Chapter 81: Perfect Flesh
Chapter 81: Perfect Flesh
As Gu Qingfeng spoke the words about using violence to stop violence, he could sense the murderous intent emanating from Gu Yang intensify.
"Using violence to stop violence!"
"You make a good point," Gu Qingfeng nodded.
Gu Yang was prone to killing, but he wasn’t a bloodthirsty maniac. In these chaotic times, blind kindness was the most lethal of all. Having a killer’s heart wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
So, Gu Qingfeng didn’t continue to dissuade him. Instead, he instructed Gu Yang to focus on his cultivation and keep an eye on the events in the world. If anything became too much to handle, he was to report back immediately.
Gu Yang nodded in agreement and bowed before leaving.
Not long after Gu Yang’s departure, Xu Yulan entered gracefully, her already beautiful face enhanced by her advancing cultivation.
"Yang seems a bit too bloodthirsty," Xu Yulan said softly as she approached Gu Qingfeng.
Gu Qingfeng glanced at her and smiled faintly, shaking his head. "A bloodthirsty heart is not a problem. These are not peaceful times. As Yang said, only violence can stop violence in this world."
Xu Yulan nodded in agreement.
"Your words are wise. However, Yang’s cultivation is still weak. If he encounters a powerful foe, it could be troublesome. You are important, so you shouldn’t act rashly. Should I step in and help?"
She had been refining her iron bones and, though not yet at the Bone Forging stage, she was close to it.
Gu Qingfeng replied, "Even though you are now at the half-Bone Forging stage, you might not be a match for Yang. He recently slew a true Bone Forger. With his recent breakthrough, ordinary Bone Forgers pose no threat to him."
"Slew a Bone Forger!"
Xu Yulan’s eyes widened in surprise. She hadn’t realized Gu Yang’s strength had grown to such a degree.
These past few days, she had only heard that the White Stone Sect was in turmoil and that Gu Yang was leading the disciples of the Gu Family Village to quell the unrest. That was why she had come, hoping to lend a hand. With the help of the Breakthrough Pill, she was confident in her strength.
But now that Gu Yang could slay Bone Forgers, her half-Bone Forging status seemed insufficient.
"Matters of the world will be handled by us. You should stay here and focus on completing your iron bone refinement and advancing to the Bone Forging stage."
"You are right, my lord."
"Where are Xuan and Xiu?"
"They are sleeping. Young children tend to be more prone to sleep, but with your help in strengthening their bodies, they are much healthier than ordinary children."
Mentioning Gu Xuan and Gu Xiu, Xu Yulan’s eyes filled with maternal love.
Gu Qingfeng said, "The children are still young. In a few years, they can begin their martial arts training."
"Speaking of which, Yang is not getting any younger. In a few years, it will be time for him to marry. With all the killing he has done, perhaps finding a virtuous wife could help alleviate some of his murderous intent."
Xu Yulan abruptly changed the subject.
Gu Qingfeng’s expression grew serious. "I have thought about this, but there are no suitable matches yet."
"If you trust me, my lord, I can take care of this matter."
"It would be best if you handled it."
Hearing Xu Yulan’s willingness to take on the task, Gu Qingfeng had no reason to refuse.
After all, dealing with these trivial matters was a headache for Gu Qingfeng. Xu Yulan stepping in made a significant difference.
Women, after all, are often more meticulous.
---
Over the next few days, Gu Qingfeng continued to study the Overlord Blade Slash and practice the Qingyang Technique and the Five Viscera Canon.
He also used the Blade Nurturing Art to cultivate the Evil Purging Blade.
Gu Yang’s breakthrough earned him ten Bone Washing Pills, all of which Gu Qingfeng had consumed. The Bone Washing Pills, being a higher tier than the Bone Strengthening Pills, proved effective even for Gu Qingfeng’s current cultivation level.
Now, in terms of his foundational strength, Gu Qingfeng suspected he could rival a Third Stage Viscera Cultivator, perhaps even a Fourth Stage. If he went all out, he might even stand a chance against a Fifth Stage Viscera Cultivator.
As for facing a Master, Gu Qingfeng was uncertain, as he had only heard of such powerful beings and had never seen one in person.
With his breakthrough to the Second Stage Viscera Cultivation, Gu Qingfeng found that his practice of the Qingyang Technique had accelerated. The Qingyang Technique, which he had already advanced to the Fifth Minor Success, broke through to the Fifth Major Success in just a few days.
At this rate, reaching the Sixth Stage would not take long.
Unfortunately, his cultivation of the Five Viscera Canon had not progressed much, and he had no clue how to advance to the Third Stage Viscera Cultivation.
To this end, Gu Qingfeng delved into the Mystic Jade Manual, hoping to find a way to break through to the Third Stage.
Since he was already at the Second Stage Viscera Cultivation, he found it easier to cultivate the Mystic Jade Manual. Within a few days, he had successfully reached the First Stage of the Mystic Jade Manual.
From this, Gu Qingfeng discovered another issue: while Viscera Cultivation techniques were difficult to master, once you had a foothold, advancing in the same level of martial arts became much easier.
Both the Five Viscera Canon and the Mystic Jade Manual were no exception.
However, the Mystic Jade Manual, being somewhat similar to the Five Viscera Canon, did not bring much improvement to his strength even after he mastered the first two stages.
"It seems the Five Viscera Canon is indeed a top-tier Viscera Cultivation technique. The organs it cultivates are already nearly perfect."
"Because the organs are so well-refined, the Mystic Jade Manual does not provide much additional benefit."
"Previously, other martial arts could enhance one’s vital energy and alter the physical body because they were not truly perfect, and the human body had not been fully developed."
"If a martial artist’s physical body is truly perfected, with each step finely refined, then no amount of lower-tier martial arts will be of any use!"
From his study of the Mystic Jade Manual, Gu Qingfeng gained new insights into the martial path.
His physical body was not yet truly perfect. Only by integrating various martial arts and continuously strengthening his foundation could he achieve true perfection.
At that point, Gu Qingfeng believed, his strength would undergo a qualitative transformation.
"It’s coming soon!"
"Given my current progress, I believe it won’t be long before my physical body reaches perfection!"
