Chapter 814: The Underground Nest
Within seconds of the Blue Dragon Descendant Ambusher emerging at the Now Empire Frontline Position, a massive Golden Dragon descended from the heavens with a roar, wings slicing through the air like a storm. With a single, crushing sweep of its colossal Dragon Claw, it pinned the beast—half-wolf, half-blue dragon, fused in a grotesque union of body and spirit—into the earth.
"Roar—"
The Blue Dragon Descendant Ambusher writhed violently, its limbs thrashing, but it couldn’t budge. The more it struggled, the deeper it sank into the ground, blood foaming from its jaws. Cracks echoed through its body as bones shattered.
The Golden Dragon looked down with disdain, its golden eyes cold and contemptuous.
"Evil Dragon Descendant. I hadn’t realized these abominations were multiplying so rapidly."
A Copper Dragon landed beside it, its gaze fixed on the squirming creature beneath the claw. It sighed.
"Indeed. They’re swarming across the Taliro Desert—more countless than rats beneath the earth. A constant nuisance. Ferdinand, just end it. One less of these mindless destroyers is a boon to Feanso’s Contribution Points."
Without hesitation, the Golden Dragon—known as Ferdinand—increased the pressure. The Blue Dragon Descendant Ambusher was crushed into a bloody pulp, its remains splattering across the ground like meaty shrapnel.
Standing nearby, Singo stepped forward, his face earnest.
"Master Ferdinand… we’ve just returned from the Tower of Liro. We’ve encountered many of these creatures. But… what are they?"
The Adult Golden Dragon lifted his chin with regal arrogance, his gaze sweeping over the Red Dragon-blooded warrior like a king surveying a peasant.
"You, of all beings, should know the origin of such filth. You’re a descendant of the Red Dragon, aren’t you?"
Singo shook his head sincerely.
"We weren’t born Dragonborn. We were chosen—blessed by King Kai Xiusu’s Divine Favor."
The Golden Dragon lowered his eyes, his voice now cold and dismissive.
"Heretical Dragon scions. Omen of Destruction. Curse-born. Born from dragons blessed by Tiamat—mere lowly beasts. Once, such births were rare. But years ago, those cultists performed blasphemous rituals, allowing the Dragon Queen’s Divine Power to seep into the Material Realm. Since then, countless Evil Dragon Descendants have awakened—spreading chaos across the world."
Singo narrowed his eyes.
"Then… is there any way to destroy them at the source?"
"Difficult," the Golden Dragon rumbled, shaking his massive head. "Their Nest lies deep beneath the earth—home to dozens, even hundreds of these creatures. Even a True Dragon would risk fatal Life Force depletion if they dared enter unprepared."
"Beneath the earth…"
Singo lowered his head, a spark flaring in his eyes. After a long silence, he looked up.
"Thank you, Master. That clears everything."
The Golden Dragon regarded him with quiet intensity.
"No matter your faction, your allegiance—right now, we share a common enemy. The followers of Tiamat."
With a powerful beat of their vast wings, the Golden Dragon and Copper Dragon took flight, vanishing into the sky. Only the mangled remains of the Blue Dragon Descendant Ambusher remained—crushed, lifeless—along with Singo, now lost in thought.
Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang approached, collecting scales from the ground. He scratched his head, grinning.
"Got another plan, huh? Spill it."
Singo paused, then smiled—confident, sharp.
"Guys… how about we turn their entire nest upside down?"
The Stuffed Bun, still smoking from a recent electric shock, peered out from his shell, his voice dripping with resentment.
"Please. I’d love to see them all die."
Xia Ye Qiu Yu rolled her eyes.
"Just escaped the jaws of danger, and now you want to walk straight into a lion’s den?"
Singo wagged a finger.
"Not quite. More like… lighting a firecracker under a rabbit hole."
He rummaged in his Dimensional Backpack, pulling out a massive Heavy Cannon with a barrel so thick it looked like it could swallow a man. At its core, a shell nearly three meters long glinted menacingly.
