Chapter 794: The Egyptian Cat Goddess (First Update)
Chapter 794: The Egyptian Cat Goddess (First Update)
"This power is quite intriguing!"
Jerry sensed a special force from the woman in leather at the stairwell, similar to that of the Dimensional Deities and the Nine Pillar Gods he had learned about in Marvel.
However, this force was clearly just an attachment, not a direct presence, making it quite weak.
"Little flying kitty, I really like you."
The woman in leather on the second floor looked at Jerry with eyes full of desire, as if she had found her most cherished thing and wanted to possess it.
She took action immediately.
With legs that seemed even longer due to the leather, she leaped from the second-floor railing, pouncing directly toward Jerry.
At first glance, it seemed like she was a large black cat.
"Stupefy."
Jerry flicked his tail, and a beam of blue light shot toward the woman in leather. She seemed to have anticipated this, and her supple body performed a maneuver impossible for a human, changing direction mid-air.
The blue Magic Beam narrowly missed her.
"Interesting!"
Jerry's cat mouth curved into a smirk.
"But that won't help."
His Magic wasn't something that could be dodged, as it had a built-in tracking function.
Under Jerry's mental control, the blue Magic Beam, after narrowly missing the Cat Woman, made a 360-degree turn and shot back toward the woman in leather.
"You're mine."
The woman in leather, thinking she had evaded the blue Magic Beam, moved closer to Jerry and attempted to capture him with her hands.
However, just as her hands were about an inch away from Jerry, her eyes rolled back, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Jerry had controlled the Sleeping Charm's Magic Beam to strike her precisely on the buttocks.
"Thud!"
The woman in leather, now unconscious, fell onto the ceramic floor at the entrance of the jewelry store.
Jerry retracted his wings and landed in front of her, preparing to check on her, when a voice sounded behind him.
"Whose incarnation are you, God?"
"Whose incarnation are you, God?"
Jerry quickly turned around to see a tabby cat standing before him.
Sensing that the power within the tabby cat was of the same origin as that of the woman in leather, Jerry's heart raced, and he immediately countered.
The tabby cat walked up to Jerry, tilting its head slightly:
"I am Bastet, this is my incarnation on Earth, so you can also call me by my current name—Midnight."
The Egyptian Cat Goddess, Bastet!
The moment the tabby cat revealed its name, Jerry recognized it.
Back on Earth, he had read through all the books in Kamar-Taj, which included information about the various Dimensional Deities. The Cat Goddess was a well-known deity in Egypt.
In Marvel, most of the Gods from Earth's myths and legends were real, though for various reasons, their true forms were not on Earth. Instead, they chose human incarnations.
For example, Moon Knight Marc Spector was the human incarnation chosen by the Egyptian Moon God Khonsu.
This new world seemed to have a similar arrangement, and Jerry suddenly had a clearer idea of the world he was in.
"Midnight, my name is Jerry. You may not have heard of my true form, but they call me Sorcerer God Carmen. This is my first incarnation in the human world."
Jerry's eyes darted around, and he started to improvise.
"Sorcerer God Carmen, I've never heard of her. Can you please not harm her? After all, I just spent my divine power to bring her back to life."
The tabby cat, upon hearing Jerry's response, instinctively washed her face with her paw and then pointed at the leather-clad woman on the ground.
Living in the temple had been incredibly dull, so Bastet often imbued her divine power into cats in the human world to experience life.
This had been the case for thousands of years.
Occasionally, if she encountered a human she favored, she would generously grant her divine power, allowing the human to transform into a Cat Woman capable of pursuing her own happiness and freedom.
A few days ago, while perched on an air conditioner unit admiring the view below, a human woman thought she was trapped and even risked her life to climb over and save her. This greatly impressed Bastet.
So, when she discovered that the human woman had been killed, she bestowed her divine power upon her, resurrecting her as a new Cat Woman.
Tonight was the Cat Woman's first divine awakening, and she never expected to encounter another embodiment of a deity.
Although the small cat opposite her was very weak, Bastet could sense the powerful essence of its soul, which was quite alarming.
This indicated that the deity of the small cat must be extremely powerful, so she had to approach the situation with as much diplomacy as possible.
"Of course, I never intended to do anything to her."
Jerry nodded in agreement without hesitation.
He knew why the Egyptian cat goddess recognized him as an embodiment. The soul core he had cut off, though small, was of the quality of a Single Universe Level soul core.
Deities like the cat goddess, many of whom were just at the Celestial Father Level, or even below it, were quite common. Those at the peak of the Celestial Father Level were rare.
The Marvel world's Odin, known as the father of the gods, and Zeus, the highly esteemed king of the gods, were both at the peak of the Celestial Father Level and could barely reach the Single Universe Level within their respective dimensions.
Jerry's current strength, even among Single Universe Level beings, was already formidable. Some Multiverse Deities without their own dimensions might not even be a match for him.
Therefore, the cat goddess's perception of his soul core was naturally terrifying.
But Jerry knew that his true self could never come here, even though he had learned the coordinates of this world. The world he was reborn into, which the Panel Master had him smuggle into, was on par with the Marvel world. If he were to directly teleport here, he might be detected by the world's creator and treated as an invader.
Because of this, if the cat goddess were to attack his current soul fragment, he would have no defense.
Fortunately, the cat goddess was also intimidated by his soul core and had been friendly from the start.
"Thank you."
The cat goddess nodded at Jerry's response and transformed into a wispy sand, then departed.
She believed that such a powerful deity would not break his word. Even if he did, she wouldn't dare to attack him. Offending such a powerful deity over a human would be unwise.
"Wake-Up Charm!"
Seeing the Egyptian cat goddess leave, Jerry felt a slight relief. After a moment's thought, he turned and cast a Revival Spell on the leather-clad woman lying on the ground.
