about it. Earth's weapons couldn't harm him at all.
"Guy, he really has Oscar-worthy acting skills."
Jerry, standing nearby, silently marveled at General Swanwick.
If he hadn't known in advance that Clark was the Martian Manhunter, he wouldn't have noticed any flaws.
The Martian Manhunter was originally a Martian from a planet where bio-genetics had advanced to an extraordinary level. Due to an accident, he came to Earth and eventually settled there.
The Martian Manhunter possesses a body that rivals that of a Kryptonian, with the ability to alter his own genes. This not only makes his physical combat prowess formidable but also grants him numerous abilities such as invisibility, transformation, telepathy, and intangibility.
In particular, his regenerative abilities are remarkable; even if his head is severed, he can regrow it.
However, he has a fatal weakness: pyrophobia, a fear of fire, especially fire caused by emotions. This fear brings back the painful memories of his wife and daughter being burned alive, causing his body to go into a state of disarray.
During these moments, the Martian Manhunter becomes vulnerable and can be easily killed.
"So, what about you, magician, or should I say, Magic master?"
After hearing Clark's response, General Swanwick turned his gaze to Jerry beside him.
Jerry shrugged:
"I'm an Earthling, and I haven't broken any laws. If you monitor me, it would be a violation of my freedom. I'll hire a lawyer and sue you.
Of course, if I lose the case, who knows, maybe one day a white light will fall on Washington, and the White House will be gone."
General Swanwick's eyebrows shot up. Was this a blatant threat?
Worse yet, he couldn't afford to provoke the Magic master too much. This one was clearly more unpredictable than the Kryptonian, and might actually act on a bad mood.
"Alright, I'll report your demands to my superiors. I also believe you are good people."
"Goodbye, Martian!"
Jerry and Clark performed a Phantom Shift, vanishing from the spot, leaving General Swanwick with his eyes wide in shock.
He quickly turned to look at the young female aide behind him, relieved to see her lost in admiration and unaware of Jerry's mention of "Martian."
"They're both so handsome, it's so hard to choose!"
"Move it!"
General Swanwick gruffly awoke the aide from her reverie.
"What are your plans now?"
At the Kent Farm in Smallville, Jerry sipped the coffee Mrs. Kent had brewed, asking Clark, who had changed back into his regular clothes.
Clark smiled mysteriously as he watched Lois help Mrs. Kent water the flowers:
"I need a low-profile job, one that won't raise suspicions when I need to leave to save someone or investigate things."
"Ah, I see, you might even find love on the side. Not bad at all!"
Jerry knew without a doubt that Clark was referring to becoming a reporter at the Daily Planet with Lois.
"Cough, right, where did you send General Zod and the others? And can you really help them find a new planet?"
Caught off guard by Jerry's insight, Clark quickly changed the subject.
However, he was genuinely curious, especially since the day Jerry had placed his hand on the Kryptonian warship, causing it and General Zod to vanish.
Jerry nodded confidently:
"I sent them to another universe, a newly formed one. As for a new planet, I'll create one for them. It will take some time, but you'll see."
This time, by preventing the Kryptonians from destroying Earth, he had accumulated a massive amount of red stars. Once he converted these red stars into magic power, his strength would be restored to its peak at the level of a Celestial Father.
At that point, creating a planet and a corresponding sun within the Bell Universe would be within his capabilities.
