Chapter 808: The Body of Immortality
Kai Xiusu’s System Panel flared with over a hundred brand-new Specialization entries.
Thunderbolt, Frost, Time—the familiar powers surged through him like an unstoppable flood. The sensation was exhilarating. Every inch of his body radiated intense heat and pressure, steam rising in thick, boiling plumes from his scales.
After all, these Magical Equipment had always been mere tools—external enhancements. But now, they were part of him, fused into his very essence. Not only had they become extensions of his strength, but they now possessed their own potential for growth and evolution. No wonder Kai Xiusu felt such unbridled delight.
With every gesture, the Red Dragon Emperor commanded the elements. Storms twisted in his wake, blinding lightning lashed through the air, and frost-laden snow spread like a creeping shadow. Phenomena unfolded in rapid succession—each movement a testament to his ascension.
At this moment, the treasure vault was no longer filled with gold and jewels. In their place stood a colossal statue forged entirely of molten gold—over a hundred meters tall—encasing the Red Dragon Emperor in its embrace.
Crack—
A sharp, echoing sound split the air. Under the relentless assault of Elemental Energy, fissures spiderwebbed across the statue’s surface. More cracks appeared, spreading like wildfire.
Then—BOOM!
The golden monolith shattered into a million fragments. A storm of steam erupted from the collapse, and within the swirling mists, a towering, awe-inspiring figure emerged—Kai Xiusu.
As the smoke cleared, his true form was revealed.
The Red Dragon Emperor’s appearance hadn’t changed drastically—but subtle refinements now spoke of divine elevation. The golden edges of his scales glowed with intensified brilliance. Flowing, burnished patterns of molten gold traced the ridges of his horns, and spiraled around the Dragon Crystal on his chest, lending him an aura of regal sanctity.
But the most striking change was in his gaze.
His vertical pupils—like molten lava orbs—burned with an unearthly light. Within them, countless tiny luminous particles danced like stars in a boundless cosmos. It was as if his soul had transcended physical existence, piercing into some unknown, transcendent realm.
Kai Xiusu lowered his head, spreading his massive Dragon Claw. A wave of Aura of Intimidation exploded outward, a faint shimmer of light forming a swirling storm around him. The sheer power, the overwhelming majesty—it caused the very space around him to tremble, as if reality itself hesitated before his presence.
“Powerful… truly powerful,” he murmured.
His eyes flicked to the translucent light screen before him. A brand-new entry bloomed in his System Panel.
> [Awe Radiance]
> In addition to innate aura dominance, the Dragon of Divine Ascension gains a unique Fear Aura. This aura radiates out to a 20-kilometer radius, bolstering allies’ resolve while instilling terror in enemies. Allies gain a +4 morale bonus; enemies must succeed on a Will Save or fall into Tremble Fear state. When Awe Radiance is released in conjunction with Divine Power, merely staring in awe at the Dragon can cause mortals to be stunned. If they fail their Will Save, there is a chance they are transformed into loyal Followers.
“Not bad for a semi-god-level aura,” Kai Xiusu mused. “If this power can transform mortals into Followers, then reaching true godhood must be the final evolution—complete Descent into divinity.”
He activated Heaven’s Judgment Dragon Eye, studying his own body. The changes were subtle—microscopic shifts in texture, alignment, and energy flow—but they had reshaped his entire presence. His aura, his structure, his very essence—everything had been transformed into something beyond the world.
At this moment, Kai Xiusu’s body could only be described as perfect.
Not the delicate precision of an elven sculpture. Not the brutish, raw power of a Titan. No—this was the ultimate fusion of pure strength and absolute harmony.
His massive form stood like the foundation of a mountain range. Every ripple of muscle pulsed with the force capable of tearing open the earth. Yet, in its stillness, it flowed with the grace of a masterwork sculpture—timeless, eternal, as if it had existed for eons.
Mortal constructs—no matter how grand, no matter how awe-inspiring—were but fragile sandcastles in the face of his Dragon Body. The very roots of their existence trembled in fear beneath the silent, overwhelming dignity radiating from him.
This was not merely power. It was transcendence.
A presence beyond matter. Beyond the mundane.
To scholars of the Outer Planes, such a being would be known by only one name:
Immortality.
At that moment, a new message shimmered across his Character Sheet.
> [Immortality]
> A Dragon who walks this path is, in truth, a Semi-God. It possesses the sacred trait of Immortality—its lifespan, in theory, matches that of the Multiverse. It requires no food, no sleep, no breath. The only attacks capable of killing a Semi-God are those originating from another Semi-God or higher. Mortal attacks may crush its flesh, but after a long time, it will heal completely.
Kai Xiusu tested it—carefully slicing off a fragment of his scale’s keratin layer. He crushed it between his claws.
But to his astonishment, the fragments began to reform—converging visibly, drawn back into his body like iron filings to a magnet.
Only then did he truly grasp the meaning of Immortality.
His body felt like a self-sustaining universe, independent of the Material Plane. The basic needs of mortal existence—breathing, eating, sleeping—had vanished from his life.
Not because he had lost the ability.
But because they were no longer necessary.
For a Semi-God, maintaining such mortal functions was meaningless—mere clutter. Even if he still possessed them, it was only out of habit.
The System Panel continued to refresh, line after line, relentless and unyielding—each update a new wave of power.
> [You have assimilated a portion of Primordial Divinity. Dragon of Divine Ascension levels up to: 4]
> [You gain Legendary Feat: Dragon’s Knowledge, Rapid Healing, Enhanced Resilience, Increased Speed, Iron Will, Quick Reflexes]
> At level 2, you gain the special ability Supernatural Vitality. For every two levels thereafter, the Dragon of Divine Ascension gains +1 Constitution.
> You gain the special ability Shapechange Immunity: the Dragon of Divine Ascension is immune to all shape-shifting, petrification, and any other effect that alters its form—though any shape-shifting spells it casts remain effective on itself.
> At level 3, you gain Supernatural Damage Reduction: damage reduction that can only be overcome by Legendary-tier weapons.
> At level 4, you gain Guardian Life: the Dragon of Divine Ascension becomes immune to attacks that drain energy, drain attributes, or inflict attribute damage...
Kai Xiusu stared at the endless cascade of text, feeling the surge of new power coursing through his veins.
Habit still ruled him.
He exhaled—a long, deep breath of scorching, thick smoke.
“Not bad,” he murmured, a grin spreading across his draconic face. “The Mother of Monsters truly owns everything in this world. One plundering of her hoard earns more than years of hard labor. Looks like the Dragon Worship Church will have to be taken down.”
At that very moment, deep within the abysses of Hell, Tiamat’s Divine Realm erupted in fury.
A roar—terrible, deafening—shattered the heavens and the earth. Even Avernus, the realm of the damned, trembled uncontrollably.
“Kai Xiusu!” the voice thundered. “You cursed traitor, you shameless thief—”
