Chapter 804: It Can't Be the Dark Lord Leading the Death Eaters, Can It?
Chapter 804: It Can't Be the Dark Lord Leading the Death Eaters, Can It?
Lucius and Macnair's words brought Augustus back to his senses. No wonder they hadn't seen Wormtail and the others—they must have been carrying out the decoy mission...
The other Death Eaters also chimed in, praising the Dark Lord's brilliant plan.
With this, the Aurors guarding the Ministry of Magic would be greatly reduced. Plus, with those pesky protective arrays unable to activate, they had a significant advantage. The fall of the Ministry of Magic was imminent!
"Master, when do we start?" Amycus Carrow asked eagerly, already itching to storm the Ministry of Magic and unleash the pent-up rage of the past decade.
"Of course, it's now!" Ivan said without hesitation. He then looked at the enthusiastic Death Eaters before him and continued in a dark tone, "Take your wands! We're going to give the Minister of Magic a special Halloween gift!"
"I bet Fudge will love it!" Bella laughed maniacally.
Augustus, Dolohov, and the others joined in the laughter, eager to cause chaos.
...
Britain, 9:40 AM.
With a spatial displacement, over a hundred figures appeared on a dilapidated, abandoned street in London.
In front of them stood an old red telephone box, quietly situated on the right side of the road. Ivan, who had been here twice, knew this was the entrance to the Ministry of Magic!
"Should we give the Ministry of Magic a heads-up, Master?" Macnair asked, eyeing the phone booth with a teasing smile.
"Of course!" Ivan's lips curled into a smile. He casually raised a finger, and without uttering a spell, the red telephone box erupted into a fiery blaze, transforming into a large, deep red fireball that plummeted into the depths below.
About ten seconds later, a violent impact and explosion echoed from underground...
After this brief greeting, Ivan leaped into the deep, dark tunnel. Under the effect of a Levitation Charm, his black robe billowed out like bat wings, carrying him down swiftly, giving the appearance of flight to onlookers.
To mimic the Dark Lord's signature skill, Ivan had spent a full week practicing. Now, he finally had it down to a convincing degree.
The other Death Eaters transformed into clouds of black smoke and followed Ivan into the depths below...
Meanwhile, the previously orderly Ministry of Magic was thrown into chaos by the falling telephone box. The deafening explosion drew a large number of Aurors and curious clerks.
"What on earth is happening?" Gaddewyn, the Deputy Head of the Auror Office, quickly arrived at the scene. He frowned, looking at the flames rising from the tunnel entrance.
"It's an attack, Captain! Someone blew up the phone booth!" A young Auror waved his wand to dispel the smoke and flames, his expression grave as he gazed at the melted, twisted remains of the phone booth.
An attack? How could that be?
Gaddewyn's mind went blank. Who would dare attack the Ministry of Magic?
He would rather believe that the phone booth had simply fallen due to disrepair...
It can't be the Dark Lord leading the Death Eaters, can it?
As he pondered, Gaddewyn's expression suddenly froze. His eyes widened, fixed on the deep tunnel.
A figure in black robes descended rapidly, and the wizards present were as if collectively hit by a Silencing Charm. All words stuck in their throats, their eyes locked on the figure's crimson eyes and snake-like, terrifying face...
"God... Dark Lord?!" Gaddewyn swallowed hard, his body trembling uncontrollably, his mind a blank.
The Daily Prophet had said that the Dark Lord's resurrection was a fabrication, hadn't it?
Yet here he was, standing right in front of him. Gaddewyn wished he could flay the editor of the Daily Prophet alive...
"Quick, go and notify the Minister of Magic! It's the Dark Lord!"
A shrill cry shattered the brief calm, and the Wizards gathered in the hall panicked, scattering in all directions, their screams piercing the air.
Ivan scanned the room, his gaze quickly locking onto a Wizard. He then drew the wand hidden in his sleeve and shouted fiercely.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A dark green beam flashed through the air, and the targeted Wizard's face twisted in terror as he cried out.
"No, Dark Lord, you shouldn't kill me..."
Before he could finish, the green light struck him, and he was instantly drained of life, falling to the ground lifeless, his eyes wide with confusion.
He doubted whether the Dark Lord had targeted the wrong person. After all, he had become a Death Eater three months ago...
After eliminating one victim, Ivan continued casting, aiming to create more chaos.
With the first death, the Ministry of Magic's hall descended into pandemonium. Clerks screamed and tried to flee, but the fireplaces, for some reason, had lost their function. No matter how much Floo Powder they threw in, they couldn't escape.
To make matters worse, a thick Dark Fog began pouring in from the dark tunnels above, and as it landed, it transformed into more Death Eaters, who immediately engaged the Aurors who had mustered the courage to fight back.
"Crucio!" Bellatrix, the madwoman, landed and immediately pointed her wand at the nearest Auror. She preferred to torture her victims rather than kill them, relishing in their agonized screams.
The Carrows and Augustus, however, lacked Bellatrix's sadistic tendencies. They were ruthless, venting their fury with brutal efficiency. The few dozen Aurors who dared to resist were quickly overwhelmed, either incapacitated or killed.
However, this was the Ministry of Magic, and more Aurors were rapidly converging on the scene. Many Clerks, realizing they couldn't escape, also drew their wands and joined the resistance.
Despite the initial surprise and chaos, the Death Eaters, having just escaped from prison, were in poor condition. As reinforcements arrived, they quickly lost their early advantage and found themselves in a desperate battle.
Moreover, in recent years, the Aurors' equipment had been significantly upgraded, and each of them now carried a protective ring. Unprepared for this, Bellatrix and her companions suffered significant losses. Over a dozen Death Eaters were felled by rebounded spells.
"Serpensortia!" Ivan would not let the situation deteriorate further. He growled the incantation, and his wand trembled. A terrifying Giant Serpent, several dozen meters long, emerged from the billowing black smoke, rampaging through the already chaotic hall.
Ivan had enhanced this low-level Dark Magic with two units of magic, making it a hundred times more powerful. The Giant Serpent's massive tail lashed out, sending several Aurors flying.
