Chapter 792: Appointed as the Zero-Distance Observer of the Nine-Tails Ball
Chapter 792: Appointed as the Zero-Distance Observer of the Nine-Tails Ball
Looking at the secrets of the Root that had been uncovered, Senju Tobirama felt like going to Purgatory to settle scores with the evil, young Sarutobi.
The disciple he had protected at the cost of his life had turned out like this, and it would have been better if he had died in the hands of the Cloud Ninja.
The extermination of the Uchiha Clan during the coup could still be explained as protecting Konoha and maintaining the authority of the Hokage.
But apart from that, Sarutobi Danzo had done many other things.
Tobirama only saw Danzo's relentless pursuit of strengthening the Root, even if it meant harming the interests of Konoha as a whole.
"Teacher, I had no idea that Danzo had done so many atrocious things behind your back.
He covered it up too well, always talking about protecting Konoha, and everyone thought he was a ninja who inherited your Will of Fire, just a little extreme."
Mito Mon defended.
"Yes, if we had known that Danzo was such a traitor, we certainly wouldn't have let him get away with it."
Tsunade added.
Bam! Tobirama slammed his palm on the desk and stared at Tsunade and Mito without expression.
Mito and Tsunade didn't know about all of Sarutobi's affairs, not even a single one, which was as good as telling a blatant lie.
As high-level advisors, Mito and Tsunade sometimes had to seek Sarutobi's approval for his plans, how could they not know? The two advisors couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat.
Their minds suddenly recalled Tobirama's strict and impartial leadership during his time in office.
Anyone who threatened the stability and prosperity of Konoha, even if they were from the Senju Clan, would not escape Tobirama's punishment.
"Sigh, I was also at fault for trusting Danzo too much."
Sarutobi Hiruzen sighed.
He never imagined that Sarutobi had done so many excessive things behind the scenes, even being involved in Orochimaru's defection.
"You come over here and stand straight!"
Tobirama glared at Hiruzen, too busy scolding the others that he had forgotten about Hiruzen.
Hiruzen let out a bitter laugh and stood beside Mito.
"As the Hokage, how could you allow someone to usurp the authority of the ANBU?"
Tobirama reprimanded.
In Tobirama's view, the Root was essentially a second ANBU, but one that operated outside the Hokage's jurisdiction.
If someone had dared to do this during Tobirama's reign, he would have immediately arrested them for treason.
"How are you even fit to be the Hokage? You are truly incompetent! All these things happened right under your nose."
Tobirama was disappointed; none of his four disciples lived up to his expectations.
There was no need to say more about the innately evil Sarutobi; Tobirama wished he could go back in time to the day of his death and strangle Sarutobi with his own hands.
Mito and Tsunade weren't particularly bad, but they were also not good, and they were essentially useless, living off the efforts of others.
Compared to the other three, Hiruzen was better, with both merits and demerits, but he still fell short of Tobirama's expectations.
It was understandable that Hiruzen needed the support of Sarutobi and Mito to consolidate his position as the Hokage and fight against external enemies, granting them some privileges. After all, Tobirama's death was sudden, and it would have been challenging for Hiruzen to secure the Hokage position solely based on his will.
However, Tobirama couldn't understand why Hiruzen didn't reclaim his authority after stabilizing the situation but instead maintained the status quo.
Hiruzen was speechless and didn't try to defend himself.
Tobirama was telling the truth; he was indeed a less capable Hokage than Tobirama.
Even though Hiruzen's intentions were to develop Konoha better, objectively, he had failed to achieve that.
Seeing this, Tobirama didn't say more and turned his attention back to the two advisors, who were as silent as cicadas in winter.
"Mito, Tsunade, resign and go home to reflect. I don't want to say more."
Mito and Tsunade were high-ranking officials, just below the Hokage, and it wouldn't be appropriate for Tobirama, who was no longer the current Hokage, to directly dismiss them.
Of course, if they didn't want to resign gracefully, Tobirama would have to give them additional responsibilities, such as being a zero-distance observer of the Nine-Tails Ball.
"Yes."
Mito nodded bitterly.
As Tobirama's disciple, he was well aware of his teacher's methods, and if he didn't resign gracefully, Tobirama would make sure he did.
Tsunade, though reluctant, had no choice but to agree and left the Hokage's office with Mito.
Tobirama rubbed his forehead in exasperation and sighed deeply.
Thanks to his disciples, he anticipated that his days ahead wouldn't be easy.
"I need to get to know the outstanding ninjas in the village better."
Tobirama thought to himself.
Tsunade wasn't suitable to be the Hokage, and she didn't particularly want the position either.
For the healthy development of Konoha and Tsunade's well-being, it was essential to elect a capable Sixth Hokage.
Tobirama couldn't take up the position himself; it would set a bad precedent.
If future Hokages became obsessed with power, they might go to great lengths to ensure their resurrection and continue their rule after death.
At this moment, Senju Tobirama wished they had a "Moonbath" on their side, as it would have saved him a lot of trouble.
