Chapter 795: Kushina: It Must Be Moonbath's Son!
Chapter 795: Kushina: It Must Be Moonbath's Son!
"Ouch."
Boruto fell from mid-air, and before he could adjust his posture, he landed face-first on the grassy ground.
"Where am I? Where are Mr. Sasuke and that bastard Urashiki Otsutsuki?"
Boruto rubbed his slightly reddened face from the fall and looked around, only to find that both his teacher and the enemy were gone.
The only thing he still held was the small turtle he had snatched.
Boruto carefully examined his surroundings and concluded that he was in a park.
"Huh, I'm still in Konoha. I thought I had ended up somewhere strange."
After leaving the park, Boruto spotted a Konoha ninja wearing the village's forehead protector, which relieved him.
Since they were still in Konoha, the next steps were simple; he just needed to return the item, and the rest would be handled by Sasuke.
"This is strange. Which district is this? I don't remember it at all."
Boruto put the quiet turtle into his bag, intending to return to the Cultural Research Institute, but he realized he didn't recognize the area.
"Hello, do you know the way to the Cultural Research Institute?"
At that moment, Boruto spotted a red-haired female ninja and approached her directly.
"Cultural Research Institute?"
Kushina scratched her head, vaguely recalling a similar term, but she couldn't quite place it.
"Yeah."
Boruto nodded confidently.
"It should be in that direction."
Kushina pointed north with some uncertainty.
"Thank you, goodbye."
Boruto politely thanked her and headed north.
After a few steps, he couldn't help but turn back to look at Kushina.
"This red-haired auntie looks so familiar, like I've seen her somewhere before."
Boruto wondered to himself.
For some reason, he felt he had seen the red-haired auntie before, but when he tried to recall where, he couldn't remember.
"Never mind, I probably saw her on the way here."
Not wanting to overthink it, Boruto headed in the direction Kushina had indicated.
"This kid gives me a strangely familiar feeling."
After walking a few steps, Kushina stopped and turned back to look at Boruto's departing figure, thinking of the recently separated Uzumaki Naruto. She couldn't help but show a thoughtful expression.
"Blond hair, blue eyes, and a similar face... Could it be...?"
Kushina's eyes widened, and she followed with a curious expression.
"That can't be right. There aren't that many places in Konoha I haven't been to."
After walking for a while, Boruto was surprised to find that the surroundings still felt unfamiliar.
Occasionally, some places had a hint of familiarity, but they were different from what he remembered.
Feeling uneasy, Boruto quietly slipped into an alley and, with a chakra-infused step, leaped onto a rooftop to observe from above.
"Where are Dad's Earth Style techniques? I don't see Kakashi-sensei's or Tsunade-sama's either."
Boruto was stunned to see only four Earth Style techniques at the cliff's edge.
"Warning, warning."
At that moment, the small turtle in Boruto's bag suddenly spoke up.
Boruto quickly took the turtle out and asked, "Is this your doing? Where are Mr. Sasuke and Urashiki Otsutsuki?"
"The space-time transfer was interfered with by an unknown space-time force, resulting in a significant deviation in the transfer location. This is an unknown space-time, so please be extremely cautious."
The small turtle didn't answer Boruto's question but continued to report like a machine.
"What do you mean? Is this the past of Konoha?"
Boruto asked.
"I cannot answer your question as this time and space are not in my database."
The small turtle replied.
"Due to the interference during the transfer, I'm also unclear about the specific situation of Mr. Sasuke and Urashiki Otsutsuki. According to the information in the database, they should also land in this space-time, with a time difference of no more than twenty years at most."
The turtle continued.
Boruto couldn't help but be shocked by the magnitude of the error.
"According to calculations, the error should be within half a month."
"Could you please speak in one breath? You scared me."
Boruto couldn't help but tap the turtle's shell.
Being stranded in an unfamiliar place for twenty years would be a nightmare.
"Next, I will inform you of the precautions for space-time transfer and unexpected situations. Please listen carefully and follow the instructions strictly."
"By the way, what exactly are you? Are you Urashiki Otsutsuki's accomplice?"
Boruto examined the small turtle but couldn't find anything special about it.
"I am the space-time travel treasure, Riki, and I do not possess the concept of an accomplice as you mentioned."
The small turtle answered.
"As we have arrived in an unknown space-time due to an unexpected situation, for safety reasons, please avoid interacting with any life forms unless necessary, and absolutely do not reveal your identity."
Boruto was speechless. Was he supposed to live like a hermit in the mountains?
"The following are the precautions for space-time transfer:
"First, do not reveal information about the future.
Second, do not..."
"Why are there so many rules? Can you take us back?"
Boruto asked after hearing the instructions.
