Chapter 794: The Next Move
Chapter 794: The Next Move
International Fantasy Society Building, Headquarters.
A blaring alarm echoed through the building, with red warning lights flashing in the corridors. Instantly, the building went on high alert, and various personnel rushed through the hallways.
From the outside, it appeared to be just a card-selling entertainment company. However, the interior of the building was practically an armed fortress, equipped with various defensive weapons, including anti-aircraft guns and missile interception systems.
But now, most of the building's functions had silently fallen into the hands of invaders from space. Light of Annihilation had exerted its mental influence, controlling a large portion of the staff within.
Usually, only a few Card Professors were stationed here, while others like the Pegasus brothers were at their foundations. The semi-retired CEO Bercas mostly stayed on his private island—of course, not long ago, Bercas had also been ambushed.
Thus, no one had noticed that the building was now under the control of Light's forces.
Melo stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window on the top floor, expressionless as he gazed out the window. Suddenly, a man in a white uniform hurried into the room and reported urgently.
"Sir, air raid alert."
"We're under attack," said the man in white.
"They're coming faster than I expected," Melo said softly, as if talking to himself, "Well, it doesn't matter. Sooner or later, they were bound to come."
He glanced at the deck on his Duel Disk.
"It's a pity, just a little short of perfection. But it should be enough to sweep this world."
He raised his head and spoke loudly.
"Send them all out." Melo ordered, "Prepare for battle."
"Yes, sir."
"..."
As the jet approached the Fantasy Society Building, a magnificent scene unfolded before their eyes.
Duel Monsters, countless Duel Monsters. They filled the sky like an army, forming an impenetrable barrier around the company building.
Their intention was clear. To enter, one must first get past them.
"Looks like they're not giving way."
Machida Kenji frowned in the cockpit.
"Do we have to take a more forceful approach?"
"I think so."
Yugo Takeuchi had already activated his Duel Disk, facing the massive army with anticipation.
"This should be interesting."
As he spoke, his cards were already on the Duel Disk.
"Elemental Hero Neos!"
A pillar of light descended from the depths of the universe, arrogantly landing on the ground. The white Neos Hero's body exuded an unstoppable momentum as it charged into the monster army, swinging its arms like a cross, and with each movement, several monsters fell to its punches and kicks.
Allowing Duel Monsters to materialize in reality was a power that Yugo had only obtained in the final season of the anime. However, by merging with God Hand Power ahead of time, he had already gained this ability.
Even before the fusion with God Hand, powerful monsters like Neos Hero had the ability to materialize on their own. After all, in the Light Society Arc, Neos Hero had fought against the Saiou in person and even flew into space to deal with a satellite.
With Yugo's power upgrade, the monsters' strength in reality naturally increased as well.
Neos Hero looked like a war god, rampaging through the enemy's materialized monster army. At times, he shot lasers from his forehead, slicing through several monsters like a sharp blade. Other times, he crossed his arms, and a beam of light extended for miles, creating a stunning chain of explosions.
"Red-Eyes Black Dragon!"
Machida also summoned his signature monster, Red-Eyes Black Dragon. However, he was a mortal, unlike Yugo, who had multiple lives. But Red-Eyes was a spirit monster, and You Xuan had specially borrowed Kaiba's military-grade materialization power for this battle, allowing Machida to materialize Red-Eyes.
Neos Hero wreaked havoc in the enemy ranks, drawing away most of their forces. Yugo and Machida seized the opportunity to jump out of the cockpit, riding on Red-Eyes' back. The legendary dragon spread its wings, spewing Black Flame Bullets to clear the way, and charged straight towards the outer layer of the building.
Decade summoned his beloved hero, Flame Wingman—the very same Guardian Spirit that was his favorite to materialize in the original Dimensional Arc.
Flame Wingman soared with his wings, guarding the Red-Eyes on both sides. Any opponent who dared to charge forward was intercepted by him, either kicked away by his fiery kick or blasted by the flames spewing from the dragon's head.
Clang!
The thick bulletproof glass on the outer layer of the building shattered into nothingness with a single breath of Black Flame Bullet from the Red-Eyes. The two of them broke through the window, tumbling inside and steadying themselves after the impact.
"Awesome!" Kenji exclaimed, holding onto the Kaiba Corporation's exclusive Duel Disk with delight. "We should do this more often."
They had successfully broken through the initial defenses, but both of them knew this was just the beginning.
Within seconds of standing up, a man in a white uniform with sunglasses stood before them, his Duel Disk ready.
"Don't even think about taking another step forward," the man with sunglasses said in a low voice. "Your opponent is me."
Kenji and Decade exchanged a glance.
They weren't surprised. Yugo had already mentioned that during their assault, they might encounter missile or anti-aircraft gun defenses, or even a line of materialized monster defenses. But overall, these were more for intimidation than actual effectiveness.
Especially now that Decade had obtained the God Hand Power, surpassing the extraordinary and becoming one of the top duelists of his time, such interference couldn't possibly stop him.
"Perfect, I've been itching for a duel. I'll take the lead," Kenji said.
"Is that okay?" Decade looked at him.
Kenji gave an OK sign.
"Alright, I'll go first. Be careful," Decade said.
They high-fived each other, and Decade continued to advance.

The man with sunglasses didn't stop him, allowing Decade to go first. After all, there would be others to handle the interception later.
His responsibility was this opponent right in front of him.
"Duel!"
[Kenji, 4000 LP]
[Sunglasses Man, 4000 LP]
"I'll go first, and draw!" Kenji said. "Hey, I've been feeling some new inspiration lately, so I'll test it out on you.
I summon 'Legendary Blackstone'!"
[Legendary Blackstone, 0 ATK]
"The effect of Legendary Blackstone, by tributing this card, Special Summon a 'Red-Eyes' monster with 7 or less stars from your Deck.
Come forth! Red-Eyes Black Dragon!"
A high-pitched dragon's roar echoed, and a pillar of lava erupted, transforming into the domineering form of a black dragon.
[Red-Eyes Black Dragon, 2400 ATK]
"The legendary Red-Eyes," the man with sunglasses said disdainfully. "But no matter how famous, it's still just a seven-star common monster."
"Not necessarily," Kenji said with a mysterious smile.
"Oh?"
"I activate the Spell Card 'Black Flame Bullet'! When I have a Red-Eyes Black Dragon on my field, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the original ATK of that Red-Eyes!"
[Red-Eyes Black Dragon, 2400 ATK]
The man with sunglasses frowned. "You're going to inflict damage on my Red-Eyes right from the start?"
"Not done yet, I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card 'Continuous Spell' in a chain! Discard all cards in your hand, and copy the effect of the Spell Card just activated, making this card's effect the same as that Spell Card!"
"Huh?"
"In other words, you'll take two consecutive Black Flame Bullet attacks," Kenji smiled. "Damage equal to twice the ATK of Red-Eyes!"
The man with sunglasses was speechless.
What the Nani?!
His eyes widened, and his sunglasses slid down his nose in shock.
But...
It's not even my turn yet, and I haven't even played a card?!
"Waaaaahhhh—"
[Sunglasses Man, 4000 LP → 0 LP]
With a simple move, Kenji effortlessly defeated his opponent and clapped his hands with a flourish.
"Next?"
