Chapter 805: Batman vs. Catwoman (Second Update)
Chapter 805: Batman vs. Catwoman (Second Update)
"Jerry, Jerry, I found a lot of mice. Should we catch them?"
Catwoman, who had returned to the hotel before Jerry, saw Jerry appear and excitedly ran over, still holding her whip and without changing her clothes.
Although she didn't have Jerry's radar-like mental power, after being blessed by the Egyptian Cat Goddess, her hearing and perception had significantly improved.
So, shortly after returning to the room, she noticed the presence of the police outside.
"Not just mice, there's also a big bat. Ignore them and see what they're up to."
Jerry jumped onto the table and replied calmly.
If it were a week ago, he might have been more cautious. But now, even if these people came with rocket launchers and tanks, they wouldn't pose any threat to him.
While Jerry and Catwoman were talking, Gordon, who was hiding in the stairwell with a dozen officers, was looking at a mini display in his hand and speaking into a walkie-talkie:
"Target One and Target Two are back in the room. Should we move now?"
It turned out that after discussing the plan with Batman the previous night, Gordon had mobilized the most elite officers from the police department, armed with special weapons provided by Batman, and had them lying in wait inside the hotel.
After confirming that the room was empty using a drone, they quietly installed surveillance cameras and waited for the cat and the man to return.
"Move in!"
Hearing the response in the walkie-talkie, Gordon waved his hand and led his team carefully toward the room where Jerry and Catwoman were.
" Ding dong!"
The doorbell rang.
"Who is it?"
Catwoman glanced at Jerry and smiled as she asked at the door.
"Room service. We've detected a potential electrical hazard in your room and need to enter to fix it. We apologize for the inconvenience."
A female officer behind Gordon delivered the prepared excuse.
Jerry flicked his tail, and the door lock automatically opened, revealing a small gap.
"The door isn't locked, come in."
Gordon looked at the scene on his mini display, frowned slightly, but still gave the signal to attack.
Originally, he had planned to launch the attack the moment the door opened, but to his surprise, the door opened on its own without any movement from the other side. Just as Batman had said, the cat could use magic, so they had to go in with force.
"Bang!"
The door was kicked open, and then a dozen circular objects, resembling grenades, were accurately thrown next to Jerry and Catwoman. The room was immediately shrouded in a dense smoke.
"Smoke grenades?"
Jerry was momentarily stunned, then couldn't help but twitch his whiskers.
Upon closer inspection, he realized that this wasn't ordinary smoke. It was a special mixture of catnip, silver vine, honeysuckle, valerian root, and a sedative. Each of the first five ingredients could make a cat excited or hallucinate, clearly prepared specifically to deal with him.
Jerry didn't know that Bruce had been frequenting pet stores lately, using the kitten Afu had given him for experiments.
"Who would have thought that the trick I used against Mrs. Norris at Hogwarts would be used against me today."
Recalling the times he used those tricks to avoid being caught by Mrs. Norris back when he was at Hogwarts, Jerry shook his head. With a flick of his tail, he used wind magic to instantly sweep the smoke out of the window.
With his enhanced cat body, even with an extra-large dose, these substances had little effect on him, but they could still affect Catwoman. So, he quickly cleared them out.
Influenced by the powers of the Egyptian Cat Goddess, Catwoman's body has many feline traits. Smoke containing materials like catnip can make her extremely excited.
Seeing Batman's custom smoke bomb being neutralized in an unbelievable way, Gordon decisively ordered the police officers to rush into the room. He then raised a strange weapon and fired at Jerry and Catwoman.
What they fired were not bullets but electric net guns modified by Batman, capable of shooting powerful electric nets to trap and stun enemies.
The nets had a wide range, making them ideal for catching agile animals like cats.
"Quite well-prepared."
Jerry didn't dodge at all. With a flick of his tail, the nets shot back and accurately ensnared every police officer, including Gordon, the sheriff. Then a surge of electricity coursed through the room, and over a dozen officers were knocked out on the spot.
Just then, the window shattered, and a prepared black figure leaped in, directly pouncing on Jerry, who had just finished casting a spell and was less vigilant.
"Flavordo!"
A blue magic beam struck the black figure, causing its surface to flicker with electric sparks. However, it showed no signs of slowing down and continued to charge at Jerry.
"Special static protection measures on the clothing, breaking down my magic energy. Quite interesting."
Seeing that Batman was unaffected by the transformation spell, Jerry showed a rare hint of interest.
But before he could make another move, a whip suddenly wrapped around Batman's waist, pulling him back forcefully.
"This guy has a great physique. Let me handle him!"
It was Catwoman, who had become excited from inhaling a bit of the smoke. As Batman rushed into the room, she had swung her whip.
"Oh, Batman versus Catwoman, this is going to be good!"
Seeing Batman and Catwoman engaged in a fierce struggle on the bed, Jerry put away the spell he was about to cast and conjured a bowl of popcorn. He crouched down, using his paw to scoop the popcorn into his mouth, watching the fight with great interest.
Catwoman's physical abilities had been enhanced by the Egyptian Cat Goddess, surpassing those of a normal human, especially in flexibility and reaction speed.
However, she had not received systematic combat training. She was previously a cosmetics brand designer who loved art, so her fighting relied entirely on instinct.
Batman, on the other hand, had normal human physical abilities but had pushed them to the limits. His combat skills were at a master level, and he was adept at using auxiliary tools.
Thus, their fight was truly evenly matched.
"I remember, these two seem to be a couple."
Eating popcorn and watching the brawl, Jerry thought to himself.
"Next time!"
Seeing how difficult Catwoman was to handle and the cat's watchful gaze, Bruce knew the first step of the capture operation had failed.
But he was prepared for this. He could use this opportunity to relax their guard and move to the second step, luring them to a prearranged battle site for the capture.
In such a confined space as the hotel room, many of his secret weapons couldn't be used effectively.
Unfortunately, reality didn't always align with expectations.
Batman was smart and had prepared thoroughly based on the information he had about Jerry, such as the energy-absorbing and dissipating new Batman suit.
However, he could never have imagined the sheer variety of strange magic Jerry knew.