"We can return after the chakra replenishment is complete. Finally, please be cautious and prioritize safety."
The small turtle gave its final response and then fell silent, retreating into its shell.
Boruto tapped it and, finding no response, put the turtle back into his pocket and returned to the alley.
"Let's find Mr. Sasuke first. I wonder if he's here yet."
Boruto wandered the streets, taking in the unfamiliar yet vaguely familiar surroundings.
Theoretically, Sasuke might not be in this time and space, but Boruto had nothing else to do but search for him.
"This must be the old Konoha."
Boruto couldn't help but quip as he observed the strange yet somewhat recognizable architecture.
Although the little turtle had said this was an unknown time and space, the four Hokage monuments and the identical architectural style left no doubt that this was indeed the Konoha of the past.
"Is the Ichiraku Ramen shop entrance this small now?"
Boruto muttered to himself as he walked, his mind filled with criticism.
He was intimately familiar with this shop, not because he liked it, but because his father did. His father was an avid fan of Ichiraku Ramen.
"Mr. Sasuke, you must get here before Otsutsuki Urashiki."
After nearly two hours of searching in the main district, Boruto hadn't even caught a glimpse of Sasuke's shadow, and he began to panic.
If Urashiki arrived first and they met, he would be in deep trouble.
The thought of facing Urashiki alone made Boruto anxious.
After searching for over an hour, Boruto still hadn't found Sasuke, but he had managed to work up an appetite.
"I haven't seen a single Rai Burger along the way. Does this era not have Rai Burgers? How annoying."
Boruto crouched by the roadside, kicking small pebbles beside him in frustration.
If there was a Rai Burger shop, he could have bought a couple and searched for Sasuke while eating.
"Did I give you the wrong directions?"
Boruto suddenly heard a female voice. He looked up and saw the red-haired female ninja he had asked for directions earlier.
"No, I just didn't feel like going there," Boruto replied.
Since they weren't in the same time and space, there was no way he could hand over the little turtle.
"You're not from our time, are you?"
Kushina suddenly asked.
"How did you...?" Boruto was about to ask how she knew, but then he recalled the little turtle's words and quickly changed his response.
"What nonsense are you talking about? I don't understand."
"Is that so? Then how do you explain saying, 'This era doesn't have Rai Burgers'?"
Kushina smiled at Boruto.
Initially, she had only suspected Boruto due to his distinctive features, but after following him for a while, she became certain that he was a time traveler like Naruto.
However, Kushina wasn't sure if Boruto was a ninja from another world or a true future ninja.
Boruto broke into a cold sweat and feigned composure, "Auntie, you must have misheard me. I was just wondering why this place doesn't sell Rai Burgers."
"Auntie?!"
Kushina's eyes narrowed, and her vibrant red hair stood on end due to the powerful chakra, appearing menacing to Boruto.
"Sister, sister!" Boruto quickly sat down and retreated, correcting himself.
"That's better."
Kushina nodded in satisfaction and withdrew her chakra.
Boruto breathed a sigh of relief, wiping the sweat from his forehead. She was truly intimidating.
"There's no need to pretend in front of me. You look to be around twenty-three, so you must have graduated recently. I can just check the list of recent ninja graduates to find out who you are."
Kushina said, hands on her hips.
Boruto thought about it and realized she was right. He regretted not removing his forehead protector.
"What's your name, and when did you come from?"
Kushina asked curiously.
With his striking golden hair and blue eyes, he could easily be a descendant of either Minato or Moonbath.
"I'm Mitsuki, and I can't tell you anything else."
Boruto sighed and made a surrendering gesture.
The little turtle had warned him never to reveal his identity, so Boruto didn't give his real name.
"Then get up and come with me."
Kushina extended her hand to Boruto.
He hesitated but took her hand, allowing her to pull him up.
Kushina walked ahead, with Boruto following behind.
"You think so little of me? Perfect."
Boruto was delighted to see Kushina's nonchalance towards him. As they passed a corner, he activated his chakra and attempted to make a quick escape.
Whoosh! A metal chain shot out from Kushina's body, binding Boruto and pulling him back.
"I've been discovered, and what a powerful jutsu this is!"
Boruto tried to break free from the chain by activating his chakra, but it didn't budge.
"Really, am I that scary? Why did you try to run away?"
Kushina glared at Boruto.
Boruto: ...
She had no self-awareness, that annoying red-haired aunt.
"Why are we here?"
Boruto was taken aback by the large Ichiraku Ramen sign.
He had expected to be taken to an interrogation room, but instead, Kushina had brought him to Ichiraku Ramen.
"You ask strange questions. Of course, we're here to eat ramen. What else would we do? I'll have a large pork bone miso chashu ramen."
Kushina answered Boruto while skillfully placing her order.