He placed it on the ground, patting its side proudly.
"Stole this from the Empire Construction Crew. The Crust Shatterer Drill Bomb. Can pierce ten meters of concrete. Multi-stage detonation. Designed to collapse mountains. Perfect for destroying underground objectives."
The Stuffed Bun stared, wide-eyed, as if he were seeing a Blue Mechanical Cat merge with Singo.
"Bro… are you Doraemon or something?"
Singo turned toward the Taliro Great Desert, his voice low and determined.
"Next step… find their nest."
"Let’s go!"
A Wyvern perched nearby lifted its head and let out a thunderous, echoing Roar.
---
The Taliro Great Desert stretched endlessly before them—golden dunes rolling like waves under a merciless sun. But upon closer inspection, movement stirred beneath the sands: Blue-scaled monsters slithering through the shifting earth.
These were the Blue Dragon Descendants, now rampant across the desert. Born from the earth, they devoured everything in their path, tearing apart the native wildlife—giant camels, desert lizards, continent tortoises, sand beasts—leaving only bleached skeletons in their wake.
The ecosystem was collapsing. The desert, once a harsh but balanced realm, now trembled under their reign.
Deep within the wasteland, an Evil Dragon Priest in tattered robes knelt before a ruined temple, staff in hand, chanting prayers into the wind.
"Storms churn in your eyes, lightning tearing the world apart! Praise the Blue Lord of Dragons, weaver of the Storm Dome! Tiamat—your head raised high in the Nine Hells! You are descending upon this world!"
His voice rose, trembling with fervor. The sky darkened. Thunderclouds gathered, lightning flashing like veins of death. A dust storm erupted, howling across the dunes. From the earth, hundreds of Evil Dragon Descendants burst forth, roaring in unison.
The priest raised his Scepter, pointing east.
"Enemy lies there! They seek to stop the Mother Goddess’s arrival! Offspring of Tiamat—destroy their cities! Tear apart their armies!"
He didn’t finish.
The Blue Dragon Descendants erupted into frenzy, eyes blazing. With deafening roars, they charged north—running, leaping, flying—forming a furious sandstorm that shook the ground. The sheer force of their advance sent a chill down the spine of any who witnessed it.
---
Far beyond the dunes, four players crouched behind a ridge, cloaked in Greater Invisibility Spell.
The Stuffed Bun whispered, eyes wide.
"Man… there are hundreds of them. Probably thousands just in this area. If they spot us… we won’t even leave a bone."
Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang grinned, cracking his knuckles.
"Relax. I just unlocked the Self-Detonation Ability of the Deep Pit炼魔. If they catch us, we take them down with us. Not a bad trade."
He glanced at his Watch, his expression almost… eager.
Singo, meanwhile, studied his Magic Map, whispering.
"See how they’re flowing? The direction of their movement… it leads straight to the nest."
He pointed to the distant ruins.
"Underground. About fifty meters below the surface. We’ll enter through the tunnels they’ve already dug."
"Got it."
They moved forward, silently, cautiously. Then—out of the sand—three Blue Dragon Descendant Digging Creatures emerged, their bodies sleek and powerful, claws tearing through the dunes like blades through water.
Each was four to five meters long, with blue dragon-like heads, massive claws, and tails ending in jagged, electrified spines. Electric currents pulsed along their tails like living lightning.
These were Blue Dragon Descendant Digging Creatures—the laborers of the Blue Dragons of Tower Liro, digging fortifications, expanding their nests.
They charged forward, mindless, obeying instinct, not noticing the invisible intruders.
The four players held their breath, slipping through the narrow gaps between them—barely brushing their bodies as they passed.
"Good luck," Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang muttered. "We’ve got a ready-made passage. War Fury Brother leads. If we can’t dodge a monster, we cut it down."
"Obviously," Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang chuckled, ruffling the bald head of his Patina. Without hesitation, he plunged into the cavern tunnel. The Stuffed Bun and Xia Ye Qiu Yu followed closely. Singo stayed behind, scanning for threats.