Or rather, if Moonbath were here, there wouldn't be so many problems.
...
The investigation into Danzo Shimura was a private matter for Naruto Uzumaki's world in Konoha, involving many of Konoha's secrets. There was no reason for Moonbath and his group to get involved, so in the end, Senju Hashirama ended up taking them on a tour.
It was true that although the buildings were new, the important ones were built exactly the same, and Senju Hashirama didn't get lost. He gave a detailed introduction along the way.
"But we have these in our world too," Dai Tu commented.
Their Konoha was more prosperous, but they hadn't demolished all the old buildings. Instead, they had relocated some of the training grounds outside Konoha for construction.
"Haha, it's all Konoha," Senju Hashirama laughed.
"Finally found you all! Where are the Shadow Clone Uncle and the Hokage Grandpa?" Naruto suddenly burst out, asking.
Naruto and his Shadow Clone, Dai Tu, had finished cleaning the house, and with it being mealtime, Naruto planned to invite everyone to eat at Ichiraku Ramen.
"They went to handle some matters," Dai Tu explained.
"Oh, I was thinking we could all eat at Ichiraku together," Naruto said, scratching his head with a hint of disappointment.
"Is that ramen shop still there? I remember it was doing well back then," Wave Water Gate said, surprised.
Ichiraku Ramen had been around since before Wave Water Gate became the Hokage, and he couldn't believe it was still in business after all this time.
"Dad, have you tried it? It's delicious, and it's still doing great business," Uzumaki Naruto asked, his eyes sparkling.
"Yes, the taste is quite good," Wave Water Gate smiled and nodded.
"You're making me hungry just talking about it. Let's not wait for Hashirama; let's go eat now," Senju Hashirama suggested.
"I'll get a takeaway for Hashirama later," Naruto said.
"Let's go! Let's go!" Naruto exclaimed excitedly.
This was the first time he was eating ramen with his real father.
"Welcome, Naruto!" Teuchi greeted Naruto with a smile.
"Yes, I'll have a large bowl of pork bone miso ramen," Naruto said, sitting down confidently.
"Why don't you try this flavor, Dad? It's really good," Naruto recommended.
"Dad?" Teuchi's expression turned perplexed upon hearing the word, and he carefully examined Wave Water Gate. His confusion grew as he glanced at Moonbath, who was next to Wave Water Gate.
When Teuchi saw Senju Hashirama next to Moonbath, he understood everything and realized what was going on.
"Have you been working too hard lately? I must be dreaming about ramen," Teuchi said, stroking his chin.
"It's not a dream! Dad has been resurrected. This is my father, Wave Water Gate, and next to him is Moonbath," Naruto explained.
Wave Water Gate and Moonbath smiled and greeted Teuchi.
"I see, resurrected? It must be a dream," Teuchi said, still looking skeptical.
Naruto was the son of the Fourth Hokage, who had a twin brother. With the First Hokage resurrected, Teuchi couldn't help but find the dream strange.
"Ouch!" Teuchi suddenly felt a sharp pain in his arm and turned to see his wife pinching him.
"It hurts, so it must not be a dream," Shino concluded.
Teuchi sighed inwardly, feeling a bit embarrassed by his wife's reaction.
"So, Naruto, your father is the Fourth Hokage?" Shino asked, her face full of surprise.
For a moment, Shino didn't know what to say.
As the Hokage's son, Naruto had endured a lot in the past.
"Yes," Naruto said proudly, puffing out his chest.
"So what? Naruto can become the Hokage too," Dai Tu said.
There were few people who earned Dai Tu's sincere admiration, and Naruto was one of them.
[A line of gibberish, possibly a typo or encoding error, has been omitted.]
"You can do it too, Dai Tu," Naruto replied with a smile.
Seeing this, Shino decided not to ask the question she had in mind.
Naruto seemed so happy today that asking about it might ruin the mood.
After finishing their ramen, Naruto invited everyone to his house as guests.
The group stayed at Naruto's place for a while before dispersing.
Afterward, Shizui went to find Sasuke.
Currently, Sasuke was in a tricky situation.
Before killing Danzo Shimura, Sasuke was already an S-rank fugitive in Konoha.
While Danzo Shimura's death was deserved, it wasn't Sasuke's place as a rogue ninja to take action.
In this situation, if the Konoha leadership wanted to be strict, Sasuke would either go to prison or continue his escape.
Shizui wanted to calm Sasuke down and prevent him from making impulsive decisions that could worsen the situation.
The Hokages seemed to have a good impression of Sasuke, and Shizui believed Sasuke would receive a fair treatment.
Meanwhile, Dai Tu was wandering around Konoha, looking for people in need of help.
Kakashi went to the home of his adult self.
Moonbath returned to the hotel arranged by Tsunade for them.
Upon arriving at the hotel room, Moonbath set up a barrier and then opened the Great Black Heaven, releasing Kaguya Ootsutsuki.
"Explain the principle of the 'Wedge' and how to use it."
