"Now that the Codex is in hand, let's start transforming Earth!"
Knowing that the Codex's genetic code was embedded in Clark's cells, Zod waved his hand to turn off the virtual screen monitoring Jerry and Clark. He then issued an order to the Kryptonian warriors piloting the warship:
"Activate the Cosmic Engine!"
At Zod's command, a massive machine installed at the bottom of the warship detached and fell toward the Indian Ocean, while the main body of the Kryptonian warship flew toward Metropolis.
The Cosmic Engine is a unique device used by Kryptonians to transform planets for colonization.
By deploying the engine on one side of a planet and activating the Phantom Emitter on the other, the mass of the entire planet can be significantly increased, creating a particle environment suitable for Kryptonian life.
Zod's warship's actions were also detected by the Earth government, which had been monitoring them via satellite.
Only then did the human government realize that Zod's talk of peace was all a lie, and that war between Earth and Krypton was inevitable.

Fiora obediently revealed Zod's entire transformation plan.
"It's too late. The Cosmic Engine is already in the Indian Ocean of your Earth, and the warship is about to reach Metropolis. Once the Phantom Emitter is activated, Earth will be transformed."
Just as Clark had extracted the information from Fiora, Zod had already sensed something was amiss and rushed over with a large contingent of Kryptonian soldiers.
"Let's get out of here. I know how to stop them."
Jerry placed one hand on Clark's shoulder and the other on the controlled Fiora's shoulder, then used a Phantom Shift to teleport both of them away from the Kryptonian warship.
Zod, upon seeing Jerry take Clark and Fiora, was so furious his eyes turned green.
He had always suspected that Earthman was trouble, but he never imagined the man could spatially teleport.
However, he quickly regained his composure and issued orders to the Kryptonian scientist beside him:
"The Codex must not be lost. I will lead a team to pursue them, and you take the others to activate the Phantom Emitter!"
The Codex was embedded in Clark's cells, so they couldn't let him escape, dead or alive.
Fortunately, they still had Fiora in their custody, and her suit contained a tracking device. With the tracking signal, they could still locate the others, and there was still a chance to rectify the situation.
On the other side, Jerry had just teleported away with Clark and Fiora when he saw the massive Kryptonian warship about to hover over Metropolis.
"We can't let Zod activate the Phantom Emitter. The buildings in Metropolis can't withstand the energy, and it will cause massive civilian casualties."
Clark watched the warship stabilize above Metropolis, preparing to release its energy, and his face showed deep concern.
Jerry, however, waved his hand dismissively:
"Don't worry, I have a plan. You and Fiora should hold off Zod and his men!"
As the Kryptonian warship stabilized, General Zod led a dozen Kryptonian soldiers, using the tracking signal to fly toward Jerry and Clark's location.
"Alright, be careful."
Clark knew he had to trust Jerry, so he and the controlled Fiora faced General Zod and his men head-on.
Although Zod's team was larger, they were new to Earth and not as adapted to the environment as Clark. With Fiora as an ally, they could hold out for a while.
After all, in the movie, Superman single-handedly defeated all the Kryptonians, mainly by exploiting the spatial distortion energy released when two Phantom Emitters collided.
As Clark and Fiora moved away, Jerry teleported again.
"Phantom Emitter, activate!"
Inside the Kryptonian warship, the Kryptonian scientist, upon reaching the designated position, resolutely pressed the activation button. A massive energy beam shot down from the bottom of the warship toward Metropolis.
The citizens of Metropolis, who had been watching the Kryptonian warship in the sky with confusion, now realized the danger and screamed as they fled in all directions away from the energy beam.
Human military fighters and various advanced weapons, which they thought were cutting-edge, launched attacks on the warship as it descended. However, Earth's technology was no match for the warship's thick defenses, and the mechanical tentacles easily knocked down the attacking aircraft, rendering them useless.
As the massive energy beam was about to hit the ground in the city, a figure suddenly appeared directly below it.