The tunnels, carved by the Digging Creatures, were wide and labyrinthine—perfect for movement. The players advanced swiftly, avoiding detection.
But then—a sudden rush.
A Blue Dragon Descendant Ambusher shot through the tunnel, unaware of the invisible presence. It was heading straight for them.
Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang didn’t hesitate. With a thunderous crack, he swung his Battle Axe—a single, brutal strike that split the creature’s skull wide open. Brain and blood sprayed across the walls.
Singo’s voice was sharp.
"They’re sensitive. They smelled us. This place is too dangerous. We move—now."
They sprinted through the tunnels. Luck held. No more encounters. They reached the heart of the underground.
And then—the world opened.
Beneath the endless dunes, a vast, cavernous palace lay hidden. A Root Stone Pillar, thick as a tree, stood at the center, its surface pulsing with blue electric light. Around it, Blue Dragon Descendants slept in every imaginable pose—clinging to walls, perched on ledges, hanging upside down from the ceiling. Their bodies flickered with faint light, casting shifting shadows across the cavern.
This was the Nest—the sacred site where cultists sacrificed wealth and flesh to Tiamat.
Singo stared at the central pillar, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"Found it. The Load-Bearing Wall. That’s our target."
He pulled the Heavy Cannon from his Dimensional Backpack, set it up, and began calibrating. His aim settled on the pillar.
"Qiu Yu—prepare the Group Teleportation Spell. This place is going to collapse. We need to be ready to retreat."
"Got it."
Xia Ye Qiu Yu nodded, her pale golden eyes glowing with arcane light, the air around her rippling with spatial distortion.
"War Fury Brother—guard us. Kill any that get too close."
"Easy," Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang replied, drawing his axe. He stood on high alert, scanning every shadow.
"And me?" The Stuffed Bun poked his head forward.
Singo sighed, waving him off.
"Stay out of the way. Just… assist War Fury. Don’t mess up."
The Stuffed Bun slumped, dejected. But the others were too focused. No one noticed him.
"Preparation…"
Singo took a deep breath. The Cannon Muzzle shifted slowly, aiming at the middle lower section of the pillar.
"Three… two…"
He held his breath.
"One."
"Boom—"
The Cannon fired.
A deafening roar. A shrieking whistle. The 尖头 Shell shot forward at terrifying speed, carving through the air like a bullet.
At that moment, the Blue Dragon Descendants awoke.
They roared—angry, furious—sensing intruders. They surged forward, claws scraping stone, eyes blazing with hatred.
"Boom!"
The shell struck the Root Stone Pillar.
The cavern shook. The High-Strength Tungsten Alloy shell tore through the rock like a battle axe, splitting it open. A massive Hole appeared. The blast hurled a dozen Blue Dragon Descendants into the air.
But it wasn’t over.
The Shell’s tail detonated—a chain reaction of high-energy explosive. The shockwave ripped through the pillar’s structure, turning it into a crumbling maze. The shell pierced through, like a giant drill, emerging from the other side.
It didn’t stop.
The Shell slammed into the Rock Wall beside it—ripping open the earth. The explosion tore through everything in its path.
"Boom—"
The Root Stone Pillar cracked. Then—collapsed.
The entire cavern trembled. Rocks rained from the ceiling. Cracks split the walls, spreading like veins. Yellow sand poured down in torrents.
The Nest was collapsing.
"Roar!"
The Awakened Blue Dragon Descendants lunged, frenzied. But Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang swung his axe—a whirlwind of blood and broken limbs.
The cracks widened. The ceiling groaned. More sand poured down. The players were nearly buried.
Then—a shimmer.
Above them, a massive Teleportation Array materialized, rotating slowly, pulsing with arcane light. The air warped, distorting space.
"Now!"
"Move! This place is going to vanish!"
In the final second—before the ground swallowed them, before the sandstorm buried them alive—the four players activated the Teleportation Spell.
They vanished.
Just in time.