Moonbath Leader got straight to the point.
He was interested in Kaguya Otsutsuki's Wedge ability.
Datafication of abilities had many potential applications, and once one reached a certain level, even system manipulation was possible.
"Why should I tell you? You've already taken my Tailed Beast, and after I shared so much information, you sealed my powers and imprisoned me in your Dojutsu space."
Great Sage Kaguya expressed her indignation.
She was furious, as this was the first time she had wanted to cooperate with someone, and she had suffered such a devastating defeat.
"When did the Tailed Beasts become yours? They are the crystallization of the Ninja World's life force and belong to the Ninja World. I was merely helping you return them."
Moonbath Leader refuted.
"The reason I sealed you is that you're too dangerous."
Great Sage Kaguya couldn't hold back. If she hadn't been defeated, she would have already punched that hateful face.
"I spared your life, and that's the greatest mercy I can offer."
Moonbath Leader said calmly.
"Even without me, you would eventually be sealed by Naruto and Sasuke, who inherited the Six Paths Sage's power. And it won't be as simple as just sealing your powers then."
"Just them?" Great Sage Kaguya was dismissive.
As the ancestor of Chakra in the Ninja World, she wouldn't have been sealed by those inferior beings if it weren't for Moonbath Leader, who was half Otsutsuki, helping them.
"In any case, if you cooperate with me, I'll protect your safety and even take you to another world."
"Another world?" Great Sage Kaguya looked puzzled.
After Moonbath Leader explained, Great Sage Kaguya contemplated and said, "I can teach you, but you have to help me with something."
"What is it?" Moonbath Leader didn't agree immediately.
"Kurotsuchi, that's what you call it, right? I need the Kurotsuchi from another world and my body from there."
Great Sage Kaguya stated her request.
Kurotsuchi was a special application of the Wedge ability for her.
The advantage was that the Wedge could act independently as a life form, providing great operational flexibility, but the downside was that resurrecting through this method was complicated and highly restricted.
This special Wedge was usually less practical than the regular one, but Great Sage Kaguya had no other choice at the time.
With the Kurotsuchi from another version of herself and her body, Great Sage Kaguya might be able to resurrect that version.
If she consumed the Chakra of her alternate self, she might even evolve new powers.
"First of all, that's two things. Secondly, I refuse."
Moonbath Leader directly rejected Great Sage Kaguya's request, clearly intending to stir up trouble.
"Then I'll teach you the Wedge, and you only need to do one of the things I asked for."
Great Sage Kaguya had no choice but to compromise.
"Tell me exactly what you want to do."
Moonbath Leader still didn't agree.
Great Sage Kaguya thought for a moment and revealed her true intentions.
This time, she didn't need all the Tailed Beasts; at most, she would use a little of their Chakra, and Moonbath Leader should agree to that.
"No."
Moonbath Leader refused again.
How could he get such a huge favor in exchange for teaching him a little?
Great Sage Kaguya felt a sense of despair.
"However, if you teach me the Wedge, I'll count it as half of your promise. Once I gather a complete promise, I can help you with one thing."
Moonbath Leader spoke leisurely.
"Really? I can only teach you, but I can't guarantee you'll learn it."
Great Sage Kaguya asked tentatively.
The Wedge was an innate ability of the Otsutsuki Clan, and the clan only taught how to control this power.
Moonbath Leader nodded.
"Watch my eyes closely."
Great Sage Kaguya quickly entered a focused state and said.
Moonbath Leader nodded and looked at Great Sage Kaguya's three eyes.
Whoosh! Great Sage Kaguya condensed her information into her palm and swiftly struck towards Moonbath Leader.
She had figured it out; Moonbath Leader's cooperation meant becoming her protector.
"Teacher Kaguya is so thoughtful, even teaching me alongside Taijutsu."
Seeing the palm just a centimeter away from his body, Moonbath Leader revealed a benevolent smile.
He thought Great Sage Kaguya was acting out due to being sealed for so long and lacking love.
Great Sage Kaguya exerted all her strength but couldn't break through the Unlimited Defense, so she swiftly retracted her palm.
"That's how the clan teaches it."
Kaguya tried to explain.
"I see."
Moonbath Leader clenched his palm, and his Chakra erupted, enveloping his body in dazzling golden-red Chakra.
"Forget the promise; I'll teach you the Wedge now."
Great Sage Kaguya hurriedly said.
Only then did Moonbath Leader disperse his Chakra.
"Don't blame me if you don't learn it. I'll teach you sincerely, but this ability is usually not something that can be learned through teaching."
Before the lesson, Great Sage Kaguya made a disclaimer.
Moonbath Leader nodded.
He wasn't worried that Great Sage Kaguya would hold back; the initiative was in his hands.
"The core principle of the Wedge is 'Datafication,' followed by 'Replication'..."
As Moonbath Leader listened to the explanation, he tried it out and realized that Great Sage Kaguya hadn't lied; this ability didn't need to be learned.