"Or maybe you're not hungry after all this walking? Let me remind you, there are no Rai Burgers in Konoha."
Boruto was momentarily confused.
Despite his unusual presence being noticed, instead of being taken to a research facility, he was being treated to a ramen meal.
Due to Boruto's continued silence, Kushina ordered the same ramen as her, slurping it up.
When the ramen was served, Kushina didn't speak but instead devoured it with gusto.
For some reason, Boruto inexplicably saw his father's figure in Kushina.
"Am I hallucinating from hunger?"
Boruto tapped his head, feeling he should get his eyes checked at the hospital.
It was just a red-haired auntie he saw on the street; how could she possibly resemble his father, the Seventh Hokage?
"Let's eat first."
Looking at the steaming ramen before him, Boruto followed Kushina's lead and devoured the noodles.
After searching for Sasuke for so long, he was genuinely hungry.
Perhaps because of this, Boruto found the ramen exceptionally delicious.
After finishing the ramen, Kushina took Boruto to a park with few people.
"Who is your father?"
Kushina asked.
Boruto shook his head, determined to keep the information confidential and not reveal more to Kushina.
"Don't know or don't want to say?"
"I can't say."
"I see..."
Kushina stroked her chin, deep in thought.
Initially, she thought that this blonde boy, who didn't recognize her, was likely a ninja from another world.
But would a ninja from a parallel world require such secrecy?
"What about your mother? You don't need to tell me who she is, but is she from the Uzumaki clan?"
Kushina continued her inquiry.
Boruto shook his head again.
"A child of Moon Bath, but it's unclear if he's a future ninja or from a parallel world."
Kushina made further deductions in her mind.
If it's the latter, it's fine, but if it's the former, then it's quite unsettling.
Firstly, for a person to cross over, they must have encountered something extraordinary. Additionally, if Mitsuki doesn't recognize her, it's truly terrifying to think about.
"You've asked me so many questions, but I still don't know who you are."
Boruto realized that although Kushina looked fierce, she didn't seem hostile, so he asked.
"I am the master of sealing techniques in Konoha, the teacher of sealing techniques to the leader of the Shinobi Alliance, Uzumaki Kushina!"
Kushina proudly said, crossing her arms.
"So, you're only good at sealing techniques?"
Boruto teased.
"Hmm?"
Kushina's hair slowly rose.
"You're so amazing, Kushina-nee-san. You're so strong."
As Boruto spoke, a flash of insight struck him.
Uzumaki Kushina, Kushina—this was his grandmother! Boruto realized why the red-haired auntie seemed familiar; he had seen Kushina's photos when he was younger.
"If I call my grandmother 'sister,' then my father will have to call me 'uncle.'"
A strange thought crossed Boruto's mind.
"Grandma must have recognized me, which is why she took me for ramen."
Boruto immediately relaxed, marveling at his grandmother's wisdom.
At this time, he didn't even know if his father had been born yet, but she had guessed his identity.
"It seems like you're looking for someone. Did you come with a companion?"
Kushina asked.
She had initially followed him in her original body, but after returning home for a while, she used a Shadow Clone to keep an eye on him, so she was aware of Boruto's actions throughout the morning.
"Yes, but I'm not sure if he's currently in Konoha."
Boruto nodded, not revealing Sasuke's information.
Although he now understood Kushina's identity, he adhered to the small turtle's instructions even more strictly.
The small turtle had clearly stated that family members required extra caution.
If family members encountered problems, it was uncertain if he, Sasuke, and his father could still exist.
"I'll have Minato help you investigate. As the Hokage, he can assign a task to find someone, which is much faster than you searching alone."
Kushina suggested.
"As I thought, it's still the era of the Fourth Hokage."
Boruto nodded inwardly, thanking Kushina.
Although Minato had deployed numerous ninjas, finding Sasuke still took considerable time.
Initially, no one considered that Sasuke would be detained by the police, but Minato thought of this and instructed the police, which led to Sasuke's discovery.
"Mr. Sasuke, you're being too careless. How did you end up in detention?"
Boruto teased.
"Bad luck. I made a mistake."
Sasuke explained calmly.
He had crossed over into a forest, making it impossible to determine if he had indeed crossed over, which is why he revealed his flaw to Uchiha Itachi.
Even a genius like his brother wouldn't have been able to find his flaw otherwise.
"However, it doesn't matter. Even if you hadn't come, Boruto, I would have left soon and searched for you."
Guu~
Suddenly, a low groan echoed within the visiting room.
Instinctively, Boruto glanced at Sasuke; they were the only two people in the room.
"Mr. Sasuke, it seems there is some impact. Let me take you to eat."
Boruto struggled to suppress his laughter.
Sasuke remained expressionless.
