Chapter 819: Eternal Tong Sheng
Chapter 819: Eternal Tong Sheng
Disaster!
Ever since the Great Grandmaster spoke those words to An Zizai, An Zizai's gaze on the disciples had become scrutinizing.
He realized that he had paid too little attention to the Wu Shi Disciples in the past. Although the Great Grandmaster said that not all disciples in Nothingness could be good, he refused to believe it.
He decided to thoroughly vet them, convinced that no rogue elements could have slipped through the cracks in Nothingness.
If any disciples went astray, he would correct them in time.
Following the Great Grandmaster's cultivation path was his goal, but keeping the Great Grandmaster in Nothingness was even better. He had a deep affection for the Wu Shi Dao Field, having invested much of his effort and energy into making Nothingness what it was today.
In the days that followed, more and more disciples noticed that An Zizai had become more stringent. He even set numerous barriers for taking new disciples, causing much private speculation among them, wondering what had triggered such a change.
The news also reached the Second Generation Disciples. An Zizai wouldn't mention the Great Grandmaster's words to the lower ranks, but he didn't hide it from his elders.
Upon hearing that a great disaster would arise in Nothingness, the Second Generation Disciples became serious. They knew Gu An wouldn't speak lightly, and his eyes could see the future. This made them more attentive to their lineages.
No one wanted the disaster to come from their own disciples.
Unbeknownst to the myriad worlds, the Heavenly Court was plunged into a fierce battle.
Li Xuemiao, dressed in a golden-embroidered white robe, wielded a divine weapon and soared through the clouds. All around were the figures of Xianshen, their gazes fixed on the horizon where an intense darkness loomed like a gaping abyss, threatening to devour the Heavenly Court. Endless demons emerged from the darkness, clashing with the Xianshen in a vast and boundless battlefield.
Countless Yun Stars streaked across the sky, attacking the battlefield above the cloud sea. Various manifestations of divine power and enormous treasures stirred the battlefield's atmosphere.
Li Xuemiao looked far ahead, recalling the powerful demons he encountered while rescuing Li Ya. The evil was the same.
It seemed that the Dark Celestial Court had already begun its invasion during the Emperor's Contention.
Li Xuemiao frowned, sensing a powerful and overwhelming aura from within the darkness. He had never felt such a suffocating presence, one that made him worry about the safety of the Heavenly Court.
He hadn't yet climbed to a high position or changed the hearts of the Xianshen. He couldn't let the Heavenly Court fall prematurely.
Coming from the mortal world, Li Xuemiao didn't believe the Heavenly Court was invincible. He had seen too many ruling powers fall. To him, no matter how the Xianshen embellished it, the Heavenly Court was just a stronger force compared to the Holy Court.
He took a deep breath, cleared his mind of distractions, and plunged into the battle ahead.
As he flew, he clearly felt himself pass through an invisible barrier. The battlefield suddenly expanded, and deafening explosions echoed from all directions.
Boom!
A terrifying giant fist appeared beside him, causing his pupils to constrict. He instinctively raised his divine weapon to block, but was still sent flying.
While flying backward, he gritted his teeth and saw that black holes were appearing on the battlefield. The giant fist had emerged from one of these black holes, struck him, and then retreated, causing the black hole to vanish.
Red veins immediately appeared on his forehead, and his aura surged. He gripped his divine weapon with both hands, twisted his waist, and swung it, the weapon enveloped in vast qi flames. The strike collided with another giant fist, causing a terrifying qi force to ripple through the void, crushing a falling Yun Star into dust a hundred miles away.
Li Xuemiao joined the battle, but his aura and performance were not particularly notable on the vast battlefield.
Elsewhere.
Gu An sat in the courtyard, cracking sunflower seeds and watching the scene, pretending to read a book.
Shen Zhen approached and said, "You're reading the Chronicles of the Green Hero again. How many times are you going to read it?"
Gu An replied casually, "This is the original fourth volume. I haven't read it in a long time, and it gives me a different perspective every time."
Shen Zhen thought for a moment but didn't press further.
She stood by Gu An for a while, then turned and left the courtyard.
In recent years, she no longer sat idly by the alchemy cauldron. She often went out for walks, staying within the Wu Shi Dao Field.
The alchemy cauldron had gone cold, signaling that Gu An would no longer forge new Dao Treasures.
Gu An sat in the courtyard for an hour, then put down the sunflower seeds and tucked the Chronicles of the Green Hero into his robe. He stood up and stepped out of the Wu Shi Dao Field, arriving at the Qianling Palace deep in the ocean.
The Deep Sea Dragon Carp had established a dragon palace in the ocean and occasionally returned. The herb garden here was mostly managed by his avatar.
He began to harvest the mature herbs, preparing to perform another Lifespan Projection.
...
At dusk, a canyon with cliffs less than a hundred feet apart stood on both ends. One of the figures was Zhuang Xian from Nothingness.
Zhuang Xian, dressed in black and white, wearing a Daoist cap, exuded an ethereal aura. The sword scabbard on his back added a touch of chivalry.
He frowned, looking at the purple-clothed man across from him, and said gravely, "Lin, don't be deluded. The lives of immortal cultivators are also important. No matter how much good you do for mortal souls, it doesn't justify your indiscriminate slaughter of immortal cultivators."
The purple-clothed man's robes fluttered in the wind, his hair disheveled. His handsome, yet sinister face bore a carefree smile, his eyes filled with disdain. He laughed, "We've known each other for years, and you've tried to persuade me countless times. Why persist?"
Zhuang Xian drew his sword from his back, pointing it at the purple-clothed man, and said, "This time, I won't let you off."
The purple-clothed man shook his head and laughed, "I've heard this many times. You can't defeat me, so why cling to it? There are countless demons in the Outer Dao of the Underworld. Why focus on me? This time is different; I'm about to leave the Heavenly Spirit Grand World."
"Leave? Where to?" Zhuang Xian asked sternly.
The purple-clothed man's face showed a look of longing. "A place representing eternity. Brother Zhuang, I actually wanted to bring you, but our ideals differ. You can't meet the conditions required."
"Eternity? Does eternity require the slaughter of nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine Heaven and Earth Ascendant Immortals?"
Zhuang Xian asked sharply, receiving a disdainful snort from the purple-clothed man.
"No immortal cultivator is innocent. It's just a matter of who kills more. Can you say you've never killed anyone, never slain a demon, and that you have a clear conscience?"
The purple-clothed man stared at Zhuang Xian, his voice cold, his face twisted.
Zhuang Xian snorted, "I may not have a clear conscience, but my regret is that I didn't kill you and your kind earlier!"
As he spoke, a sword beam erupted from Zhuang Xian's sword, shining brightly as it streaked toward the purple-clothed man.
Boom!
The cliff beneath the purple-clothed man and the mountains behind him shattered, sending a terrifying dust cloud into the sky. His eyes didn't blink.
The sword tip was less than an inch from his eyes, his gaze cold.
"Since that's the case, Brother Zhuang, today you'll feel the gap between us. This is the first time I'm using Eternal Tong Sheng. If you don't give it your all, you'll die!"
The purple-clothed man's voice rang out, his killing intent erupting, causing the entire world to plunge into a chilling cold.
