The enhanced Appraisal Jutsu was a huge improvement over the previous version. Not only could he see the specific composition of potential, but it also displayed all the skills and their proficiency levels, giving him a more intuitive understanding of his students' growth.
Mu Yue even felt that the enhanced Appraisal Jutsu could be quite useful in combat, as intelligence was crucial for a ninja's battle prowess.
He then turned his Appraisal Jutsu on Might Guy and Kakashi.

If teaching a class were likened to cooking a meal, an ordinary Chunin teacher would simply tell the students what the main ingredients of the dish were and then demonstrate the cooking process once.
