Chapter 807: The Abandoned Death Eater
Chapter 807: The Abandoned Death Eater
Watching the Ministry of Magic officials kneeling and begging for mercy, the surrounding Death Eaters laughed heartily...
Kingsley Shacklebolt and his companions, however, flushed with shame, feeling disgraced by their colleagues who had abandoned their dignity.
"My patience is limited. I will only wait until the last minute! Those still standing at that time will have no reason to live!" Ivan casually remarked, looking at the dozen or so who still remained standing.
The wizards who had been holding firm now showed signs of hesitation, contemplating whether to make a futile sacrifice or to temporarily compromise to save their lives and plan a counterattack for another day.
If there had been any chance of victory, they would have seized it without hesitation. Unfortunately, the current situation left them with no hope. They would die pointlessly!
As the seconds ticked by, just as Arthur and the others were about to give in, the wall behind them suddenly exploded, sending shards of debris flying like arrows towards the Death Eaters.
The sudden attack caught everyone off guard. Only a few of the more powerful Death Eaters managed to react in time, conjuring a protective barrier to block the barrage of stones.
From the cloud of dust and debris, over twenty Aurors and a large number of unfamiliar faces emerged through the newly created passage.
At the same time, a commotion erupted at the entrance of the meeting room. Under everyone's gaze, Pierce, the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, who had been missing all morning, marched in with over a hundred wizards, surrounding the Death Eaters from all sides. He shouted with righteous indignation.
"Your end has come, Dark Lord!"
Arthur and his companions, who had been on the brink of despair, were invigorated by the sight of Pierce and his reinforcements, who seemed to have descended from the heavens.
Although they were still unsure where Pierce had been all morning and why he had suddenly appeared with such a large force, none of that mattered. What mattered was that the moment for counterattack had arrived!
"Reducto! (Sectumsempra)" Kingsley Shacklebolt seized the opportunity and initiated the battle. Spell beams struck a Death Eater who hadn't yet reacted, knocking him to the ground.
The battle erupted immediately. The Death Eaters, who had just escaped from prison and had already fought a fierce battle, were no match for the Aurors and their reinforcements. Moreover, Pierce's forces outnumbered them!
Within moments, over a dozen Death Eaters had fallen.
However, the surrounded Death Eaters quickly regained their composure after the initial chaos, knowing that the Dark Lord's power was immense, and his strength alone could make up for the numerical disadvantage.
This proved true as Ivan forcefully waved his wand, causing a section of the wall to crumble and block the attacks from dozens of Aurors. With another wave, several Aurors were rendered unconscious.
Just as the battle intensified, Pierce shouted again.
"What are you waiting for? Get moving!"
Pierce's desperate cry stunned both the unaware Death Eaters and Kingsley and his companions.
Could there be another ambush?
At the same moment, Malfoy, Macnair, Crabbe, and twenty other wizards, almost simultaneously, turned their wands on their fellow Death Eaters.
"Diffindo! (Diffindo)"
"Petrificus! (Petrificus Totalus)"
"Avada Kedavra! (Avada Kedavra)"
...
A barrage of spell beams hit the unprepared Death Eaters, and in that instant, nearly a quarter of them were killed!
Arthur, Kingsley, and the others were stunned by the scene unfolding before them. They had never expected Lucius Malfoy and his companions to suddenly turn against the Death Eaters and launch an attack.
Could these people all be Undercover Agents sent by Pierce to Voldemort's side?
No wonder the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement had arrived here with a large contingent, as if he had been expecting this all along...
The rebellion of Macnair and others completely altered the course of the battle. The Death Eaters were thrown into chaos, their morale plummeting.
Only Bella managed to barely dodge the first wave of ambushes, turning around to see Malfoy and his allies ruthlessly slaughtering their former comrades. She was so enraged that she could hardly contain herself.
"You dare... you dare to betray us, Lucius!" Bella, not knowing who had ambushed her, pointed her wand directly at the most familiar face, Lucius Malfoy, and roared in a blaze of fury.
"Avada Kedavra~"
Lucius, who had just dispatched a Death Eater, felt a sudden chill. When he saw the green light from Bella's wand, his heart nearly stopped. But he had noticed it too late, and the green beam was already hurtling towards him.
Fortunately, a foot kicked him to the ground just in time, and the green beam narrowly missed his head, striking the wall behind him instead.
Bella, distracted by her rage, was quickly blasted away by a barrage of spell beams from the side.
Lucius rolled on the ground, drenched in cold sweat, and cast a Protego charm to shield himself before he shakily got back to his feet.
It was only then that he realized his savior was none other than his long-time rival, Arthur Weasley!
"I've always hated you, Malfoy! But I have to admit, you finally did something right this time!" Arthur Weasley, after casting a spell to take down a Death Eater, turned to Lucius with a mix of contempt and admiration.
"Hmph, mind your own business. I didn't need your help to dodge that!" Lucius retorted, though his body instinctively moved closer to Arthur, not wanting to be left alone and vulnerable.
Arthur Weasley didn't say anything more and focused entirely on the battle.
The sudden shift in the battle's dynamics enraged the Dark Lord, who waved his wand repeatedly, causing explosions to rock the Meeting Room!
But the balance of power was now heavily skewed. Even the Dark Lord, despite his immense strength, was no match for the combined efforts of dozens of Aurors. Many Death Eaters fell under the relentless assault.
"Please, Master, do something!"
"Save me!"
...
Augustus and others cried out in despair, and the Dark Lord seemed to reach the peak of his fury under the watchful eyes of the crowd.
"Enough, all of you die!" Ivan, with a fierce wave of his wand, sent several dozen Aurors flying away in an instant!
However, before the Death Eaters could feel any relief, Ivan suddenly turned and, extending his black robe like a bolt of black lightning, flew out through the hole in the wall.
The Dark Lord... had escaped?!
Everyone present was stunned, but upon reflection, it wasn't entirely surprising. Once the Death Eaters here were defeated, facing an onslaught from over two hundred wizards would be a death sentence, even for the infamous Dark Lord!
"No, Master! You can't abandon us!" Augustus shouted in despair, watching Voldemort flee in a panic.
"Take me with you, Master, please, take me with you!" The Carrows, lying amidst the rubble with blood covering their heads, could not accept the harsh reality of being abandoned by their master.
The other Death Eaters wailed and cried, completely losing their will to fight, plunging into endless despair...
